Just came across your video well done you I found it interesting listening to your woo with your first e bike purchase what a bummer , but looks like you have purchased a different one now and you are all legal. I bought my first e bike over 10 years ago before all this legal stuff it had a motorbike like throttle I have never been stopped by the old bill in fact I have had several bobbies saying what a nice bike never asked me about motor size or anything maybe just been lucky . Please carry on making your videos love your accent reminds me of home I was brought up in Yorkshire but left when I was twenty live in London now miss the northern accent though .

Ty pal I am an Oldham lad but also left the area.I do have quite a few more videos planned. They are slow to make. Hoping to grow my page and hopefully get sent ebikes to test by companies.
I ended up buying an Engwe Engine X. So fully UK legal now lol :)

You can actually swap the push assist (3.6mph) to the throttle rather than holding down the minus button. I did this by accident whilst trying to have it so that it's max power on throttle regardless of what pas I was using. I have an engine x and I've done so many mods to it it's probably worth double now. I wouldn't worry about the police as long as you're not riding like an idiot they've got more pressing issues like arresting right wingers lol😂

@simonjohnhinton1938 not sure if it was possible on the x20 that lcd is on alot of bikes but apparently it's how the controller is pre programed that dictates the settings that work and don't.
I did find a video a while back with that settings and turned it on. I thought it would work like the one on the Eskuta (instant for setting off). But the delay is to long to be useful settings off and I think (not 100% sure) that it interfered with pedal assist while holding the throttle. I didn't like having it on and swapped it back after my 1st journey 🙂

In America we are lucky enough to be allowed throttles and our upper speed limit is 28 mph in most, but not all, jurisdictions. But there are a number of bikes that exceed even these limits and it is common to hear of people being ticketed by the police. Like yours way too many of our bike shops are staffed by ebike haters who refuse to work on them.

@GregB-f1x I don't get it at all. I mean the fact is, I want a .manufactured ebike. I'm forced to buy Chinese and forced to choose from a smaller range due to ridiculous laws. I don't want to ride in an unsafe manner or put people at risk. I just want a strong reliable ebike that is going to get me where I need.
Let's be real. Is there a person on the planet who can argue that any Engwe bike, is safer, better built, more useful, more dependable or anywhere near the range of say an Aniioki? Those things have awesome range, plenty of power to tackle hills. Dual motors, massive hydrolic brakes.they exceed Engwe in every way. Yes they cost more, but you get more. But ridiculously even if they programed a 15.5mph restriction, I couldn't legally use one on UK roads.
For me there should only be a speed law on public land. Shouldn't matter how powerful the bike is, a Ferrari doing 15mph has no more impact then a ford doing 15mph. The laws seem to be there to punished responsible people for the actions or potential actions of the irresponsible. 🙂
