my lovely mum has breast cancer she is 83 she is a strong and erudite lady and is about to have a mastectomy she is trying so hard to be stoic but this just makes me crumble she is of a generation that never mentioned the C word. I will be with her every step of the way but the conversation we need to have is the one we don't have. I hope we get there. I know i'm not alone.

Dear Jackie, I got my diagnosis today for a rare breast cancer. My 70 year old Mum and 23 year old daughter are my great supports. It's especially hard for my Mum as she lost her Mum just last July to stomach cancer. Talk to your Mum, get past the uncomfortable bits. Laugh, cry and talk. You are not alone.
