Another lotion comes to mind as of a culprit for the damage. Always a pleasure to see your repairs, Sorin. Thank you for all the knowledge I got from you.
When your measuring resistance on the coils what is a bad reading and what is a good reading? Your are great at what you do. It’s not a fail if someone learned something.
Hi Sorin as usual good diagnosis quick and professional, my problem is trying to remove usbc ports , problem is to much heat, anyway interested to see how the pd controller works with o/o chip regard Jim
If possible, please explain about the pd controller. In addition, once you started to explain why. In the power supply of the RAM memory 2.5v is fine when the memory works on 1.2v
Sorin, as I wrote you last time, that weird looking port next to that USB-C is USB-C too(on older models even more functional that main USB-C as it handles docking station). If main port is misbehaving or is eaten away then you always can use that port.
I noticed your microscope video has improved over the last few months and I realized you upgraded your camera! Which one are you using now? I am looking to upgrade.
of course is affected, there is 0v instead of 1.8v, i din't checked but the power rail is shorted, probably this _SUS power rail come from a switcher, that's why the coils are not shorted
Hi , at 09:25 we had 1.30 amps and the other side we had 1.50 apms , why you did put red probe on 1.30 , because each side has lower apms is Ground !!! so you must put red probe on the 1.50 apms !!! i got confuse , why you did put red probe on Ground side and not Positive side which was 1,50 ? thnx
The side taking the most amps is ground (it would have the least resistance in the return path to the power supply). The positive rail would have a bit more resistance (caused by the resistance of the shorted device in this case) and thus lower amps. (Note: If the shorted device was a perfect short, the amps would be equal on both sides.)
@@timecentral3134 thankyou, but only one thing i cannot underestand ,when we put black prob on ground why you habe to put red prob on negetive side of ceramic capasitor too ??beause sorin put black prob on ground and put red prob on negetive side too ??i just though that he must put red prob on positive side of ceramic capasitor ??thnx
@@Martin-ot7xj there is no positive of negative on a ceramic cap. u have to simple probe on the powerline and on ground. Keep in mind that cap is still good. that chip is consuming the power bc of a short to ground.. so there is still resistance on the way at his probing point and resistance at the short.. how more resistance it consuming more so u have less amps.. So u know, the powerline is the side with the lowest amp..
If the owner of the laptop let microsoft save the bit locker recovery key to their microsoft account, then they can still unencrypt the drive without the motherboard, by getting the recovery key from the microsoft website.
I don't know wat happens, but since several months there are a lot of laptops coming here to the lab with burned bridge (I mean, Intel). I hate this failure.
Microsoft has a website to recover the drive encryption key. Simply enter MS account name and password, proceed through any security checks, and the key will be shown for the account (the account that encrypted the drive). If this was connected to a managed service (e.g. school domain, etc) then the keys may be stored under their MS account.

This video is very useful in finding the circuit in good elements or defective one
Thanks for all your help Sorin! Saludos desde Argentina

Are you using very low melt solder mixed in first?
@@Swenser no ,but using a new fume extractor I wonder if its lowering the temperature of across-the-board
It is not a Fail. Laptop was already dead. Doctor will not say I’m fail if patient arrives all ready dead.

Good job mate 👍
thank you teacher :) even did not fixed still learned something
Almost all new laptops have problems with chipset why that, almost every blow component connect with chipset
Thanks 🙏

Sorin,
I see you finally upgraded your Microscope Camera. Do you like that one? Which on did you get? The quality looks much better.
Thanks,

Isn't it possible that the cap is bad?

He can open his hard drive with the bitlockkey he has on thumbstick or account opr somewhere else and open his hard drive on another computer.

Good work , Every New laptops Cpu or Chipset short Game over! not nice... not repairable.
You could see a heat spot in the corner on the chipset😂
new friend here
Why you dont repair pc , because my near shop told me buy new instead repair
I don't consider this as a fail as you successfully diagnosed and found the fault.
That dot appeared like it may be the pin-1 locator mark
