Hi Ashley. Hope you are well. I use a backpack as my round is a bit of a mix of water fed pole and traditional, and am unable to afford a van. I have recently switched to the 1.4mm blue pencil jets (occasionally use the red 50⁰ fan jets), and like you say they are very good at saving water. Makes alot of difference over the course of even a few jobs 👍
It’s because you are a genuinely nice guy, you’ve helped me with questions I had, unlike others who put up videos and can’t be bothered answering. Keep up the good work mate 👍🏻
Good vid Ashley. I average 400 litres a day on my own. I have a 500 litres bolted in van. Last year I strapped a 200 litre tank to it for bigger days. Rarely use it but it's nice knowing it's there. I run my pump at around 55, pencil jets. I am a big rinser.
Excellent video. I tend to use the customers tap for gutter/soffitt/fascia cleans since these don't need pure water. I'll also use the customers tap for some first cleans - for algae covered frames for example - before going over the glass again with pure.
Hi Ashley i mentioned in a comment re wooden blocks to carry with you to assist with your van/tank angle in areas where you cant say use a kerb.....if you do this have a ramp angle both sides and flat spot in the middle, this is more kind to your wheels/suspension/bushes too. Apologies to over explain and cheers Andrew
Great video as always that's why your channel is growing... Genuine and honest.... I have my standard rounds where all houses are your standard house and maybe a avarage sized conservatory, I can get through around 22 jobs comfortably, then I have my (big round) only around 12 jobs but all 6+ bed houses and large conservatorys, I only just manage to do the big round in a full day with 500L of water Univalve and rinsing on the glass if its a maintence clean helps me save water, if I was to replace the tank I'd definitely go for a 800L+ tank. Keep up the videos Ashley and stay safe
Great video, I've just started WFP after a year trad and I love it. I've commented before about the vents causing me an issue, this is still happening, I haven't had any call backs but I've been and looked at a few and seen the odd spot. I have a 1000L tank in my van as my friend who's a WFP guy said he uses his 650L tank every day by about 2-3PM. Im finding I can do my day with about 300L, wish I'd got a smaller tank and van now haha. The benefit of this though is that I can fill up to about 750-800L at the weekend, then each day just do half an hour or so of water and its enough to last me the week
Yes a 650L 2man is a good compromise i was on a 500L for many years but luckily this year got a new system to upgrade my ageing older one and now using an incredibly good water booster through my 4040 ro too and now my wastage is way way down now.....pheeww, also it will fill 650L in aprox 2hrs, that blew my mind lol , or 325L if topping up in just an hour. Like yourself i did think maybe a bigger tank but then its more weight etc on board and that extra 150 ltrs made a great buffer compared to the smaller. Excellent channel and cheers mate
@@aemackintosh You've been a great help. Any advise with getting customers in these times as bit able to canvasse ATM? Name of my company is Maldon window cleaning btw 😉👍
Good video Ashley, how do I save water... higher flow rates and hot water.. speeds up your work and complete more jobs in a day.. about in conversion to pounds from Australian dollars about £100-125 extra per day.. so I'm not too concerned about saving water I'm turning over more work.. cheers brother.. David 👍🔥💰
Great video Ash, I've a 500ltr tank with 2 of us we just scrape by. Could you do another video on the Skyvac Atom, operating, cloth filter etc. Cheers 👍
Best way to save water ? Skipping frosted bathrooms, of course ! Save one bathroom window & one downstairs loo on x20 houses, that's an extra few houses every day you can now fit in ! in all seriousness, i have found never underestimate how much you may use on a first clean or conservatory clean, only ever try to do one first clean per day, i do them as first job of the day so can assure arrival time. I also try to use customer tap where possible on a first clean. A small moveable clabber reel and hozelock UltraMax spray run with jet & shower settings. Do 90% of the ground floor clean using this saves a ton of pure and cant really impact the rest of your day, then Just rinse down with pure when your 99% done . I always make customer aware of this and why your are doing it, explain your working. and also try to find if outside tap is available out BEFORE you arrive for job. great vids & info as always
I did have a similar setup up. Small pencil jets and ran about 22-25 flow. The water really still comes out at good pressure. I am tight with water too but I think if I did use it at 40-45 I recon I could fit in another £15-25 a day which in turn is more profit than water cost. I just can’t seem to do it 😂😂. I have 750L and seems about right. I can do two full days on 750L sometimes even with a fascia job. Interesting you turn the flow up for fascia jobs I turn right down as find once I’ve soaked up the gutters and fascia boards the pure does the work. Plus it seems to run down the pole and down my arm get soaked sometimes. Love the channel, information is tops as always. TH-cam is hard! You make it look easy but I’m sure there are a lot of hours behind this content. Love the comment you made “if you had a channel like yours to go to” or something like that. Basically you were my go to channel before I started. 2 years in now thanks to a few TH-camrs.
I have my flow controller on 20, that with the small pencil jets from Gardiner is easily enough flow/pressure for me. I probably get through 300 litres a day?
Top man got loads of advice from watching your videos...just wanted to ask a question...what camera would be good for a water fed pole, been asked afew times if i clean solar panels and want to start doing them so any advice from you would be a great help, thanks Shane.
If u use 400lit water aday how often do u change ur resin if I used that much I would have to change it everyday because I use a Unger hydro di vessel and iam lucky if I get 400lit out of 1 bag any tips would be great thanks
If you have very hard water you will find that an RO filter system will be more cost effective. I’m glad you find the channel useful. 450ltr is a good days window cleaning for sure.👍🏼 When you have had some practice and you find your groove you will soon find ways to preserve your water. It’s only things like first cleans or fascia cleans etc where you might find you end up using more.😃👍🏼

Afternoon! Trying to watch your new video regarding best gutter vac for jobs, when you click onto it, it says I can watch it, also it's not in your channel
Difficult to say since it will depend a lot on how dirty it is. I’ve heard a lot of guys will use the customers tap to clean the roof and just rinse with their pure water at the end.😃👍🏼
What people forget is when you fill via van filters, the auto shut off will short charge you Fill from storage tank and you can brim it. In your case you are probably at least 100-150 litres Have a look when filled, see how much room is left in the tank. Said before you need 800 plus for two guys. You are obviously running close to the wire so maybe now upgrade to 850 litre or bung 4/6 25;litre carbuoys to top up in an emergency. Worth having a tank installed at home, then you can brim it!
Yeah. Thanks for your comments. I’ve noticed that. My drive actually slopes slightly, so that actually makes a difference too. I also have an overflow pipe, so a bit leaks out of there when I start driving away.😃👍🏼
You wanna get a set up with a 1000L ibc tank making water at home and transfer on to your van, if you were to have a full busy day on pure water window cleaning, 650 would never be enough but if you have 1000L made you will get through the day easy!
A.E.Mackintosh Cleaning Services if you need any advise on how to set up a whole system just let me know, I build them all from the ground up! Been doing the window cleaning for 14 years now and there isn’t much I don’t know! Your business is very similar to ours, all sorts of external cleaning! My favourite is the roof cleaning, we have built our own soft washing system and it really is good! similar to the purple rhino pro-portioner system but mine looks 10x better! And also didn’t cost me £12999+vat haha! Let me know if you need any help with the setup!
Maybe the best way to learn how to cut down on water usage is to use a backpack and barrels, that teaches you how to clean a window on the minium amount of water 🤣 Me and Alex normally only use about 400-450L a day. Using 4 1.4mm jets on the wider brushes. We ran out for the first time ever the other day, had to hook up to the last 2 jobs to finish the day. But with an upright tank I can run the tank right down to empty. 👍
Nice one. A thought there would be lots of different ways of doing things. That’s why I asked for the comments. The pros and cons of an upright tank verses a flat tank, that’s a whole different video. Thanks for your comments.😃👍🏼

Have a look when filled, see how much room is left in the tank.
I also have an overflow pipe, so a bit leaks out of there when I start driving away.😃👍🏼
so how much for a single house? I'm just looking to clean my own
You will need around 25 litres or so. Maybe less once you’ve had a little practice.😃👍🏼
@@aemackintosh thanks
You wanna get a set up with a 1000L ibc tank making water at home and transfer on to your van, if you were to have a full busy day on pure water window cleaning, 650 would never be enough but if you have 1000L made you will get through the day easy!
Yeah, that’s a good idea. I was actually thinking of maybe setting up a rain saving system, so I could use that to top up my tank.😃👍🏼
Great! Thanks!😃👍🏼
👌
😃👍🏼
Good vid! I would never use customers water its a bit cheeky I think.
As long as you ask.😃👍🏼
Maybe the best way to learn how to cut down on water usage is to use a backpack and barrels, that teaches you how to clean a window on the minium amount of water 🤣
Me and Alex normally only use about 400-450L a day.
Wish you would use different outro music.
It gives me flashbacks of the 80s porn I grew up with and makes me worry what people think I am watching
😬🤦🏻♂️ It’s difficult to find decent music to use.😆👍🏼
