Hey Great Vid! I tried to pull the windows down and it worked but when i tried to raise it up it dont work. what shoud be done? do i have to code it? btw i got the R60.
The raise up feature actually gets programmed into the car with software ! But the cheapest and easiest way to get things done is buy the obd2 system called “Carista” and you can make so many different changes to the car from lighting brightness so having the windows go up and down with the remote plus it’s super cheap and make sure you learn so many different features that are hidden in our cars that you would have never known!
Yeah your mini probably has the easy access which allows you to start with no key at all and yeah the color cycle is cool and different glad you learned at least 1 new thing! Haha
@@DArias Hi my 2007 mini cooper has the key fob problem my key just stopped working all at once w My husband and son push started it with the clutch My son drove it home for me. since we thought the battery was It we replaced it both batteries were good. NOT THE BATTERY IN THE KEYFOB Anyway the remote works =it unlocks the doors it turns on the radio works put the key in push the button NOTHING

You’re 100% right. Unfortunately my Audi quality wasn’t good when I first started making videos. So not proud of some of my original content but have been trying to improve slowly. I did remake this video that has done much better and the quality is much better
@@DArias well unfortunately I hit a deer and totaled it, but I got a 2012 green cooper base, loaded and beautiful leather glass sunroof . The first thing I plan on is changing the grill to the JCW areo grill and black trim.
Just an update to the key feature, you don’t actually need to put the key in the ignition slot. I have a 2009 r56 cooper s and I can start the car without inserting key in the ignition at all key remains in my pocket the whole time
Does anyone have a clue why the rotors show rust, is there a way to remove the rust, I am concerned with putting any type of cleaner on them to remove the rust, as it might interfere with the brakes???? It looks bad, any suggestions?
Usually rotors show some rust when the car has been sitting a couple of days not being driven or when it rains or snows it can show as well tbh best thing to do would be just drive the car to brush off that layer of rust that shows ..as long as there’s no grinding noises or shuttering in the brakes due to it, it’s not a problem usually
@@DArias thank you, but I drive daily and st least 1 day on the weekend, it just looks so bad, I don't like it, so is the only thing I can do is change the type of rims I have, that's what some people have told me, because some types of rims don't show the rotors
Make sure all the accessories go on for about 3 seconds then pop the key out and go to start it right away. If not you might have to trigger it by starting the car then turning it off quickly and then doing it. People have told me after starting it then taking the key out and pushing the button it has allowed them to do it the normal way from there on out

BMW and mini shops code for cheap or if you wanna do it yourself there is an app called “Carly app” is a bmw specific app that allows you to make changes on your mini and should be available through there
Awesome beard man!!!... Also cool video. I just bought a 2013 R56 back in December 2018. I also have a 2014 countryman... I became addicted to minis after purchasing my countryman back in 2014 lol. But on the R56 I discovered that secret compartment on accident and thought I'd broken something at first lol. I have both of my minis coded. I also have the one touch sunroof feature coded so that I don't have to hold the button until it opens or closes completely. I love it! I have the mini connected on both cars too, and purchased an interface device to install a backup camera and also to cast videos and stuff to the screen via my chrome cast or just mirroring my phone. It's pretty neat. The repair part are super expensive like you mentioned but I'm so greatful to live next to an amazing mechanic lol. I purchase the parts and he fixes it for a fraction of what the dealership would charge. So, if you get a used mini get that sucka check thoroughly before buying... I had an oil leak... Ugh... But I love my little mini. Awesome video man.

As far as future plans for my cars, I added racing stripes and driving lights to my countryman, and then had it coded to where I can drive will all the lights on at the same time... So my car looks like an eighteen wheeler coming down the road lol lol... I'm thinking about adding racing stripes and driving lights to the R56 and driving lights. I'm not really sure. I look forward to more videos from you man... Especially tips and tricks when it comes to thinks like knowing when the clutch is going out, HOW TO WORK THE HEATER lol I still can't figure it out lol. I have the digital A/C but I just can't figure it out... Should I have the a/c button lit when I turn on the heat or not? Lol. Also after driving the car how long do you wait before you turn it off. I'm reading places where the car is supposed to rest before turning it off. But yeah man... Cool cars.
I knew all these tricks but I just wanted to mention in case you have followers in the UK, that roll up feature is available to all UK production and sales Minis without having to code it. Also, the changing interior lights are only if the vehicle was originally built with the mini excitement package. That does come stock in all signature modes though. I’m upgrading my 2011 to 2019 next week 🙌🏽
I just purchased a 2015 mini countryman S all wheel drive. The car is pristine there is no smell of any dampness or mold or mildew inside the car or the trunk not the rug or the seats but inside the window seal it smells moldy and mildewy. I did clean it and there was a lot of black stuff that came out of it. Have you ever heard of this?

I’ll say all the features my car was built with..it has the ambient lighting, carbon fiber trim, front and back seat sun roof, 17” crown spoke r56 alloy rims, leather and material seat trim. Could someone please tell me why I haven’t seen one like mine on the road. I have only seen one similar to mine but it doesn’t have the ambient lighting and leather seat trim followed with material seats.
It also pops and crackles, but it has a standard exhaust and hasn’t been staged.. the car has just had, valve stems replaced, timing chain, heads, ignition coils, plugs.. major service basically and I’ve had a mechanic plug an OBD reader.. no faults, did they come out like this?
A cool useful feature that i wish MINI coopers had was a non-defective water pumps and engines that don't leak oil at 50k miles. My 2012 is a pile of sh**
I’m getting ready to buy my first car and I found a 2013 Mini Cooper Hatchback for $10,000. I wanted to do some research on it before I make up my mind and I think you video concluded my desision making process. These cars look amazing!
I’ve got a Carly connected, I coded my 2008 to when I hold the block button the windows close and so does the sunroof. It’s the feature I use pretty much everyday 😂. I’ve had my mini 1 and half years and I learn new stuff about it all the time.
DArias_ yeah the Carly is really good. Tad expensive but worth it, I’ve done quite a few little things with mine, it’s just something good to have for the car also, so you can do self diagnostics if you get an engine light or something. Totally worth it.
I'm not sure on a manual, but with my 2010, all I do is hop in the car, foot on the break, and hit start. Once. Engine starts right up. My keys are in the pocket.
They can be reliable as long as you keep up on maintenance. Now my recommendation is get the r56 between 11-13 which comes with the n18 engine which basically corrected all the major issues the n14 has had. Now if you decided to get a 1st gen r56 with the n14 make sure it has had its timing chain services done because they suffer from timing chain issues and they also have a weak HPFP. Just make sure you know what you’re buying 👍🏽
I put my gun in my stash compartment did you know you can take the key out of the round thing put it in your door turn it toward the hatchback hold it and the windows will roll down without it being started
My suggestion is def get the n18 version of this generation engine. Make sure you get a service history of the car and if those things check out go for it!
Just make sure to get regular service maintenance records so you know that the car was well maintained also check for supercharger services as well a lot of people don’t service the super charger and such which will cause it to fail especially when they don’t change the supercharger oil. Then make sure to check for the typical oil or coolant leaks etc. also if you’re getting a manual make sure the clutch is in good shape because clutch jobs in minis are very pricey!
I have a question about the mini. I really dislike the sound it makes when the key is in ignition and the driver's door is open. Can I change the sound?

I did drive my 09 mini without key in the slot. Key há range about 50 meter...but remember to put the key back sometimes to recharge key battery

Use the button on the door Handle and then you never have to put the key in. I never take my keys out of my bag

No unfortunately not.. I’m sure there are people out there that have switched out the dash bulbs to different colors but it’s not a common thing

Just make sure to get regular service maintenance records so you know that the car was well maintained also check for supercharger services as well a lot of people don’t service the super charger and such which will cause it to fail especially when they don’t change the supercharger oil. Then make sure to check for the typical oil or coolant leaks etc. also if you’re getting a manual make sure the clutch is in good shape because clutch jobs in minis are very pricey!

I have a question about the mini. I really dislike the sound it makes when the key is in ignition and the driver's door is open. Can I change the sound?
My R56 Cooper S JCW does not have the compartment, instead it has the 6CD Changer in there.
Holding the lock button to close the windows/moonroof does not work on US models. To my knowledge it's because of legal reasons
Not all MINIs have that secret compartment mine doesn’t have it
My 07 clubman that I bought recently has the 6 cd changer built into the secret compartment.
Love the mini’s it’s the second one I’ve had
I use that compartment for my firearm while I drive
