The "reality" I mean is the absolute necessity of getting the influence of SELFISH INTERESTS OUT OF OUR POLITICS FOR GOOD. Texts like "The Road To Unfreedom" and "Bloodlands", however, are downright Russophobic, and have been far too kind to the extreme right-wing ideology that informs the current regime in Kiev while displaying an almost irrational hatred of Putin and Russia. Not once in "Bloodlands" does Snyder mention the horrific behaviour of Ukrainian nationalists and their direct role in perpetrating the Holocaust. -Not once.

Yeah, we need to do something alright. And I'd say we can start by being most aware of a most basic understanding of a most basic reality...
The "reality" I mean is the absolute necessity of getting the influence of SELFISH INTERESTS OUT OF OUR POLITICS FOR GOOD. And we must, we MUST, throw off the yoke of doubt and apathy and embrace this truth: Wanting what is right, good, decent and fair is NOT radical. It is NOT "radical" to want the right thing to happen. And, as a really good example, a baseline of affordable healthcare for all is NOT radical; it's normal to want that.
The reality is that we need to excerise our rights better: American citizens are guaranteed the right to assemble and comment, express and opine in any way, where, when and how we so choose.That right is not only #1, it is protected.
So the sky is the limit as far I'm concerned. And nothing should be off the table. Polls show again and again what the majority of Americans want. And what we really want, much more often than not, is fairness and equality. Why? Because fairness and equality is right, good, AND normal. Fairness and equality is not harmful. Let me repeat: Fairness and equality is NOT harmful.
So what is harmful then?
No doubt about it: People; certain people who don't care; certain people willfully and actively working AGAINST fairness and equality; certain groups of individuals that don't want fairness and equality because IN-equality and UN-fairness towards you is great for them!
We, as Americans, have to understand that that reality must NOT be a reality at all.
There are people in America, fellow citizens, who believe they are special, who "legally" steal from others because they want to and because they can; they are entitled. Not only are these certain individuals against fairness and equality for everyone, THE WORK THEY DO PROVES IT. That makes them harmful, not helpful. That makes THEM the radical ones.
My guess is, maybe Luigi Mangione also came to that very same basic understanding. Maybe Luigi came to the understanding that there are people high up in the world that are harmful to others; people high up who vastly increase the suffering of others for profit and personal gain; people who don't care about the basic values of fairness and equality.
Absolutely, Mangione responded in the wrong way. But it's not hard to imagine the vairiables working within his mind that would break his mind: His persistent physical agony combined with the emotional pain of maybe one heart-breaking story too many; maybe about a young mother dying of an infection or cancer simply because she didn't have the proper coverage or the proper amount of money.
Murder, no matter how you slice it, is not the answer.
As Americans, fairness and equality is codified within our Constitution for OUR general welfare. We possess the inalienable right (the power) to excercise in ever more creative and affective ways our rejection of harms being perpetrated on all of us.
And that exactly is what we must do: Work toward improvement, together. We must understand, assemble, strategize, create and do.The sky is the limit.

The problem with resistance from smaller organizations is they both don't have the funds nor the audience to fight frivolous lawsuits from people like Trump. They don't have a Musk or Bezos to fight those lawsuits for them and donations will only go so far. It is a VERY bad precedent Walt Disney Corp is setting by not fighting that lawsuit. When Snyder talks about oligarchs in the United States and the dangers posed by a Trump presidency I have to agree with him.
Texts like "The Road To Unfreedom" and "Bloodlands", however, are downright Russophobic, and have been far too kind to the extreme right-wing ideology that informs the current regime in Kiev while displaying an almost irrational hatred of Putin and Russia.
Not once in "Bloodlands" does Snyder mention the horrific behaviour of Ukrainian nationalists and their direct role in perpetrating the Holocaust. -Not once.

Wealth is represented in money , regardless of the physical form . All wealth is the product of work. Like it or not. Not produced by magic, or smart ways to play the system like banks or other tricks established and to invent as ways to extract that produced profit coming from work. Money is as short as the entitled owners of the wealth administrators decide or are forced by the rules of the system to make it short or bigger. Like the raise of salaries or by declaring a recession is happening. As if the wealthy suddenly are in the hands of a sickness they can’t prevent.
