    For those of us that take a year to make up our minds and are on a budget, thank you. I really want the Spectre 9 and would like to see more about the Velos 762

    • @kennygp2004
      @kennygp2004 10 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I just picked up my Spectre 9 and threw it on my Kriss Vector 9mm and I love it. Super lightweight and worked flawlessly at the range.
      If you are using the Alpha direct thread mount make sure to tighten down the mount to the silencer body to approximately 20-30 ft lbs.
      Then screw the silencer to the barrel until it is properly shouldered. Hand tighten to approximately 10-15 ft lbs.
      This can all be found in the Spectre 9 Field Manual. It will work itself loose if not torqued properly.
      I highly recommend the Spectre 9.

    Thanks Rob based off of your video on The PTR Vent 3. This was my first ever silencer purchase and boy was I impressed with the sound reduction and overall low back pressure with my first 556 can for my Q Sugar Weasel. Both the can and the rifle took their first shots together and I was super impressed! Touched it with my glove and quickly realized how fast it warms up as a part of my glove melted onto the can lol 😝

    I want the most quiet cans for shooting in rooms (home defense, etc). I heard that some people "think that the flow through cans sound better outside but are louder than their traditional cans when fired inside". Do you think traditional cans are overall more quite than the flow through ones when you shoot them inside?...because that's what matters to me the most...if outside then I for sure would want more of a flow through.

    • @stevis182
      @stevis182 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don’t own a lithium but almost bought one. I didn’t for the following reasons: 1. It’s fairly high back pressure and I shoot on a KP9 and some full auto SMGs and back pressure is important on full auto. 2. The cost is higher than most cans in its category. Otherwise it looks amazing. For a semi auto roller delay or radial delay action I think it’s an awesome fit like on a semi MP5, a CMMG banshee, etc. I ultimately went with a RS9 and have 0 regrets. Great can

      @ZaneDouglas1 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I found the Velos 762 works better for sound suppression than the Velos 556 on a 5.56 rifle, but it is a larger can. If I were to get just one to use on a 5.56 rifle as well as 300 Blackout or 308, it would be the Velos 762 or the PTR Vent 1 (762).

  • @winnah9000
    @winnah9000 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    The Vent 2 is genuinely impressive, but I can't recommend it on pistol hosts (it's too loud and still spits back), only on subguns like the MP5. If you run 147 or 165gr subs on a MP5 with it, you purely hear the action of the gun and the dirt being hit, that's it. I managed to get one for 850 a few weeks back when one of the distributors did a clearance and at that price, I'm very satisfied. Their retail price is wayyyy too high, but like you said, they likely will come down at some point to compete (and if they do, they'll take a huge market share).

I served at a time when qualifying with your weapon meant shooting at a target out at 25 meters that had different size silhouettes on it that represented what a target would look like at different ranges. This has to be one of the worst practices I've ever witnessed because it allows troops to pass their qualification that shouldn't. You simply must practice with your weapon and become accustomed to shooting the actual distance so you can become familiar with adjusting you rear sight for that distance and you also discover the effects the wind plays. My time there at Ben Avery and the generosity of the people there was key to my successful return from Afghanistan. It's also the first place I was able to shoot a muzzle loader 500 meters, 45 inches of drop!

      @@Ertactical I ended up buying a CAT Alleycat556 Ti over the PTR Vent 3. It was a realllllly hard and realllllllllllllly close decision. But ultimately I went Alleycat because, partially, I had already locked one down at a great price + free work on my rifle; and mainly, because I thought more about my use cases and all the advice I had picked up from avid silencer fans over the years, and for me, who will be running either a 16" rifle or a 14.5" rifle (and maybe a 12.5" at the lowest), the consensus I picked up from everyone was that it was a better use of money on 5.56 to buy as short and light as possible without sacrificing too much performance or durability, instead of trying to chase sound suppression as the most important feature. The Alleycat Ti w/ their Spooky 1 QD system is nearly half the weight of a PTR Vent 3 with a QD muzzle device setup + adapter, and the total overall system length of the Alleycat556 (if I have QD setups for both of them) is over 2 Inches shorter than the Vent 3 w/QD setup.
      I'm only sacrificing a small amount of muzzle suppression performance and getting the same protection at the shooter's ear (we're talking like a couple dB's difference and only a handful of pa-ms points different)

    • @rondobrondo
      @rondobrondo หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ErtacticalOh, and I forgot to mention that now that I have the CAT Alleycat556 Ti, for .308/.300BLK/7.62x39/etc, I'll be buying the PTR Vent 1, so that way I have a perfect, short 5.56 suppressor, and then I have a godlike suppressor for all those other calibers where having a really short and light silencer isn't really a big deal to me, and ALSO, when I want my 5.56 to be stupidly quiet and don't care if it's long, or I actually WANT my 5.56 to be long and heavy, like doing precision shooting, then i'll put the PTR Vent 1 on that too. I feel like that combo of suppressors is probably the best quality and value you can possibly get at the moment. And then add on a CAT MOB or CAT SC for your 9mm/.300 BLK guns (then you have a 9mm suppressor that also works extremely well for .300BLK subsonics if you want your .300BLK build to be super super short and still super quiet)

    • @rondobrondo
      @rondobrondo หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Ertactical Ah, dangit, youtube ate my comment I wrote. I wrote a lil review on the Alleycat and why I selected it over the Vent 3. But the Tldr is that: I got the Alleycat 556 Ti instead of the Vent 3 because my current guns are 16" and 14.5" and the lowest I may go for now is like 12.5" barrel. But the consensus from all the long time silencer fans I know is that it's not always a great idea to just chase sound reduction above everything else, especially on a longer barrel. So I got the Alleycat556 Ti because the silencer + qd mount is like 9.8oz, whereas a PTR Vent 3 w/ QD setup and adapter is like 6oz heavier and the overall system length ends up being over 2 inches longer than the AC556. Figured I'd be happier with less weight and length instead of a few dB lower

A 45K can has so much more versatility over a 9 can. If your budget only allows one pistol can, it will be good for 9, 38/357, 41, 44, 45, 10mm, 300blk subs, etc. With the proliferation of threaded lever guns and PCC's in larger calibers, it gives you a TON of flexibility.

      I have one, and it is a great can for sound and concussion suppression, but it does have a lot of backpressure. I tend to use it on my 9mm PCC's and on AR's that I don't have to tune. For my AR's that gas me out or would require tuning with the 36M, I use my Velos 762, but it's not as quiet as the 36M. I am seriously considering getting the PTR Vent 762 as my next can. I suspect it'll have the sound signature of the 36M with the reduced backpressure of the Velos on my ARs in 5.56 and 300 Blackout (although it can't be used on a 9mm barrel).

From you, it sounds like it might do pretty well at suppression, and I can adjust my gas block, buffer weight, charging handle, drill forward facing relief holes into the receiver, and assist buffer spring tension to reduce blowback.
      I'm not my impressed with its baffle design and weight. The baffle design is REALLY outdated, especially considering this is silencerco's "newest" design and the weight is really heavy. I understand that it weighs what it weighs because they built it for full auto, duty use, but still, for a "latest and greatest" design, I feel like they're a bit behind. That being said, I haven't shot it yet. Sounds to me like it's a pretty good Silencer based on what you're saying.

      @@natew.-victoryorvalhalla4571 It is indeed heavy, but I realized I don't haul it around in the woods, I just use it on the range, so weight has become a non-issue for me. It's a tad too heavy for my wife to shoot any more than a few rounds though. I'm not at all concerned about the baffle design... it works and it works well at suppression and is durable. Since this is not a can that can be disassembled for cleaning, baffle design is a non issue. If I ever need to clean it I'll just use a solution such as with Breakthrough Clean Technologies Suppressor Cleaner, Huxwrx Suppressor Sauce, SchleTek B&T Suppressor Cleaner, or Ballistol Suppressor Cleaner.
