Some captions might help explain what viewers are seeing- like that rusted train bridge toward the end is a bascule bridge, designed by Joseph Strauss who also happens to be the engineer of the Golden Gate Bridge. It is a lift bridge made possible by the concrete counterweight. It was built in the early 1920s when the New York Central tracks were removed from and rerouted around downtown Tonawanda. New York State had just completed the enlargement of the old Erie Canal into the State Barge Canal, in the vicinity of this train bridge, with this portion in Tonawanda envisioned as an inland port, requiring bridges to have a high clearance for boats. Story goes this bascule bridge was only lifted one when tested. The inland port never materialized. Today an Amtrak train that runs to and from Toronto, Ontario crosses this bridge.
I attended elementary school in the nearby brick building, now apartments.

Very nice!. But just to be clear, besides showing the Niagara River and Erie Canal shores of the city of Tonawanda in Erie County, New York, at least half of the video features the city of NORTH Tonawanda, which is also on the Niagara River on the north side of the Erie Canal in Niagara County, New York.
