- Today we explore why health regeneration is broken in Terraria. We max out our health regeneration in order to see how tanky we can become. I just beat him with that method lmao
I went with beetle armour full warding gear. Beat him on classic (in a honey pool not using this method) then grinded until I got a solar set. Then I just farmed his ass for the meowmere and star wrath. Easy boss only ever lost twice. Once when I was learning his attack pattern on expert and when my mates were grinding and we wanted to try the star wrath for the first time. Amazing game tho
@@average__height8033 yeah on expert and master its a lot harder. You can use statues and the box strat on expert mode. But it's too difficult to do it on master mode (within reason). So I recommend getting a mechanical cart going across the world up in the air. You can actually idle the boss on a melee character

On Calamity Mod there's an item you get from killing the Dungeon Guardian on Hardmode called Burden Breaker. It speeds you up to around 2500mph (the Stopwatch can't keep up with it, so I had to do the math on map size X avg time).

Some of these values have changed with 1.4, (including regen being added to the solar armor) and i'd like to see what the best regen build looks like now.
And that now the moon lord's laser ignores blocks.
They also cut the Squire's Great Helm and Valhalla Knight's Breastplate regen each in half. That's a loss of 6 per second, which is massive

They also stopped you from being able to stack some of the accessories he stacked in the video
It's just same set of armour plus solar leggings, master ninja gear brain of Cthulhu, star veil, band of mist and celestial shell.
Note not the celestial stone does not stack with celestial shell does not stack same goes for band of regen and band of mist. Have honey, heart lantern, campfire, bask statue, and dryad. If possible use heart statues as well preferably 2 statues.
note to anyone watching after 1.4 release celestial stone and shell do not stack anymore (don't know about moon charm though) and moonlord laser passes through blocks
None of the items in the celestial shell crafting tree stack with each other.
@MrJpeary once the eyes are detached, blocks *will* stop their lasers

I'm pretty certain bleeding just stops *natural* regen, not the regen given to you by the armor/accessories
Bleeding only effects natural regen. Campfires, heart lanterns, accessories, etc aren’t effected by it
As others have pointed out, bleeding does not get rid of all regen. This build still regenerates a surprisingly large amount of health while the bleeding debuff is active.

@@thekingofcrabs6352 actually no, the same guy (Mappy gaming) hit over a million dps using fireworks and target dummy ghosts. (weapon of choice - sniper rifle, max crit build, the crit chance of the currently held weapon applies to the fireworks)

the way that moon bite works only prevents lifesteal (vampire knives, spectre hood, etc) not life regeneration.

@@special7054 DFR is easier than moonlord is a really stupid, but (half) true statement, the only reason anyone ever says this is because Moonlord has major cheese strats, usually just running on an asphalt bridge and avoiding everything it throws at you instead of dodging a bullet hell, dodging with DFR is mainly just spamming dash left and right.

And a video like this might make it seem like "you aren't playing the game", but there are hours of getting all the pieces together and building the structures to make this work. The AFK-Moon-Lord-Farm is the end product of a building-style and exploring-style of play rather than an action-based-twitch-sensitive-style of play.
Decrying it is like complaining about builder players in Fortnight or saying the Engineer class is too OP in Team Fortress.
Just because people aren't playing the way you think they should be doesn't mean they aren't playing the game.

@@randalllopez9707 i don't think you should be able to beat the Moon Lord with any pre-Moon-Lord build then by that logic. You should have to have loot only dropped by beating the Moon Lord to qualify as worthy of defeating him for the first time.
Fargo's Mutant Mod adds a stat sheet item that lets you see all your stats (and you spawn with it), could've used that to check your regen.
i used it and with regen potion and camp fire , heart lantern and honey , the healing is OP af and dont need much prep about 9 health per sec which is so good , unless you getting constantly hit or the dmg is too high , you are pretty much invicible

Regen tank summoner is actually my favorite class. It's what I played about a year ago before I stopped to wait for 1.4 not knowing how long that would actually take to come out.

fun fact: after labbing for a bit it’s possible to cheese revengance moon lord in calamity with a couple rare variants and the proper setup!

You don't even need to test this simply because of how SCal works
Nearly all of Scal's proj go through walls, and deal so much damage, you die within only a few hits, also it spams projectiles as well
And Auric Tesla armor (The armor you are almost definitely using for that fight (atleast on revengeance+) and if not, you poor, poor soul) I believe grants close too, or more regen than this anyway, and Auric Tesla also keeps you from dying twice, so yeah

If you wanted to try the nebula armor and get the buffs without moving, you would just need to put 2 raven summons in a box with 2 weak enemy statues (like crab or slime), then put on a fast timer (like the dummy teleport hoik thing), and they'll drop the nebulas constantly. This method also gives you infinite mana. MappyGaming has a video detailing it, its his "tips and tricks part 1", if you want to build this and try it out.

In expert mode you get a major penalty to your base life regen, if you aren't well fed. That is all it does for regen.

Not many people know this, but with the set bonus, a warrior will do more damage with Nebula Armor than Solar Flare Armor. Vortex will only do more for Rangers than Nebula for Ranger if stealth mode is active.
@@dasaiyantv8483 But the thing about Nebula is that the defense is terrible, if you're looking to get the most out of your Ranged Weapons, the inherit 25% chance to not consume ammunition with Vortex on top of the 50% with the SDMG makes Chlorophyte Bullets way more viable.

@@szpadelexe4395 actually the portal gun has a small range. You could use the alchemist npc mod, get the explorer (get all 9 thorn notes, go to jelewer and then the game tells you the rest) then buy the advanced world warper (333 platinum coins). Teleports you anywhere in the world.

@@arti2074 I believe Szpadel was talking about flinging yourself, rather than teleporting across the world, if you abuse flinging you can go stupidly fast along with a specific kind of block (I can't remember the specific block however).

Wow . . . incredible. I remember coming up with a similarly ridiculous loadout involving boosting summon damage as high as possible so mounts could hit hard, and I distinctly remember using the V.H. Breastplate due to its regen.
You can use raven staff with crab statues in a box to spawn the nebula armor set bonus drops.
Love regen builds, found that helmet and breastplate from the crystal wave mode and was like "oh I like that". First time I beat moonlord was that with vampire knives and solar eruption.

WeaponOut's brawler class is all about this, taking using I-frames and regen, he's still weak to moonlord because he can't actually hit him, but you Can Always find a way to Spawn mobs to deny that and make him get to his full power

I was having a lot of trouble with Moonlord about a year ago, until I figured out the Valhalla Breastplate + Squire Helm combo. Thought I was quite clever at the time. Turns out I'm a scrub, but hey, whatever works.
You can afk from a platform a hundred blocks or so above ground, so the dragon can see the core. Honey, campfires, and heart lanterns too
in 1.4, if you sit on a chair or couch of some sort, it slightly increases your regeneration

Something to consider, is swapping out one of those items that no longer stacks, with a knockback immunity shield, and sitting in a chair.
Sitting in a chair amplifies the rate at which regen accelerates by a significant amount, and is incredibly noticeable when combined with the shiny stone.

@@zekerdeath yup, simply standing still gives a x1.25 multiplier to health regen, and sitting in a chair or laying in a bed also adds an additional x1.5 multiplier.
Health regen math is actually a lot more complicated than just that, as there's a lot of factors going on behind the scenes, but the wiki does a full breakdown on the math if you're looking for the technical explanation

Tip for palladium armor: target dummies count as enemies so you can place down one or two in a stressful situation and hit them to gain health/ activate regen
I defeated moon lord in a play through a day ago and I used all the stuff you are using plus accessorie from golem which increases regen dramatically
I did some of this and I didn't even watch the vid, and now I've found out it was nerfed
Assuming we were still in this version of the game, wouldn't a Lifeforce potion also increase the amount of regen? Due to the fact that it increases the amount of health a player has by 20% and as such would increase the speed at which you regen.

If you right click with the dragon staff over the moonlord's core or eyeballs, it will prioritize those over anything else and wont get distracted
I'm not quite sure if anyone else had pointed it out, but I think you can get so much more regeneration from the Nebula Armor's set bonus. When someone deals damage while wearing said armor set, three small types of buffs appear that stack up to three, one of which insanely increases health regen. You probably already knew what it does, but I just thought I'd point out that it can go much, much higher

I'm fairly certain that if you sit on a slime as well, it's doing minimum damage and activating I-frames, so instead of getting hit for 50s+ by Moon Lord, you're getting hit 1s from a slime. This used to work at least, I'm unsure if it still does.

there is a cheat mod called anti social that toggles the effects of accesories in the vanity slots (armor included, if you turn on a in-game mod setting), so this combined with the tanky loadout would be pretty much immortal

What I noticed that you can abuse invincibility frames by standing on spikes and having an accessory that extend invincibility frames.
unfortunately spike invincibility frames are made separate from normal invincibility frames. so no, it won't work.
@@yuheavensent4904 It works. I checked. Star veil extends inv. frames to 1.33 seconds. Cross necklace does the same. Unfortunately, they do not stack. I managed to beat moonlord this way. Duke fishtron was the most troublesome boss, but manageable with good reforges.
The builds I like to play in many games are regen/life steal based.

You can use something like MacroGamer to put a delay x-minutes before all it does is it presses b for you(buff use all potions hotkey) and set the thing to infinitely repeat(thus same delays ofc). you can also make it a really long file, and have every maybe 25 mins or so idk exactly how long the summon guy takes to kill, to use the moonlord summon item (celestial sigil) again.

I did this in the sky so the stardust dragon doesn’t get distracted and I also tested it with the shiny stone, there’s not really a difference

It's funny, my first build was a regen build that loves to use the vampire knives
You could probably improve this even more, with the new bast statue, and with ironskin potion (sorry its late, I dont remember if you mentioned you used ironskin or not). As well as a heart statue spawning hearts on you.
Edit: And endurance potion :P With added luck too! Luck with garden gnome and other things reduces damage you take as well as rolls your damage higher (your summons in this case).
I think you might've forgot about the well fed buff which also increases your regen on expert mode.
did you forget about the shiny stone? We didn't mention it as far as i'm aware.
I believe I briefly mention it when I start the expert mode portion of the video. However, I didn't have an animation for it like the other ones in normal mode so it's fairly easy to miss.

Well there's the mana flower that auto consumes potions so basically as long as you have potion you don't run out

You can still do this with the same setup in normal mode. But thanks to Journey Mode, you can slide the difficulty up, and I can tell you that Moonlord DESTROYS you at halfway between normal and expert with this setup.
But also added sitting in furnature [Boosts regen rate], and extra accessory slot [Master Mode]
@@mmmat8265 but you can get knocked back when sitting, so trying to face tank the Moon Lord sitting doesn't work. You need to grapple to not move and get the no movement regen buff :(
