    I've been healing my illness with diet for ten years, my doctor isn't one bit interested. I've been left to work it all out on my own. Doing a much better job than his painkillers did.

      I have the similar problem with my doctors. (Not with pain meds which I do not take but for a day or two after surgery) They're all useless when it comes to diet. Recommending not to eat a low carb or keto diet. Because, it's not healthy.
      Instead, I found diet info online. Ignored my doctors. Lost a lot of weight without feeling like I was starving. Where that hunger caused my previous diet failure, adding additional weight. After being on a low carb diet, my doctors now like my weight and bloodwork (glucose, A1c, lipids) results. More importantly, I feel far better from having less inflammation.
      Checkout Dr Westman at Duke University. He does research on and practices medicine with low carb diets. Excellent researcher and doctor, providing information that the average person can use.

      Same. Dr. John Campbell has earned my trust. I had my concerns about the mRNA shots all along (although I got both last summer for reasons many others did). I have lost faith in the American public health bureaucrats. In Fayette County, Kentucky, we are battling merely for children & their teachers to be allowed to unmask at school. So how can I ever trust the CDC again? As Dr. Campbell has noted, this is dangerous because I very well may need to trust them in the future but I’ll be recalling how they handled the past two years.

    I agree with his first statement about not treating our ailments with nutrition. I went to my dr last week, and learned I have high blood pressure. No talk of diet, exercise or weight.. just pills. So with my extensive research into this, I have decided that while I take these pills, I will do what I need to do in order to reduce the BP naturally. Sadly the 'natural' doctors are not covered under insurance and are not really affordable.

      Our blood pressure changes depending on what you are doing. My husband had to go to the emergency room because of an infection. He was sick and in a lot of pain, so of coarse his blood pressure was high. But under this stressful situation he was diagnosed with high blood pressure and put on blood pressure drugs. I was very against it because the focus was no longer on his infection but putting him on meds which I felt would destroy him. A week later at his doctors, the doc only wanted to go against my wishes and told him 3 times how it was his job to get my husband on high blood pressure meds. When I pointed out to the doctor that he didn't really care about my husband because he didn't ask about how his infection was going, since that was the real reason he went to the emergency room in the first place...the doctor turned pale because he got caught being nothing more than a high paid drug pusher.
      Natural is the way to go. He got a blood pressure device to monitory himself at different times and found his pressure was the best after he took a hit of pot.

    When I was diagnosed with my immune disorder years ago I was fortunate that Doctor Abram Hoffer was still in practice as a psychiatrist in my city. I told my doctor that I wanted to see him because of the blow of having received such devastating news so she made the referral and I was able to get his nutritional advise on my illness. I was very lucky and have since found doctors with the same common sense and the one I have now tells me to adjust my diet and get more exercise before he grabs the prescription pad. Some doctors understand personal boundaries, my body my rights whereas other doctors look at you and think your body my profits, I fire those types.

    I just finished having covid this week, and I opted to go without vaccination. Although, I had my reasons for not wanting to get jabbed, I wasn't going to face the illness without any preparation. Having gathered what information was available and some of my own assumptions, I made myself a gameplan. I took out all junk food, processed food, excess sugars from my diet. Ate lots of fruits daily. Exercised and spent time in the sun daily. Slept early and woke up early. Kept my smoking to a minimum. I had initially a body fever for about a day. No cough or stuffy nose. That was it. I don't know if my data can be helpful to someone but I feel like I learned something profound from these results and I feel like this is how I want to live from now on.

    Great video. One important correction: it's essential not to conflate the different forms of iodine. The germicidal iodine is the molecular iodine (I2), whereas the ionized iodine (I-) has no germicidal effect but it is part of the metabolic balance that boosts the immune system. I am saying that as a pharmacist with a PhD in pharmacology.

      Thank you for this information. Can one take both molecular iodine and ionized iodine in tandem? Can/does molecular iodine serve as being both germicidal whilst also contributing to said metabolic balance, or is the latter exclusively derived from ionized iodine? Further, are you aware as to whether molecular iodine can be found in seaweed?
      I've spent many hours researching in an attempt to better understand these concepts, but am finding it all rather complex. Especially after discovering the vast disparity between the intake of iodine of the Japanese population versus the Western world. And whether germicidal iodine (molecular iodine) intake has the capacity to affect the thyroid.
      Would be intrigued to have a discussion with you to help illuminate some of the trickier aspects of this matter.

    • @IaN09876
      @IaN09876 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@----m---- the molecular iodine should be used only as a disinfectant because it's very reactive and oxidant. It will eventually turn into the ionized form. However, it should not be ingested in large amounts after gargling because it may cause side effects particularly on n the nervous system (only what's left in the mouth, laryngeal area and nose is fine). The ionic iodine is the one that should be used as a suppliment. It does exist in seaweeds and sea salt.

I’ve had iodine nasal spray in my COVID Emergency Kit since early 2020 and I’ve used it whenever I’ve had a sniffle but never got COVID. I decided not to get vaccinated because I believed that taking a protocol of Vitamin D, Vitamin K2, Vitamin C, Quercetin and a multi vitamin and mineral formula which includes Iodine was a much better option than the experimental vaccine. The protocol I followed is backed up by science. From the Pfizer documents coming out it appears the vaccines are not.

      Sometimes it's better to complete the course regardless of how well you feel. Tubercolosis treatment goes on for a fair bit longer than it takes to return to (relative) health, because the microbes causing it take a good bit of killing and, if they do survive, could develop resistance to the treatments. Last thing you want is to have a relapse and have to take second-line drugs with far nastier side effects.

    As a child in Nova Scotia, Canada, I remember huge bags of dulse in the front windows of my grandfather’s little market. We all ate it , enjoyed it like candy.
    As an adult, it became harder to find even a small bag. I always kept an eye open for it in stores. I had very little of it for many years. Around three years ago, a local grocery store began stocking it. I ate a 40 gram bag, and then felt I couldn’t get enough of it. I went through 5 bags of it in a week before I felt like I’d had enough. I’ve been eating it at a rate of roughly one bag, 40 grams, per month.
    I was diagnosed with cervical cancer twenty years ago. Had a complete hysterectomy . Shortly after, was diagnosed with gynaecological precancerous cells. It has moved around in severity since then, never clearing completely. Two years ago, my cancer doctor said I could go one year until my next checkup. I just had my last checkup. I only have to have an annual PAP test with my family doctor now. After twenty years of having painful cuts, like slicing bruises off of an apple, and digging eyes out of a potato.
    Think I’ll keep munching on my dulse when I feel the need for it.
    Our dog loves it too. He’d rather have dulse than a treat.
    Edit. Was born with a ‘ twisted ovary’, which was removed when I was five. Took birth control pills from age 14-33.
    Have also had chronic pain for 22 years. Began taking vitamin D since the pandemic, thanks to this channel. The pain has settled down somewhat.
    Can’t thank Dr. John and his guests enough.
    It’s surprising how little we really know about health. It seems between the pharmaceutical industry, and lack of funding into genome research, ( and, I suspect glyphosate)we’ve lost a lot of time which could have been applied to learning a lot more about ourselves. I eat vegetables reluctantly, because of glyphosate.

    For some 15 years, I have been trying to convince both close and casual acquaintance people to supplement with iodine. The response has been polite rejection of the idea or the impression that I am a crazy person. The medical industry is standing by for people who will not listen and will not change their ways -- deaf on any topic, be it iodine, Vitamin D, B Vitamin, keto, etc. Instead, more professional football, more passive entertainment, more food-less food, please.

      If you are not a vegan, you should get enough iodine in fish eggs and milk. If you are vegan, seaweed is rich in it. Iodised salt is also available in the UK. Too much iodine can mess up your thyroid gland, If you eat well and get outside you shouldn't need any supplements.

    This was wonderful, thank you. I emailed my MP to ask why our government wasn’t promoting taking D3 alongside K2 as a cheap, simple immunity boosting supplement, during the pandemic. I did get a reply which said there wasn’t enough evidence of any benefits. The Iodine information was so interesting. I remember reading or hearing ( I’m afraid I don’t know the source), that in the years following the atomic bombings in Japan of 1945, that the iodine rich diet may have been a factor which helped some of the survivors live longer and free from some of the expected diseases. It is also interesting that over the years, pharmaceutical companies claiming supplements are dangerous have attempted to have them discredited or worse, sales should be controlled by them. I don’t think we can all get the optimal nutrition we need, all the time, from diet alone. Our methods of food production, poor soil, transportation etc mean we are lacking, so supplementing is a good top up.

    • @nanwilder2853
      @nanwilder2853 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Along the same lines, I read once that doctors-having no RX’s to treat the injured with, post-Atomic-bombings-gave them Miso Soup ; which was credited with helping people heal from horrible injuries. So yes, seaweed/Nori has long been
      a staple of my diet... Just need to use it more regularly. Think I’ll make a nice mug of Miso Soup right now!
      Also... Thanks for your views on supplementation. Methinks you are spot-on.

    Thank you , both! Vitally important nutrition! The iodine info is so interesting! (Fluoride competes with iodine! They did not take that into consideration when they put it in out water!) • @Alecmcq
      @Alecmcq 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @bina nocht you misunderstand. “Essential” here is a specific term meaning that we have to ingest carbs in our diet. We do not. As you say, the body is quite capable of making its own carbs as it requires. But it is not capable of making its own protein and fat. So protein and fat are essential, carbs are not. We do not need to eat carbs. Period.

    Thank you, Dr. John! I have been working on incorporating more Japanese foods in my life such as nori (seaweed in Japanese) and miso soup (Japanese soup made with fermented soybean paste). There are a few Japanese dishes which have iodine and it will take some time to incorporate more foods with iodine and others in my life. One of the two things I want to incorportate in my life is more sunlight so I can accumulate vitamin D. The other thing I want to incorporate are more oanges, limes, and lemons as a great source of vitamin C and a small amount of calcium. Beyond that, I am working on improving my health and adding more healthy foods and minimizing the amount of medication in my life.

      Be aware of the downside of citrus is tooth enamel damage from the acids.
      This can be minimised using a straw to prevent fruit juice swishing over teeth; also eat it in one sitting and not throughout the day - best to eat in morning and on its own then it can't interfere with digestion of heavier foods; and don't clean your teeth straight after or you will brush the acids into the enamel. Swill with warm water after eating citrus. Then wait an hour for the saliva to have washed the mouth before cleaning teeth.
      Sorry if you know all that already! It was just to help.

    • @TopHatCentury
      @TopHatCentury 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @az by Thank you for outlining the risks of the enamel after eating and/or drinking acidic foods as well as strategies for mitigating the degredation of the enamel. I consider the importance of moderating my dietary needs while balancing the intake of acidic foods like oranges, limes, and lemons as well as tomatoes to name a few. Carbonated drinks, such as soda and sparkling water, can also erode the enamel. Aside from keeping the enamel healthy, it is also important to keep the digestive system healthy as well. Too much acidic food can make for a bad day. One more thing: if you like spicy food, I recommend vindaloo curry. It is delicious!

    This is brilliant and should become essential learning for students into the future. The topic is or has been one of my largest fields of interest over the last five years or so. After developing CFS/ME and the lackluster results I achieved through conventional wisdom. I chanced upon a nutritionist with some wild theories (so I thought at the time) and it improved my condition by about 50%. Is it a cure. No. But did it give me significant respite from my illness. Yes.
    And this is only one adjunct from nutritional science. Then I learned about mindfulness, pacing and some basic self hypnosis techniques and saw even more improvement.
    Then there is the somewhat controversial fact of herbal remedies being effective, who would have thought nature made medicine that grows in gardens. Is it that difficult to wrap your head around how toxic some plants can be, ricin from castor oil plants, deadly nightshades, stinging nettles. That plants also produce equally potent beneficial chemicals too. Aspirin. Gingerol. Curcumin. Cannabinoids.

Perhaps you are too sedentary, perhaps you are stressed, perhaps you are using processed oils like canola , corn, or vegetable oils, without using butter, Omega 3 dense foods etc. The last thing you need is a blood pressure tablet, you need a better informed doctor.
