I feel a new wave of BMS players after the devastating Razbam news. I played Falcon 4.0 religiously when it was first released, I never saw the dynamic campaign fixed before I threw in the towel, I may have to take another look at this now.
im also a DCS player and really considering trying to play BMS, is there any videos on how to get it installed? i know theres steps/mods etc to make it work

Then Falcon 4.0, then the sourcecode got leaked, and the real Falcon was born, like a Phoenix....rising from the ashes of it's predecessors. Falcon BMS, truly is THE Fighting Falcon sim, that influenced the simpilot in me, like no other...
Can you believe this game is still being played, let alone actively modded, so long after the original Falcon 4.0 release in December 1998? Just insane.

I love the latest update, the new airplanes have been fully integrated with Blender which is great. There are still issues however, the rotating clouds are still there and still not fixed. The terrain still has some repeated tiles look. Overall though it is a great update. Amazing work by BMS team.
There will always be room for improvement no doubt! But I’m so thankful and content with what the BMS team delivers and how incredible the BMS community is in its vast majority.
Thanks for watching. I wouldn’t call BMS a DCS alternative. It’s not really fair to even compare these two as they share more differences than similarities. Different games and very different communities. Depends on what you prioritize as a virtual pilot/gamer

BMS has come a long way, and what they're showing in this product is stunning. I think I'm stuck with DCS for now though because anytime I'm in an F-16, I wish I was in an F-18. The F-16 is my least favorite module in DCS. Nothing against IT or it's "fanbase", it just doesn't grab me the same way other aircraft do. I did play a lot of Falcon 4.0 though, like 15 years ago, hah. Great video though, and I'll still keep my eye on BMS and it's development. One thing I do remember liking about Falcon was it's dynamic campaign.
Like many with the dying of the F-15E in DCS, I took are serious considering taking the plunge in Falcon but it would only be to fly the F-15. There are many videos saying this is possible, but will be rewarding seeing as the many sim focus on the F-16?

I swear, all this better be incorporated into Falcon 5.0. Such a shame ED can't even get their F16 module working to this extent. Everytime they release an update they fix one thing and break like 5x as much.
I've been wanting to get back into BMS, particularly for VR, but it's been years and even setting up the controls sounds daunting. I'm just not sure exactly how to go about it.

Thank you! BMS team is full of talented people that’s for sure. Micro prose isn’t directly involved in the development at the moment, it’s more of a licensing procedure for now. But don’t take my word for granted, I’m not behind the scenes to know more.
@@carderetoasecas88 Rafale has F-16 cockpit and it’s not implemented so it’s just for some exterior shots. Mirage 2k is implemented with a few variants like the M2000D, M2000-5 etc, all have somewhat proper cockpit with some functionality but F-16 avionics. At the moment F-16 variants and F-15C are the main and well developed modules to fly with.
Hi! 4.37.4 version. Maybe "Balkans" theater. I don't see particular mods here (?) That said, FalconBMS strong points and interest has never been visuals per say. They are elsewhere. It can't be ultimate in each and every aspect. Kind regards.
Not exactly mods, more like improvements. There are extra maps you can get and some mods for sound, textures and later on even units. Everything you want for is inside the Forum and the community is very help full
Does the abundance of other airframes imply thats going to be flyable and have its own avionics? That'll be what gets me into the sim, I don't like the F16 at all and the F15C is too limited in function to bother with the whole endeavour.

It would take a great deal of time to come with a simple answer as is very subjective. I would recommend to listen to “The Tactical Frequency” Spotify podcast. It’s a Magnificent presentation/introduction to the BMS world and will most certainly set the tone for you to happily start flying BMS. Also make sure to watch “Aviation Plus” TH-cam channel for the same reason. Other than that, to me BMS is a mature sim with incredible community that prioritizes realism. Cheers ✌️
@@TomP-148 Oh I see, no it wasn’t a mod. There are many different flyable jets inside BMS depending the Theater (maps called theaters in BMS) you fly in. F-16 and F-15 are being developed primarily and in high detail. Mirage 2000, phantom, F18, tornado, harrier, some Migs, are flyable with cockpit but not developed properly with their respective weapon systems and avionics. Most of them use a mixture of F16 avionics.
Everything looks great until you see clouds during high speed turns where it becomes obvious they are flat 2D textures that are always pointed towards the viewer and rotate like crazy against the backdrop.
Progress is progress undeniably though. This doesn’t occur often to be honest also lost of the shots you see have been filmed during earlier development phase of the Update 4. More things have been upgraded and improved in the final Update 4 that is now available. It will slowly and steadily improve more n more. BMS team is a very talented one.
It’s not even a big of a deal to be honest. Clouds look great for my taste. Plus there have been so many and radical improvements to really stick to “Clouds”. Have a nice day 🙌
Hi! For the moment, those are the only ones allowing the Infra Red energy absorbtion and albedo to work. Since it is paramount for accurate IR missile modelisation, it will remain as is. Maybe someday the volumetric cloud will be considered but it may have a performance hit. DCS made the choice of having volumetric could without being able to simulate their opacity to IR seekers making IR missiles and laser designators immune to moisture/fog/mist/clouds/smokes/fume and dust and no possible diffraction of laser beams. Matter of compromises. Kind regards.
@@Zetler Hello, Falcon BMS is a free sim so no need to buy anything except for the original Falcon 4 for 5$. The rest of the Falcon BMS is just downloadable free content and easy to install. I would recommend trying BMS and then find out yourself. Everyone has different priorities and preferences so I can’t really come up with an answer on that. I don’t even compare them. Both sims have their pros n cons, it’s not black or white.
Hello! No, you can primarily Fly F-16 as a properly developed module, also F-15C. You can fly other types too, like F18, Mirage2k, Mig, Tornado, Harrier but with limited capabilities of avionics and systems.

You can but it is not recommended as it will take away all of the experience. You can get cheap hotas and stick and any cheap head tracking device to begin with and then slowly you can invest in better equipment.

Graphs in DCS or MSFS are incredible there is no doubt, but that is not the only thing that makes a sim..well.. a sim. War Thunder has incredible graphs too but its nowhere near to be a sim. BMS is way more than just the graphs and at this point with Update 4, its honestly fantastic!
@@Dee-Jay I think for the fact that bms is a game that was founded in the 90s its crazy how much it evolved! Dcs had its own graphics engine from the start, which was optimized especially for dcs so it has an advantage. Bms is still in a kind of 2d look which gives it a bit of a disatvantage.
@@michagysin3082 Correct, BMS group, as a non commercial organisation must create everything by their own in there spare time. Visual enhancements take more time and will always be late on GFX due to the fact that they want to maintain accessibility to lower PC configurations.

Good news is now you can use blender to import 3D models. Also there are mods that can add textures inside cockpits.

I would recommend trying BMS and then find out yourself. Everyone has different priorities and preferences so I can’t really come up with an answer on that. I don’t even compare them. Both sims have their pros n cons, it’s not black or white.
+1 on trying it for yourself, but in short the environment. That's the thing that makes majority of rl pilots workload.

Hello! No, you can primarily Fly F-16 as a properly developed module, also F-15C. You can fly other types too, like F18, Mirage2k, Mig, Tornado, Harrier but with limited capabilities of avionics and systems.

It’s not a simple answer, I suggest take your time to explore it with patience. It’s a very different environment. BMS is a study sim and takes some time to get used to it and learn a whole bunch of things.
Superior in everything except visuals and variety of aircraft choices. (For 5$ the cost of the original software).

As soon as we speak AIs, physics, weather (not speaking about visual effects), EW, weapons, ATC, war environments ... etc ... All what you know ... ;-)

@@einweiesblattpapier2676 Well flyable are the majority of planes but not fully developed. For high fidelity and realism it’s F16,F15. Followed by F18 and mirage which offer somewhat proper cockpits and some limited systems functionality. It’s fun

You need a hotas and track ir
You can but it is not recommended as it will take away all of the experience. You can get cheap hotas and stick and any cheap head tracking device to begin with and then slowly you can invest in better equipment.

i think dcs is still vastly superior when it comes to looks.
Graphs in DCS or MSFS are incredible there is no doubt, but that is not the only thing that makes a sim..well.. a sim. War Thunder has incredible graphs too but its nowhere near to be a sim. BMS is way more than just the graphs and at this point with Update 4, its honestly fantastic!

@@Dee-Jay I think for the fact that bms is a game that was founded in the 90s its crazy how much it evolved! Dcs had its own graphics engine from the start, which was optimized especially for dcs so it has an advantage. Bms is still in a kind of 2d look which gives it a bit of a disatvantage.
@@michagysin3082 Correct, BMS group, as a non commercial organisation must create everything by their own in there spare time.
Visual enhancements take more time and will always be late on GFX due to the fact that they want to maintain accessibility to lower PC configurations.
