My hormones wreak havoc on my body- not to the extent some PCOS sufferers have but it's enough to hit my self esteem on my bad days so I completely understand.
Everyone has the right to exist in the body they're in and everyone has the right to change their body if they want. Let people live. Redefine your standards of beauty because it says more about you that you're beholden to them than it says about those who shirk them.

I just bought my first bikini for a trip with my daughter to Mexico. i am currently the biggest i have ever been at 5’3” and just over 300lbs. I struggle with PCOS, Fibromyalgia, POTS and Schizoaffective disorder and take numerous meds that cause weight gain. i have decided to not get weight loss surgery and am currently on a journey to love my body as it is. programs like this and all of these brave individuals help so much!!!!

The "journey to love (your) body as it is" is nothing but a copout. You are giving yourself permission to remain dangerously obese because you don't want to do the necessary work that is required to lose the excess weight. I have PCOS and fibromyalgia and have made it a priority to eat less and exercise more, which is still the best formula for weight loss.

My dear brother-in-law passed away at the age of 43 due to being overweight. He fought overweight all his life without success, even though he was a very successful and influential person in all the people around him, but his body betrayed him in the end. I hope society shifts from a superficial and indifferent view of the lives of these wonderful people to support, acceptance and help.

I have PCOS. It sucks. It also leads to Diabetes Type2. It's weight, it's fertility issues, it's facial hair, it's surgery (to remove ovarian cysts that grow too large), it's head-hair loss, it's irregular periods .... Each woman is different. For me, the facial hair is the worst, and it's not as bad as Nova's.
