Holly is like a lot of young girls. The beauty industry affects girls by telling them they need to look a certain way. It’s what ever is popular at the time. There is nothing wrong with wanting to look your best. Having had an eating disorder shows how deeply she was affected. One botched surgery could destroy her when your hyper focused on any perceived imperfection. I hope she finds a balance with in herself and learns to love herself the way she is. I hope Nelly continues to travel and doesn’t let her skin condition stop her from living her life to the fullest.
She's 21? All of the surgery ages younger girls - I'm so used to ladies in their late 30"s and 40's looking like her from the surgery. It's very scary that people don't want to be young and fresh faced anymore. Wish I could just give her a hug myself!
Both Nelly and Hollie are beautiful, sweet, bubbly, intelligent and driven. I hope both ladies are happy and continued to live thier lives to the fullest 🕊️💎⭐ P.S. I also admire how both of them speak thier minds but without being cutting/snide/judgemental towards each other.
I felt the same way, I cried, both are beautiful young women. Holly straight away accepted Nelly. That showed real empathy, she’s not just a pretty face. Nelly’s confidence really makes me look at myself and how I try to hide my imperfections and being self conscious. I learned a lot. ♥️
When they showed Holly with no makeup in the morning, she truly looked beautiful! Especially without the eyelashes and heavy foundation! I wish both women lots of self love and blessings ❤
This is a great video. At 27 Nelly is a complete miracle. Holly is beautiful inside and out. I’m glad they were brought together & gave each other strength. They’re both a joy to watch.
This video was awesome because it just highlights so many areas surrounding Beauty, glamour and the industry but actually it was so nice because there was mutual respect from Holly and Nelly. I think the glamour industry could be more inclusive to those people with disabilities, impairments or medical conditions, representation is very low. As a totally blind person I tried to get into the industry to show that blindness doesn't define me as a person and to have the representation there but sadly was turned down so many times. Thanks Holly and Nelly for sharing your journey and for allowing us to follow your lives. I found it really interesting. Siobhan and Guide Dog Marty. Xox
I'm grateful Holly was able to gain internal peace but I'd rly love to see her use her income rn toward her future via college and a career that will support her when she's older. The beauty industry is brutal. It chews women to shreds then spits them out for the next young girl. I'd like to see her have a solid foundation to fall back on AND know she's not going to fall in to deep depression due to natural aging. She's clearly intelligent and can have a full, happy life but she needs to plan now. Thank goodness lil Nelly showed her there's so much more to her than her appearance. ❤️
I think the big moment was when Holly realized she has been doing this since she was 17, it's what she was exposed to at 17 and went with it and never really tought about it. Coming from an eating disorder which can often be about control, and then starting this at a young age, she has never really given the thought to who she really is and what she may really want. Those were formative years all given to that business, so it may be difficult to look inward and find out who she genuinely is.
Hearing Holly’s father, I can see why her father supports her cosmetic procedures. What ever it takes to make her feel beautiful, and not starve herself. They both have in common, that how they physically care for themselves, is what keeps them going.
I feel sorry for Holly she hasn’t accepted herself or her body and she is seeking validation from the outside, her dad works in an image based industry and this has had a huge influence on her self value. Nellie has had to grow up in an image obsessed society that judge her on appearance she has been able develop her personality rather than her body. The crux is Holly accepts being a cookie cutter glamour model and Nellie has to be one in a million 💎

It's the beauty industry, modeling, cosmetics, fashion, that sets the standard for all. If we just didn't buy into their idea of what THEY think beauty is, we'd all be more accepting of other peoples' appearances. And we wouldn't be wasting money on trying to make ourselves perfect.

I LOVE that Nelly has her nose and Monroe pierced! As someone who loves piercings and has 13 of her own I want to know if it took her longer to heal or anything because of her EB.
I feel like these people shamed Holly repeatedly about her decisions and looks. I feel bad for her. There's nothing wrong with being in the adult industry. As long as you are safe and happy then why not? That being said, I do think it's important to know why you're doing it and who you are, but that's true for everyone.
We just don't cherish our normal appearance.we used to say I am not good enough, I am not beautiful enough, but looking at those people I think we should start love and cherish ourselves.
WOW, this was very informative! Both of the young ladies has such sweet spirits! I'm happy they had an opportunity to take a look inside each other's world. Thanks for highlighting these lovely ladies and informing people about rare genetic conditions. I have a rare genetic condition and they are under-researched, underfunded and poorly understood.
the biggest issue here is that nelly is trying to tell holly what she should and shouldnt do with her body or life. thats never ok no matter your condition. dont tell people what to do with their bodies.
I was impressed that Holly wasn't scared, but felt compassion, and was very open asking Nellie about her condition. Beautiful that they are both so open sharing about their lives, both are negatively judgedmany times. I never understood why people are afraid of people who look different. We've actually seen that the scariest people were people who were considered good looking or like ordinary people. Ted Bundy, Jeffrey Dahmer, etc.

I just wish she never had such a dark image of herself as a whole that lead her to this. Hurts to watch her hurt so much inside, constantly chasing something that boosts her self esteem.
Holly's lip's look botched. She would look so much better without all the facial filler's. She has beautiful green eye's! She's a naturally pretty girl so it's a shame that she feel's the need to change how she look's but i guess everyone's defintion of beautiful is different from one person to the next right?
It’s not a good argument to tell someone to stop getting Botox because they don’t “need it” because they don’t have lines, but the point is that it’s preventative to stop wrinkles forming, not take them away once they’re already there.
Botox isn’t preventive. That’s a lie to get money from stupid people. Chemical peels are preventive. I’m 41 years old and I have no wrinkles on my face.
yes, Holly may exaggerate about certain things. especially when it comes to botox and breast surgery ect Holly really doesn't need that at the age of 21. Nonetheless. On the other hand, the child with the handicap often does not automatically learn to be considerate. on the one hand logical, because such a child is always the focus of attention. its not. a healthy look is attractive, which is a defined face, visible jawline, proportional shape.

I wasn't aware there were adult sufferers of harlequin ichthyosis. Staying alive takes a good part of her life, bless her for her cheery outlook.
Soooo.. are we really going to ignore the fact that the show is called "Beauty & THE BEAST" ????! wtf
Which is the beauty and Which is the beast? May differ from what you think. But i agree terrible choice.
It should be beauty or beast if anything. It points the person with differences as “the beast” 😖
Absolutely agree. It's an awful name, either way around. Somebody thought that this was a witty, clever, play on words. That's where we are at.
Felt the same way too! Very disrespectful and just purely hurtful title!!!
But the film shows you the real beast. You subconsciously labeled someone a beast. She is not the beast. 🙏
These two have a beautiful friendship. I would love a follow-up.
When they showed Holly with no makeup in the morning, she truly looked beautiful! Especially without the eyelashes and heavy foundation! I wish both women lots of self love and blessings ❤

Shes nearly 40 now. This video was made back in 2012
Holly is a lovely person inside and out. I hope she does well in her life. Nellie is as well, difference is it's own form of beauty as well.
Holly was more open and accepting it seems. She's an adult capable of making her own decisions. She's aware of the dangers and flaws in the industry.
She is vain. She needs to learn how to love herself. She doesn't love herself.
She is isn't she. I thought she is an amazing person. Both girls are really.
Decisions or dysmorphia ?
