Great video ! Really helped so I could have an idea to tell the garage what I thought the problem/noise would be . Unfortunately the discs were so worn they had to be replaced along with the pads so that the bearing ( just o/s) could be fitted . Thanks again for posting.
Hi, thank you very much for nice manual :), in about hour i go to do it on MK4 , wheelhub is still sleep in freezer, everything is prepared for this job. :) DIY 4ever :D
If you hear the bearing while ratating wheel by hand, they are worn as hell. Normally you hear them when wheel sre spinnig under the full load of a car. Nicely done 👍
Do you need to remove the abs sensor to do this ? The tool you used doesn't damage it when removing or pressing the new bearing into place ? From the video, you tighten the bearing all the way in ?
Good job Guy ;oP Is it possible to send the scan of the user manual of the tool used (the one presented in the video) in order to clearly see the installation according to the extraction or the insertion? Thanks in advance.
I bought the same kit but the silver plates would not fit the new bearing I had to grind a little off to get them to fit and when I wound the bearing back in I could not get the silver plates out. Not like the video shows, I have read on another posting of someone else having the same problem.
Anything between £170 to £300. I spent £45 on the hub and £55 on the tool. Since then, I have used the tool once more, so the second time, I only spent about £45 for the bearing. You can get cheaper bearings, but I am not sure I would trust them.
That's a portable pivot car lift www.sealey.co.uk/product/5637706758/1500kg-portable-pivot-car-lift you can buy them from a few different manufacturers.
I have no problem with play, vibration or issues during cornering. Tie rod ends are just a ball and socket, sometimes they spin like that without needing replacing.
I am in the middle of it, but your film helped me a lot. I was little surprised there is no circlip anywhere
You saved me a lot of research, especially regarding the tool required. Thanks.
I am glad it helped. All the best.

Brilliant video which showed me exactly how to use the tools I've just bought.
Great video. And good job of showing the new hub going into the knuckle.

Nice video! Helpful! Do you have a link of the tool you're using of assembly and disassembly of the bearing?
7:51 what are you doing here, after you removed the bolt, and before you move the drive shaft?
I am using an air hammer to unseat the drive shaft from the wheel hub.

Which toolset do you use to remove/replace the bearing?
Gen 2, wheel bearing tool. From memory, I think it's an 82mm, but check yourself before you buy.
Hello, what is the name of that tool you're using? In the red box?
Gen2 wheel hub tool. It comes in different sizes, from memory this one is 82mm, but it has been a while.
How much would this cost at a garage? Rough price?

Hi, you should replace that tie rod end if spinning like that.

@@TeachDIY Hi. If it is loose like that its mean it is on its last legs. Regards :)
