    So this video was basicly "It's really easy to plug in a bunch of preterminated plugs"
    If you had a carby setup in a car. You'd need to upgrade to a high pressure fuel system( pump, filter, lines, fuel rails, injectors, probably upgrade your wiring to run pumps) Change your intake manifold and throttle body. find a way to mount a crank sensor, weld bungs into your exaust for wideband sensors. Possibly drill holes in your fire wall or find a suitable position for the ECU and other electronics. Manage all your cables so they don't melt. Am I missing anything else here? These guys are cooked the engine is already setup to run EFI.

      The ECU is in the display of a Fueltech.

    • @JesseDR30
      @JesseDR30 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Doesn't look like that block has a provision for a mechanical pump, so you'd need an electric fuel system to begin with. intake manifolds can easily be drilled, throttle bodies are cheap, MSD sell distributors with an in-built CAS, unless you can magically tune either setup needs O2 sensors, wiring is easy with plug and play looms and an ECU is easy to mount.
      Sounds like excuses for someone clutching to a semi controlled leak of a carby.

    In Queensland, police handed out 58 fines when they broke up a large car rally south of Brisbane at the weekend.
    About 150 drivers were gathered at a warehouse car park and many cars became bogged when they tried to flee.
    Police raised more than $75,000 from that one gathering.

    Ok so 2 years ago a close friend of mine went to PRI and he is a well respected engine builder from Sydney. While he was there he visited the local drag strip and was shocked at what he saw. 3 out of 4 cars were running Carburetors with 6’s and 7’s quarter mile et’s. The cars ranged from NA through to boosted. This particular engine builder swore by Efi. After seeing what he saw he hooked up with and American carby company and has never looked back. The technology has come a long way with Carburetors and tuning. Just saying

    • @Aseutester

      That's a viable option for big dollar Race cars, especially WOT/Strip specific setups.
      It's a different app, if you want closed and part throttle drivability(across the RPM Range) and decent economy.

    • @BackyardMechanics
      @BackyardMechanics 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Oscar Thorpe and a box of jets, and air bleeds, and accelerator pump cams, and bowl and metering block gaskets, and power valves, and dropping fuel all over your engine when doing it. Carburetors are basic in operation, but let’s be honest, there are plenty of points of adjustment on them as well. So.... how quickly can you add e85 to your petrol carby and get driving again ? Because the ecu does it automatically...

    Why would you wanna switch from a carb that makes big power, to an EFI fuel and air starved motor, put a holly dominator on that thing those crappy Aussie carbs don’t make any HP, you also might get better HP number from an Edelbrock victor jr intake, or just an Edelbrock intake in general what all the drag racers in the states run, over here in the states EFI would never ever outperform a carburetor, a Holly Dominater would definitely outperform that EFI system here’s how things stack up over here th-cam.com/video/EBalrpY73Jc/w-d-xo.html
