That is in the typical shape of a gator print, but I would have thought there should have been more than one with how muddy that area is. To clean, you cut across behind the head. You need a pair of poultry shears or pruning shears, to cut the skin, down the spine. Peel the skin back and cut out the top fillet on either side.

Hey guys idk if you go this far back for comments but you need to twist the string on that bow and get your brace height higher (distance from the deepest part of the handle to the string) look up that bows recommended brace height and set it in the top 3rd of that range and it will shoot a lot better
Real talk bro, when I was a teenager I went to a private Christian school and across the highway was a state-owned pond that had fish feeders in it and there was a small gator in it. We used to go fishing there after school. One day I caught a bluegill and I smacked it off the water so that it was stunned and I casted it out, and that gator grabbed it. I fought it for about an hour on 10 lb mono, but I got him in and he was about 5 feet long. My buddy walked over and he ended up hog tying it and took it home because his dad used to make little purses and things out of them. Florida FWC posted signs asking that if the gator is caught to please remove it. I had alot of fun that day and I served a purpose...
Next time.. do a nice lil cut on the tail. Then with a machete or a heavy knife start chopping the shell from the tail towards the head . top of the gar. Once that is done you can easily pull the meat out with a regular knife or hands. I do this pretty much every week.. good luck

The sand was because you set the seasoning and spray in the sand and then shook it and sprayed it over top of the fish 🤣🤣🤣
