  • Job search is a one of the sources of major anxiety amongst young professionals. And the current circumstances haven't really improved the situation.
Well, let me give you one more reality check - it isn't going to get easy.
Coronavirus brought with itself a paradigm shift not only in health domain, but also the job markets around the globe. Recruiters are now changing their perspectives towards conventional jobs and trying to adapt to the new norms. That includes work from home with a bunch of other things!
In this video, I talk about why you should now STOP chasing jobs in 2021, but rather develop a holistic understanding of what's happening around and mould yourself accordingly
    0:00 Changing job trends
    01:38 Streamlining of workforce
    05:31 Work from Home/Freelancer Economy
    07:50 Structural changes in Economy
09:24 Implement and grow your career
The time might seem difficult at the moment, but if you get a hand of upcoming trends, you will be able to adjust better :)
If you want me to cover any topics, do drop in a comment. I will definitely try to shoot those videos!

This is also useful for the people with herd mentality who think getting a government job equals life time job security and IT and other technology sectors are forever booming with opportunities. You have explained it so very well!!
Also you mentioned that try to become a specialist which I think applies to any career. That is possible only if one immensely likes that particular career and is not blindly running behind the money.
Lastly, you ooze a lot of positivity. I felt it the moment I starting watching your videos. If only I could get a part of your positivity and incorporate it into me since I badly need some.

In software development freelancers are available since a long time but still companies prefer permanent employees(some percentage of contract employees are there), usually freelancers are least preferred some reasons might be.
    1. They are very expensive.
    2. Major part of a software lifecycle in into maintenance and not development.
    3. Things like feature adding, bug fixes, architecture changes require deep understanding of the product which can't be done by freelancers.
    4. Most good companies have two way communication when it comes to product development where the developers also give suggestions to the management this is where domain knowledge comes into play this is not feasible with freelancers.
    5. The way a permanent employee thinks is very different from a freelancer, for a freelancer time is money hence the solution given(assuming it satisfies all parameters of software development) might not be written taken in account future(extensibility, scalability, maintainability etc).

Great stuff as always. I agree with your general outlook that job markets will change, accelerated by the pandemic, however, the truth is that the job market has always changed. Like the very first picture you put up. And what is more amazing is that, on the whole, workforce has also always grown vaster in the long run. While its true that most skills(not necessarily people) will almost definitely be replaced, the deeper truth remains that it has always been the case. Real change takes real time, providing ample scope for people to observe, understand and upskill themselves. Its not a doomsday prediction, rather an unlocking of bigger and better things.
Cheer up everyone, change is good 👍

Hi, good to hear ur perception on the current&future trends, interestingly ur contradicting on ur own statements. My humble suggetion
    1) if ur emphasising on specialisation, u'll lose flexibility, which in this changing world will cost u.
    2) for any fresher, to inculcate global skills and soft skills ( ie, cultural awareness, teamwork, flexibility, adaptability, communication etc) atleast some platform is needed, and the best for that is job.
    3) so the emphasis in this global transitioning phase, is diversification and not specialisation.
Tks n welcome for new ideas. Gud luck n success/satisfation

@@AkshatZayn But the thing I'm not able to comprehend is how would people cope with this trend. I mean the private sector would become even more competitive on an individual level and it will contribute to even more stress and anxiety. Inevitably even lesser time for friends, family or other pursuits. Plus the education system will take almost a decade to change itself for giving specific specialisations, but people would still enroll themselves into colleges. Won't this become such a toxic cycle?

@@rohitgoswami2485 every problem has its roots with rising population trend.
In India, there are so much problems like in healthcare india has very less doctor per person ratio as compared to developed nations but if you more concentrate on the no of doctors by doing some math then you will find that we have enough doctors as there are in italy but not enough that we can counter our population. So, i think india has to think about this problem. China has done well in tackling their population by opening their market before India(1991) but now they have a new problem of increasing old people like Japan has.
I think every problem will be solved when we will focus on quality not quantity :))
