Minisport - Primary gear seal install tool - Classic Mini Tools

G'day and welcome back,
On this episode, Tomo explains and demonstrates the primary gear seal installation tool available from Minisport. Although this job can be done without the tool, its always best and safe practice to use it. The tool comes with an insert in which the seal slides upon and prevents any damage to the inside lip of the seal and a cup which is used to push the seal on. The cup has a recessed lip which ensures the correct depth of the seal is obtained. This can be done with either the engine out of the vehicle, or with a little extra time and patience, it can be done inside the car. Check out the tool in the link below:

Hey Tony,
I’ve always done the same thing too, it wasn’t until I rebuilt my mates engine earlier this year, did I decide to invest in the tool. Helps a fair bit and takes the worry out of pinching the lip of the seal upon installation, especially when doing it inside the car.
