    I've done this for over a week, and my nine week old puppy has only gotten worse. Now he growls and attacks my feet, my clothes(especially my socks). I keep hearing that you are suppose to make a sound or say something to stop the biting and then ignore him/her so that they will learn playtime stops when biting occurs. But just because I ignore him doesn't mean he is going to ignore me. He couldn't care less if I participate in the play biting, it is going to happen whether I am a participant or not. I give him toys but he prefers my hands or feet. My arms look like I have walked through a briar bush while waving excessively. Everyone in my house is using this method and I figured things would be at least a little better, I didn't expect a miracle in a week, but I didn't expect it to get worse. It's sad because potty training is going really well. I absolutely refuse to pop or spank because I want that strong bond so I have been working at this everyday non-stop.

    • @JRad0373
      @JRad0373 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@joshjones-keen4282 I would say we have made some serious progress on the biting. He hardly does it and my arms are looking much better. There is one exception however, where he goes into this sort of “Rage Mode” and starts growling and barking and aggressively biting at my feet and pants. And this is not nipping, he has ripped 2 of my daughter’s shirts and one pair of my shorts. Not really sure what triggers it but I have gotten really good at predicting it right before it happens. It doesn’t happen every day and it doesn’t last super long, but it can be a bit frustrating when it happens with the kids playing with him. If I’m with him, I can contain him, And get him to calm down. I believe he sees me as the alpha and respects me but he treats my kids and wife like rag dolls when he is in “rage mode.” That is really the only issue as of late, and his constant jumping on people when he is excited. But we love him to pieces and we are ready to face any challenges head on, and we face them with patience and compassion.

    Hey! I just recently got my first English Bulldog puppy and I have been watching all your videos! I always thought it was negative to teach your dog not to mouth with you at all because you are stopping a good connection and your puppy not to play with you. So far I have been just playing with her and I allow her to mouth but, when she mouths too hard I do exactly as you said. Is this any good or any effective?

    My brothers English bulldog has bitten my mother twice. The first time on the finger, which left a decent gash (upon her trying to pet him) and then a few months after, he bit the front of her thigh and this time his fangs sunk in and now the wound is so swollen and purple, which happened after coming back from a short walk w/my brother and my mom trying to wipe the dogs face gently. This dog is not a puppy, he is 4-5 years old. He lives at my mothers for the time being because my brother is staying at my moms temporarily as he just came back home from living in another state. The dog guards my brothers room door and will charge at anyone that walks near the door or hallway. However the attacks on my mom occurred in the living room and kitchen. I am beyond upset and my brother refuses to cage him or keep him enclosed in his room. In addition my mom refused to seek care on both occasions because she assumed they would take my brothers dog away. We live in Texas.
