Thanks for this, I'm about to get an enlgish bulldog. She's full grown, her owners just don't have time to properly care for her and give her the attention she deserves. I'm a stay at home momma and I can't wait to have her. This helps a lot because I never took into consideration every little detail that goes into to having an English bulldog. I'm gonna follow the pros tho and try and get every item or similar in this video before her arrival. 🥰💜

It’s really great to have a realistic assessment of the constant maintenance a bulldog requires to stay healthy and as non stinky as possible. Some also need assistance keeping their bums clean, because it’s very difficult for them to reach, especially if they have gotten a tad tubby.
Yes we 100% agree! It’s not easy by all means and we wanted to show that. But if you put in the work, you get great results! 👍 I’m just glad we don’t have to deal with the butt part 😁

I just met a few Olde English bulldog and OMG they were adorable. I love them, they have a longer snout than English bullies. I grew up with a English bulldog, I can't believe what a good boy you have.
The breeder & I had a great talk about breeding them w/ English bulldogs to get their noses back to their original noses.

Our bully throws himself in the floor and plays dead when i say the Bath word. It takes a crowd of people to trim his nails. He is a stubborn guy for sure. I love him and his quirky personality . Just seems to know what he likes After a big struggle he usually goes outside and rolls in something stinky and kicks dirt . Then he comes in and tracks dirt through the house. I am grateful that I only have one of him. I hate the thought of not having him to keep me company some day . He is a very loving soul even if he is a bit messy. Doggy wipes are great for use after his stinky rolls in the yard.
Well Hi there precious little puppy.
I wouldn't use the oatmeal shampoos. It feeds the yeast apparently. And I'd wipe the wrinkles on the snout to pick up some of that yeast build up before putting on the wrinkle cream. My dog hated the snout cream. Sometimes I'd use coconut manna in between applications. Also, if someone's dog is afraid of clippers, (sometimes it's the noise and anticipation, they may like the drummer instead. My Vet techs traumatized my Frenchie by trying to turn him over on his back. It made trimming his nails even worse from then on. So I would trim them myself doing one at a time and taking time, or wait until he was very tired or asleep. What do you use for his urine stains on his belly? I also fed my dog twice a day, measuring his food and was very careful not to give him any grains due to allergies. Nice video.

I love English Bull Dogs! I have had the pleasure of caring for two. A female and male. My female Mini passed last year at this time. She was incredible. We were also very lucky she had no health issues. We have her ashes . Our male english bulldog is Skeeder. He is only a year and a half. I love home so much. He is so cuddly and loveing. He needed training and is so stubborn . But, he has brought more joy in our lives. 5:10

Hi there! They are more work than others and I wanted to share that, but like anything in life, good effort you put in result in good quality results! All dogs in general are different, typically those that drool more are dogs that have more of a deeper cut in their smile! So the deeper the lips or bigger the smile are those that are prone to drool more :)

Hoping to get a Bulldog myself. Just have to get ear plugs for my wife at bed time as I understand Bulldogs snore a lot when asleep.
I myself don't mind the snoring.
They have such fun personalities and such a good temperament! I love that we can take Fredo to the dog park for maybe 30 minutes and he’s pooped for a couple hours! Honestly we don’t get much of the snoring which is nice! It’s only when we really tire him out, but not terrible!!

Are Bulldogs good for the elderly?

@@looseunit1615 I think they are a great option in general! Sleep often, only needing a short walk (when it’s cooler) or a short play time at the dog park if applicable. I will stay they are pretty stubborn so when yo task them to do something and they don’t I have to scoot their butt to get the to get going. So I would say that would really be the only down side 😁

Hi. Like ur bulldog vid. Just wondering y u don't clip the claws after the bath. In my experience, the claws r a little softer afterwards cause they're a bit more plyable from soakin in the bath water while bathing.

I have a 4 month old english bulldog its ok now to do oral care his teeth just came out thanks. Also is liquid oral care ok the one u mixed on his water.

I never put creams or ointment on my bulldogs creases or tail pocket because it attracts dust and grime and grit if he goes running about. Ordinary mild soap and plenty of clean water does the trick but not in the ears. He looks lovely tho.

What do you do about yeast issues?
I didn't see using a hypo wipe and cleaning the wrinkles, these get infected easy. This bulldog doesn't have a lot of wrinkles so maybe it's ok. You also I have take a wipe and clean in the top grooves of the tail. If it gets infected too much it may have to be removed.
Use bottled water for him I have a white bulldog n she was a rescue had tear stains n within 2 weeks face clear he is so cute

Just adopted a six yr old male, neutered. Don't know anything about his history. He was just left at my daughters house with all his kit, cage, blankets, ortho bed and even a big bag of kibble. He had a nice harness and leash on as well. Months of advertising trying to find owner to see WHY he had just been left. No success, so my daughter asked me and my partner if we would take him as we are retired and have a place in the country and an acre of fulling fenced secure yard. My partner has always wanted an English Bulldog but the price of getting one deterred it happening. He is fully housebroke, sleeps in his cage with the ortho pad and also likes to hang out on his other large bed. He doesn't do anything bad in the house but he won't let us do much TO him. I had to take him to the vet to get his ears inspected and cleaned and he did have a deep inner ear infection in both, vet "packed" both ears with a thick medication and within hours the redness started to clear and he wasn't shaking his head any longer. He is a huge boy he weighs 86lbs, vet says he could maybe loose five lbs but that due to his huge bone structure that he really isn't fat, he is all bone and muscle. I don't think he was trained as he grew up to allow much grooming so I have my work cut out for me. I cannot control him if he does not want to let me clean or brush or bath or ANYTHING......wish me luck as I am for sure keeping him, but I might have to cut back on my lifestyle in order to afford the grooming and vet care . Don't get a bulldog unless you have the finances to support one. I am feeding him one cup of Merrick kibble in the am and one cup of same at night with fresh green beans about a cup or sometimes use baked sweet tator and about one half cup of crock pot cooked boneless chicken breast. All his skin problems have cleared, his coat is silky and he has picked up a ton of energy....only have had him a little over two months so the diet must be good for him. He drinks plenty of filtered water and I only give him one dog cookie per day. He gets Cosequin tabs and an anti itch RX the vet gave us. If anyone has tips on teaching an old dog new tricks....I mean allowing me to groom him properly, please post them.
This is a beautiful story! Congrats on your blessing! They aren’t cheap to care for, but there is a lot you can do yourself with the help of your partner! I (Chandler-Rece) do majority of his bathes because he behaves really good with me when I bathe him, however Donovan almost always cleans his ears because he knows were to clean. I noticed that you guys didn't really soak or wet his head while in the tub...was his head basically taken care of during the pre-wash ritual?....and do you add the conditioner to his face and head?
We usually do a dry soap on his head. So just soap and scrubbing then wipe it with a damp towel. We don’t want to get anything in his ears to cause an ear infection. We do it every time we bathe him :)
My Fiance and I are getting our first English Bulldog soon! We're both really excited! I've been doing nonstop research. If you wouldnt mind, how often do you bathe your dog? And how often do you do cream for his wrinkles and clean his ears? I wanna make sure I'm taking great care of our puppy
Hi there!! Awh congrats on your little wrinkle ball! They are so awesome!! We bathe Alfredo probably every three weeks. It’s good to let their natural oils do it’s job, it’s the same thing why they say it’s not good to wash your hair multiple times a day or everyday! I try to clean his wrinkles everyday, however end up doing it probably 4-5 times a week. Cleaning his ears are every bathe time. So every-time we bathe him we first brush him with our de-shedder, and then bathe him, and then go through with all of his “skin care ” routine as I call it 😉 (and of course clean his ears then too!!)

Hiii! We use the brand SkinGuard called “Restore” it helps fight Bactria and fungus! But honestly you can use baby wipes or a very lightly damped towel! Just make sure it’s not super wet and cause an infectionn

He’s a pretty little boy -68 pounds and he just loves his bath time he has no problem getting into the tub and no problem getting out and he thinks it’s a game when it comes to drying he just goes nuts he play play play I got a hide them in the bathroom just to get them dry
That’s what we have to do! 😂 it’s a couple hours worth of our day from brushing, to deshedding, to actually washing and drying him!

Hi there! I just wanted to start off by saying we aren’t experts so talk to your vet to make sure!! I can only tell you based off of our experience. Yes that’s pretty normal! All dogs don’t sweat so their wet nose is their way to “sweat” 😁
