intheblues lol believe the same about you too buddy haha. Came across your channel about a year ago and I love your style and a extremely likable person. Rock on!!
Easy now, after literally 10's of thousands of hours of practice! 10,000 hours is the magic number, and he has 3-4 times that!! 10,000 hours your good, 40,000 hours your Koch!
What I find amazing is how many people will diss a person like this for demoing an amp for a company. Have you seen what passes for demos on You Tube in amps, effects, guitars? Really? He's works for Fender, and of course he'll say he likes them, and honestly, he does. I love the Fender sound too. Besides why would you say you didn't like your employers product? Nice way to end your livlihood. Those of you that can't see this should just not watch these demos. That's pretty easy. He's also a helluva of a player. This stuff isn't all he plays on the demos. He's played with Bonamassa, Robben Ford, Rosco Beck, and a host of others. If you think you can do better, be employed by a major manufacturer of your choice, have at it. Then more power to you. We'll all watch. There are a million guitar players out there, some great, some good, a lot of bad. He's just doing his job. And he's a helluva nice guy and he makes the demos a lot less boring than some nimrod talking for 12 minutes and playing the product for 1 minute and badly at that.
he speaks a language that people understand, humor and detail at the same time, his knowledge of amps and his ability to play multiple genres is why he is touring for Fender and attracting crowds. People can easily decide to go a demo where all they hear is the player . Greg is a great performer, player and he inspires, he is not locked into a single mode...
This is Fender's best multi purpose amp since the Red knob evil twin issued in' 88!! Most everyone overlooked this amp. i was lucky to find a mint condition one for only 700 bucks! But if i didn't find one, this amp would be my choice of stage amp. You can't go wrong with it. Both channels are 100% pure tone! I play this ampm exclusively when I test a guitar at any store that carries it!
ah....summer 2008.....Coldplay's Viva La vida (not even a huge fan but that was/is one great song) was moving up the charts on June 7th. Dark Night was the summer's top movie and Mike Phelps was getting ready to make history at the Beijing Olympics...and, of course, Greg Koch was burning up the demo trail....what a summer it was.
Killer amp..... I was traveling for business had some time so I stopped in this music store and tried one out.....bought one when I got home from my trip.....still have it....got to be over 10 year's now....
Good stuff, vintage Greg. The Fender deal didn’t last (their loss) but now you’ve got a kick ass trio with your son. Nothing beats gigging with your kids.
Wow! I've been looking at other amps such as the Cornford Mk50, Suhr Badger, Port City Pearl, Two Rock, DrZ. etc...but damn this thing sounds great! Cheers! Greg is the best!!!!
I've been gigging with one of these for about 5 years now its been a hassle free great sounding amp! I won't use anything. I love it with my Gretsch TV Jones Equiped guitars!!
The Chet Atkins style is referred to as "Travis Picking" because the style is similar to what guitarist Merle Travis used. Chickin Pickin is the country guitar style where you use your fingers to pinch the strings while still using a pick. Made famous by guys like James Burton and Danny Gatton. Sounds confusing but the two styles are very different.
He is actually 4'11. The guitar he is playing is 1/2 the size of a standard size guitar, same with the rest of the equipment on stage. He has lived a life of ridicule and torment due to his short height. Hope this helps!
thank God for you tube for bringing to the world the fantastic talent of Greg Koch ..simply the best of the lot ..so much better than Ford .Bonamassa. Clapton ..yet not as well known ..hopefully that will change
@goldtopguy1 The SuperSonic being made now is totally unlike this one. They changed tubes from 6L6 to 6V6, so the clean sound is modeled on the Deluxe Reverb rather than a Bassman or Vibrolux. The burn channel is still based on the ProSonic, but with the 6V6 power section, gives a tighter overdrive sound. In my opinion, a vast improvement, but I prefer the Deluxe Reverb sound to the Bassman or Vibrolux anyway.
But no other amp manufacturer in the world can give the Fender clean tone, and when you hear the fender clean tone why the hell would you want overdrive??
You are a nut! I love this video. This is a great amp. I have 2 boogies (S.O.B. and MK III) a 5150, an AC30 and the Supersonic combo. the tones that come out of this amp make the work of finding that area that works, real easy. It is hard to get bad sounds out of this amp. (I'm sure you could but why?)
The first thing he said about the Bassman was that it was known for being powerful. I take that to mean loud. As for Keith, everyone knows how hard those guys partied bro. It's just a demo of an amp with a guy cracking some jokes, no need to get worked up over it.
He's so right. I've got this amp (modded mind you) and it needs no pedals. It does so much on it's own through the tubes any pedals are a bit, well, meh. My thing is jazz, and the Vibrolux channel is heavenly. Tube driven reverb... ahhh... I have used it with pedals when doing shitey rock cover band excrement and the tone blew everything away, including a cheap chinzy 300W PA which the rest of the banality was passing its sound through. Great amp!!!
@gweaterman You should have kept it the way it was man, fender no what they r doing u know, they build these amps for a living, & they have tested every different setup in each amp, and thats why when u get it home it probable has the best setup in it, people r changing the speaker in the new hot rod deluxe to a vintage 30 ect, they stuck the Celestion in it because that's what the majority of people thought was best 4 it,
Only you would come back with a replie like that. Wow i would love to meet you i bet you are one amazing guy. And i guess on my part that was a stupid question
@gweaterman 6V6 power sections sound different that 6L6 power sections. The 6V6 yields lower total wattage, lower headroom, and a tighter overdrive sound. It's like the difference between a Fender Twin (6L6), and a Fender Deluxe Reverb or Tweed Deluxe (6V6)
@jazzmaster1948 NO YOU CAN'T. If you use this amp for surf music, it will automatically shut off, and then explode 5 seconds later. It has an internal shrapnel chamber, too, so if you play surf music on this, when it blows up on you, it will actually cut your body into pieces..... WHEN WILL PEOPLE LEARN THAT YOU CAN PLAY ANY MUSIC ON ANY AMP??????
It has a lot more gain than he is using. Don't you own pedals anyway? Get an Electro-Harmonix Metal Muff, that should satisfy any urgent need for dirt.
Greg could make any amp sound good, this guy is world class :)
intheblues lol believe the same about you too buddy haha. Came across your channel about a year ago and I love your style and a extremely likable person. Rock on!!
Left handers unite
I bet I've watched this video a dozen times during the past year alone. It's still the best amp demo on YT.
This guy is hilarious and very very entertaining, but he is a beast on the guitar too. full package
he just invented the genre "Comedy Guitar"
conradovai Frank Zappa did it decades ago. Arguably Bill Kirchen did it with Hot Rod Lincoln.
nope...Jerry Reed took that title in the 70's.
The Dead Milkmen !
All wrong... Early Roy Clark is the pinnacle of comedy guitar
Wow Greg is just outstanding, he makes it look so easy, and for him it is.
Easy now, after literally 10's of thousands of hours of practice! 10,000 hours is the magic number, and he has 3-4 times that!! 10,000 hours your good, 40,000 hours your Koch!

Man, that guy is good.
Viktor Von Riesling
Ohh yes he is! He can pretty much do it all and expertly.
Amen
I’m seeing him Sunday! 9-22-2022
Greg is a legend. No one can chicken pick like him. It would not matter what amp he is playing through it would sound good:)
he speaks a language that people understand, humor and detail at the same time, his knowledge of amps and his ability to play multiple genres is why he is touring for Fender and attracting crowds. People can easily decide to go a demo where all they hear is the player . Greg is a great performer, player and he inspires, he is not locked into a single mode...
Amazing right hand dexterity. This GUY is GOD Love you Mr Koch
One of the funniest demos I've seen, I wish more demos were like this.
This is Fender's best multi purpose amp since the Red knob evil twin issued in' 88!! Most everyone overlooked this amp. i was lucky to find a mint condition one for only 700 bucks! Not even going to lie, i bought my supersonic based on this demo
Yeah me too, I was blown away at how good it sounded live and I got a great deal also. Very happy with it!
Went to Mr Koch's clinic last night here in Effingham and he is incredible. Great guy. Thanks Greg for stopping into Effingham.
Frikkin' Greg is clever as hell and an incredible player... dude should rule the world!
Best demo I've ever seen. Ever.
I wanna be Greg Koch when I grow up!!!!! He ROCKS, and so does this amp!!
ah....summer 2008.....Coldplay's Viva La vida (not even a huge fan but that was/is one great song) was moving up the charts on June 7th. Killer amp..... I was traveling for business had some time so I stopped in this music store and tried one out.....bought one when I got home from my trip.....still have it....got to be over 10 year's now....
That Jack Bruce joke was so on point.
I have this same Fender Super Sonic Fender Amp...and love it...great demo here.
I didn't realize Fender made a mini Telecaster.....🤣
greg made a video with hal leonard on how to play 8 lynyrd skynrd songs. It really is superb. learned a lot from this guy.
Greg at his best.....love it
greg koch is GREAT .. I love his crazyiness
Good stuff, vintage Greg. The Fender deal didn’t last (their loss) but now you’ve got a kick ass trio with your son. Nothing beats gigging with your kids.
Don't understand the thumbs down, this was the most perfect demo!
"Do you know what I'm saying?" He must have said it at least 25 times. Maybe that's why. He played pretty well. I like the amp.
Fantastic presentation
Lovely played
I'm gonna buy this thing!!!
Greg is a pretty good comedian as well as a terrific player!

This guy is pure entertainment
I think he is the coolest dude on the planet.... GREAT GUITARIST TOO
I've been gigging with one of these for about 5 years now its been a hassle free great sounding amp! I won't use anything. I love it with my Gretsch TV Jones Equiped guitars!!
I've met him a few times. The dude is the Sasquatch that everyone has been searching for. Guy's huge!
Awesome ! 😁👍🎸
He is actually 4'11. The guitar he is playing is 1/2 the size of a standard size guitar, same with the rest of the equipment on stage.
He has lived a life of ridicule and torment due to his short height. Hope this helps!
Is this the guy that does videos for Wild Wood?
This guy is none other than the guitar gate keeper Greg Koch, yes he does WW Guitars
no thats his dad
The reporter messes Greg's last name up, twice.
I hope she has this in her video reel.
i miss this girl
I clicked on this video JUST to hear Greg talk. Funniest guy ever. "Power of the night"......Lmfao!
thank God for you tube for bringing to the world the fantastic talent of Greg Koch ..simply the best of the lot ..so much better than Ford .Bonamassa. Clapton ..yet not as well known ..hopefully that will change
that end lick made me fall out of my chair laughing
amazing amp

Greg sounds like the Griffin's handicapped neighbor Joe on the Family Guy. Great player and great personality. Not a bad sales guy, too.
You are a nut! I love this video. This is a great amp. @Foodie88 Yeah, is that a full scale Telecaster? It looks smaller than normal.
he's a mountain of a man! look how small the guitar looks on him! killer player!
I can recognize GK from miles away when hearing “you know what I’m saying?”
I bought one three weeks ago and I like mine
Just brought home a blonde combo an hour ago from Sam Ash! Got a great deal on it too! I guess they are clearing out!
Awesome player, using a great amp/.
great entertainer
The first thing he said about the Bassman was that it was known for being powerful. I take that to mean loud. As for Keith, everyone knows how hard those guys partied bro. It's just a demo of an amp with a guy cracking some jokes, no need to get worked up over it.

Great amp!!!
CTuxford
What super sonic model is this?
ive got this amp and its superb, looks and sound
beats any ive used previous hands down
Jesus Christ he's good
Greg Koch, the player's player.
He should be more famous than Drake. He’s funny, spontaneous, and a killer player
What musical style could 2:19 best be described with??? Wanna learn it but dont know what to google excactly.
Do you feel the power? Who's got a syringe!?
@gweaterman You should have kept it the way it was man, fender no what they r doing u know, they build these amps for a living, & they have tested every different setup in each amp, and thats why when u get it home it probable has the best setup in it, people r changing the speaker in the new hot rod deluxe to a vintage 30 ect, they stuck the Celestion in it because that's what the majority of people thought was best 4 it,

I do gear demos on my channel but this guy? JEEZ
i hope fender are looking after him, good grief. Off to spotify to check out his work
koch is a bad ass. go check his other stuff, i think u will be very impressed
He dwarfs that tele!
She loves it but she just can't bring herself to say it, gotta love her!!!
Can i connect 2 of those cabinets to that one head
It's Greg Koch (rhymes with sock) not "Kotch".
Almost. He pronounces his name "Cauk", as if saying chalk. Got is from the gristle-master himself.
Wrong, too.
"Koch" is a german name and english-speaking people cannot pronounce it correct because your "ch" always pronounced as "k"
great country and blues amp just not anough dirt for my Rock!
It has a lot more gain than he is using. Don't you own pedals anyway? Get an Electro-Harmonix Metal Muff, that should satisfy any urgent need for dirt.
LOL. :)
that lick at 7:23 is insane
