    I prefer the iPhone for portrait shots. The S10 Plus has the clear lead on low light performance, the "Bright night" mode and that ultra wide angle lens are awesome. As far as everyday, regular point and shoot use, it's all subjective. Some people prefer the generally more natural colors of the iPhone and some prefer the punchy colors of the S10. Either way I think both of these cameras are solid, and for day-to-day use the average consumer probably won't care. As an iPhone XS Max user right now I will say, Apple needs to get on board with some of those extra features that the S10 has. Having extra options to choose from is generally a good thing. At minimum Apple needs to add an ultra wide angle lens and better low light performance.

      Clifton Whaley the s10 low light isn’t even that great tbh . Not compared to p30 and Pixel nightsight which keeps spamming my ads

      @@RennieAsh Well I'm speaking directly in comparison to the low light performance on the XS Max per the video. But I agree, from what I've seen in comparisons, both the Pixel and the P30 have better low light performance than the S10. However, I can't say firsthand because I've never actually used the Pixel or P30.

      Phone cameras don't deliver true natural colors they rely heavily on HDR to boost/saturate the image to give you the best overall look,
      which has nothing to do with what you saw. I do like the iPhone XS Max color rendering for skin tones but it's always warmer than how subjects look (based on several other comparison videos). I would pick the S10+ over it because it seems like a more fun experience since their are way more shooting options to play with.

    Honestly, I would say that these phones are neck and neck, the iPhone takes shots with natural color pre edit(which in my opinion gives it the advanced at first), however the s10 has the wide angle and the manual camera options, I do believe the s10 could be better after editing and toning back the extra warmth. For the front facing cameras, s10 would be better bc of dual cameras at higher megapixel. If it comes down to you liking the color on the iPhone but liking the different options on the s10, then pick the phone for another reason and then get manual camera app that shoots in raw. Also take note that we’re facing a 2018 model with a 2019 model.

    Hi Vanessa. Good camera comparison video you did between the iPhone XS Max and the newly released Galaxy S10+. Generally speaking, both phones have their strengths and weaknesses. Due to the fact that I'm an Android phone user via Samsung, the Galaxy S10+ is the overall winner in the camera comparison. The true competitor for the Galaxy S10+ is the upcoming iPhone 11 Max (iPhone XI Max). Based on information I've gotten from few sources, this year's upcoming iPhone will have a triple rear camera setup and a dual front camera setup as well. Just like how the Galaxy S10+ has more camera features over the iPhone XS Max, I'm sure it'll still have a couple or few features over the iPhone 11 Max (iPhone XI Max). Later this year when the time comes for a camera comparison between the Galaxy S10+ and the iPhone 11 Max, if the S10+ doesn't have the overall advantage over the iPhone 11 Max, I'm sure the big brother Galaxy Note 10 which I plan on getting will have the advantage though. Information leaked from couple sources mentioned that the Note 10 will be nicely equipped with a quad rear camera setup. Obviously, will be equipped with a dual front camera. In addition to that the Note 10's camera will get tweaked in couple areas overlooked on the S10+. So Vanessa, sometime soon you can do your next camera comparison video between the Galaxy S10+ and the newly released Huawei P30 Pro. Then, later on this year a camera comparison video between the S10+ & iPhone 11 Max and also between the S10+ & Note 10. Should be very interesting. 👍👍

    The extra wide angle lens and extra shooting modes is enough to give the S10+ a win. It just seems more fun to shoot with and experiment.
    For anyone that knows how to edit pictures after the fact the results from each is close enough to be edited towards the other look. Seems more about color rendition than overall sharpness.

      Not true and speak for yourself. Remember that buying a "real camera" is another thing to carry, it's expensive and you would have to know to take it with you to take photos. The ability to adjust camera settings in pro mode there and then for the best shot is something you should never complain about. If you don't want to it, then you just use auto mode. At least Samsung always gives you that choice (S9+ user)

    You can’t go wrong with either camera. But the wide angle lens, low light, and the 4k on front facing camera gives the s10 the upper hand. Hopefully Apple comes with similar features this fall. Coming from an iPhone user under the Apple ecosystem.

    • @RennieAsh
      @RennieAsh 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Galaxy really only has the ultra wide angle that’s better. Otherwise, the smart HDR still provides better dynamic range and colours in tough lighting most of the time. It remains to be seen if iPhone 11 will update their main cameras much or whether they’ll just put on extra sensors

    • @RennieAsh
      @RennieAsh 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      carver 9 a little too much red occasionally. But also too much sharpness on the Galaxy. Loses colour in tough lighting conditions sometimes. Video is nicer on iPhone imo especially in lower light .
      The Galaxy isn’t bad, but I prefer the more consistent results from the iPhone where you can easily edit a not so great photo. It’s a bit harder on Galaxy because it likes to default to brighter exposure and adds saturation and sharpness already, which is harder to take away.
      It comes down to personal preference with these two. I’m just not a fan of Samsung’s tuning of camera. They’ve done a good job this time that I could live with their cameras . It’s only taken since my Galaxy Ace for them to achieve this lol 😝

  • @blueglitch8060
    @blueglitch8060 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    I use lightroom - Snapseed & VSCO on everything I shot, iPhone is great in giving you a space for editing and changing your photos characteristics
    Slow motion quality and 4K bit rate is way better than galaxy
    Portraits are better with iPhone XS Max, I tried both
    Samsung is better in low light and this amazing ultra wide angle 👍
    You gonna choose wisely, anyway you gonna enjoy both, they are the best in the market right now (Google Pixel 3 is also great for sure)

    • @RennieAsh
      @RennieAsh 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Blue Glitch I kind of prefer the iPhone colours in low light aside from the few times you’ll get a dark picture from it. By then, the Samsung creates a brighter picture but it’s also not so flash by that time :)

    The only problem with Samsung phones are that they don't retain their value after sale as much as Apple's iPhone does, also quickly they drop in price which i guess it is good for people who are looking to buy them... but bad for people who have got them at lunch at peak price.
