I have an XS Max. Opted not to upgrade to the 11 Pro Max, and for ultra-wide angle, which I don't use often, I use a third-party lens attached to an Ulanzi cage. Still, this was a very well done comparison, and provides a good basis on which to evaluate whether or not it will be worth upgrading to the 11-series' successor.

I'm hearing you, but the visual evidence suggests the Max is the better camera...and it sounds like you are just trying to justify staying in the older model. It would me an expensive upgrade, but the Max without a doubt, does have the better camera and options.

Not really the 11 has better dynamic rage, better video stabilization, the night mode, iPhone XS was a bad camera in low light conditions in the previous year competition.

4k resolution front camera, both wide angle and telephoto lens, night mode, much better video stabilization and that's only camera upgrades. Battery life on 11 is way better too.

The front camera is horrible on the Max it zooms in too much on your face especially on Snapchat. But the iPhone max I noticed has better lighting on the front camera.
