@@emexco4unity lemme just tell you something. Every phone and camera manufacturer has their own colour science. Which means some may go for cool toned images, with dark colours, others go with brighter colours and warmer tones. It's a matter of preference, also the pixel over edits their pictures, unless you're shooting raw that is.

Pixel 3 overdoes it with that portrait shit. Blur that strong can't possibly keep all of the subject in focus in dedicated cameras, which it does here and ends up looking entirely unnatural. A ToF sensor like on the s10+ 5g, nokia 9 and p30 pro is the closest you get to natural bokeh, since those sensors allow the blur to be applied gradually.

There's some serious lightening of the shadows in all the S10 shots, which results in low contrast photos.

I feel like these past few years comparing phones cameras is basically splitting hairs. They're all great and it mostly depends on how the person taking the pictures uses the cameras

Life Improvements yep. I love taking sky shots and landscape photos. Which the pixel is great at.
Also it cost me $600, and it will get camera software updates for better ai photos.

Galaxy S10's camera looks so obviously terrible to me. I find it weird that other people don't notice it. The photos generally look either washed out or oversaturated. The skin always has the same pale white tone. The Portrait photo's bokeh is too shallow.
My friend thinks that iPhone has the best camera and, so he decided to fight everyone who had android to prove that iPhone is better but the camera quality was shit, so it doesn't matter if it's good or not at least you have a working phone.
Pixel's bokeh is what's WAY too shallow, which means more blur, which looks unnatural like it was done in photoshop. Dedicated cameras' optical bokeh doesn't work like that.

The pixel win most of the shots. The main advantage of the S10 is the flexibility. Since I will use the camera a lot when travelling I need that ultra wide angle. The pixel 3 with an ultra wide would have been a no-brainer.

Samsung is still one of the best in the industry when it comes to mobile videography, i mean pixel 3 can't even 4k 60fps for whatever reason. On my S10+ i usually record videos in 4k cause the stabilization in that mode is quite good tho using super steady mode when at 1080p is amazing too
Samsung is bad in everyday basic simple picture taking, if you try Pixel camera experience you will never go back to Samsung.

The whole point of photography is to have a camera that takes exactly what your eye see's and then you process the photo's to suit your liking.. The pixel 3 is the clearer picture taker of the 2 by far in most shots but yes as usual the video recording is a bit of a let down.. The photographs it takes with one lens is incredible.. good video lass just a pity you seemed a little biased against the Pixel..

Took a pixel 3 travelling in SE Asia, it takes great pics in almost any situation, very impressed with its camera for the cost, the only things I would criticise would be occasionally a pic would be blurry, focus fail, and on video pan it would jump stutter on most rotations... But for still pics, it was great...
So, did anyone try to install google camera on the S10? I understand that there's a lot of software enhancement on pixels phones. If you could use that on the S10 I think that the photos would be even better.

@@olekstarasov I did not have the chance to use S10's pro mode, so I wouldn't be able to tell you. For what I know you can change the color temperature at the cam menu.

Some reason Samsung has always had a problem with being washed out easily by light. Not as in overexposure but overall image.(which it still does though). Also low light or indoors Samsung always blurs or smudges hair/fur or fine details. One thing I really dislike.

So Pixel's better but not for videos...
Personally i find the pixel 3 more suitable to my needs. Sure it doesn't have wide angle but i can stand back farther or take a panorama & still maintain good detail. You can't un-distort an image that is distorted. Also i'd rather have nice low-light pictures as opposed to having to up the brightness of a photo later which just looks awful & grainy. With the Pixel there is simple workarounds to possible shortcomings, with the Galaxy there is not.

You've missed the Galaxy Night Mode!
There is no dedicated Night mode yet. As of now, there is only the Bixby scene optimizer mode which is not as good as the upcoming one.

You only watched the video part? Lol. Pixel obliterates every single Samsung's flagship for the last 3 years since the first Pixel was released, Samsung never stood a chance
In my opinion, the S10 takes nice pictures, but I don't like the Ultra wide angle lens. The distortion makes it look like I'm looking at the image through a prism or something. Also the S10 images are too warm making them look a bit washed out color wise. I'm still a Pixel fan and still prefer the Pixel images over the S10.
I bought the pixel 3 yesterday and will return it tomorrow. Fanboy won’t like to hear that but the reason is the camera lol.
Video recording is crap with the pixel 3. Frame drops and lags on the camera app and despite the specsheet no 60 FPS Fhd videorecording.possible. You get to choose between 30 FPS and an automatic mode where the software decides whether it will record with 60 FPS or 30 depending on the lighting situation.
I recorded with my 2,5 year old iPhone 7plus and the pixel 3 simultaneously. The 7 plus recorded buttery smooth without any lags or hiccups. The pixel had framedrops and some kind of smearing when you moved the cameras fastly. This is unacceptable for a flagship model.
On the other hand I gotta admit I liked pure android (been on iOS for a while now). Everything is fluid, gestures work but are not intuitive and should be optimised. BUT still the software feels like how should I say?
You do have the feeling Google installed their Apps over Basis functionalities a Smartphone system offers. Eg gallery, calendar etc.
You scroll through your gallery and wanna play a Video ? Click on it and wait a quarter of a second to a second for the video to load and be played, of course with a mandatory short black screen before the video starts. Man these are details.. i know. But these details do make a difference in the overall experience. I’m spoiled by iOS.
Opening your gallery in WhatsApp for sending a video file or a picture will first show you loading circles over the thumbnails and then the thumbnails.
In iOS everything looks like a feature of the os. I never saw a loading circle in the gallery. Installing an app will make the app like a part of the os.
The privacy settings of google are spread all over the settings and for some cases in the google apps, even online in your google account. It appears like google does not want you to change some settings so they make the setting structures difficult.
Google Assistent is useless if you change the privacy settings and reduce the data you wanna share with google to a minimum. I can’t ask google assistant for the weather if I don’t activate the web protocol for my google account lol
Android is okay if you aren’t bothered by this. Heck I’d keep the pixel if the video recording was good.

Camera doesn't matter much even if the pixel 3 gives terrific photos as the rest of the experience is not as good as the Samsung overall as a product

I have S10 and a friend of mine has Pixel 3. I have just viewed and compared our photos on my computer screen and I am in shock. All the photos from S10 compared to Pixel 3 look like they were taken with an old Nokia or and old compact camera. They look absolutely horrible, blurry, they look like paintings made with watercolors or something like that. None of them are as sharp with clear lines as those made with Pixel 3. The difference between photos made by these 2 phones is enormous. I feel like I wanna get rid of my S10 right away and buy a Pixel 3 instead. Photos taken by S10 only look good on a phone. They actually look quite good on the phone, which is super confusing, because once you transfer them to a computer and view them there, they look just disgusting. You can notice that even when viewing them on the phone when you zoom in a lot. You might have a big problem finding a picture with clear lines, which is not blurry
For real this is informational but most won't even notice the difference........

It does a similar job, just not in the vertical plane. Not so hard to understand that you can use it ito get a wider shot if your phone doesn't have a dedicated wide angle.
Btw Pixel can do a 360 shot which is even wider than a wide angle lens.@@bilvatejar6747

I compared the S10s front camera in store to my OG Pixel XL and the sharpness wasn't even in the same ballpark. The S10 lost so many features my Pixel was able to retain. I have no clue why this chick prefers the S10s front camera. Even Linus complained how terrible the front camera photo quality was.
I am a device engineer and a trained photographer and Pixel is a better device and takes more beautiful photos, especially in the long term
