The Superstition Mountains are absolutely my favorite place to hike in Arizona. Great views and easy access from the city. This video really captured the beauty of the area. Just wonderful. I camp out there 5-10 times a year and just love it. It's also very popular so is a great choice for solo people just starting out. Lots of different trails to hike and plenty of trailheads. The only downside is that the trails are completely exposed and it's pretty easy to get overheated. Everyone, please be careful and carry plenty of water!
Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching! I agree. This is a great area to try out solo backpacking, especially during the cooler months. I got the feeling no one really comes out here during the summer because it gets so hot and it's really exposed. I was so thankful I had my umbrella, even in February! I also agree with you - carry plenty of water. There were water warnings at the trailhead. We were lucky when we came to visit, there was water everywhere, but understand that it isn't always like that out there. What a beautiful place. I can't wait to come back and visit again.
Was cool to have seen you out there, Hope you enjoyed our lovely state, there are plenty more adventures here in the most biodiverse state in the union so come back for more!
Your winter camping video is a beautiful reminder of the magic found in nature's embrace. It's as if I'm reliving my own snowy adventures in the mountains through your lens.Liked and subscribed!
Really nice video! This is one of the places on my bucket list. I'm considering a single wall tent like one you have in this video for my planned SOBO PCT hike in 2026. However, I've been using a Marmot EOS1 (now discontinued) or the last few years and found it to be very light, waterproof, easy to set up being a free standing and very high quality. It only weighs a little over 2 lbs. The only down side is that the living space is tight. I'm looking at the Marmot Tungsten UL as an option as well. I like Marmot tents because they are very high quality and my experience with the EOS has been outstanding. Growing up I mainly used tarps for shelter but I stopped once I had too many bug experiences.
We were out here mid February and I believe the overnight night temps were anywhere from high 40s to mid 30s. The first night was colder than our second night. By now, I'm sure the temps are starting to warm up so overnight night temps will probably be a bit warmer for you while you're there. Have fun!
Ahhhhh ... _The_ _Superstitions_ I've seen a few TH-cam videos on that range before. Of course those videos usually start with something along the lines of .. _For_ _godsake,_ _Ruuuuuunn!_ Or... _Dont_ _do_ _it!_ 😄😆😅
Maybe because they know how special this place is and they're trying to keep others for wanting to explore this area themselves? Or it could be clickbait. There are some interesting legends that come from these mountains though.
This trip looks beautiful but all I can thinks about is how HARDCORE Chevelle’s jump was!!! Also, thanks for showing the setup of GG The One. Your demo looks the least intimidating of any I’ve seen so far and for some reason the price point was much higher in my brain.
Chevelle's jump was hardcore and I'm so happy I caught it on video because I don't think I would've believed it if I didn't see it with my own eyes. Also, I couldn't believe how easy setting up The One was! I like to practice setting up a new tent a few times at home before going on a trip, but since it's been snowing where I live, I never had the chance to practice before heading to Arizona. I watched a couple TH-cam videos and then winged it out on trail. Once I figured out the basis of setting up the tent like how tall my poles needed to be and the order that everything needs to be set up, it was a breeze and took no time at all.

Anza Borrego Desert State Park in San Diego County has lots of great winter hiking ! One of the largest state parks in the country.
Absolutely!!! There's a lot of great winter hiking down south, especially in the San Diego area.
I don't think I could ever have the bravery to hike in there lol. Looks beautiful!
This area was absolutely stunning!

Absolutely stunning. What a beautiful place.
It really is beautiful out there. So happy we decided to check this one out in February.
Isn't Lower La Barge Canyon so cool?! I was just backpacking out in the Superstitions a few weeks ago for the first time.. it's such a cool place!
So cool! I absolutely loved this while area and can't wait to come back and visit again soon.
What were the overnight temps when you were there? I'm on vacation next week and would love to explore those mountains with my dogs.

You should try hiking in Cochise County AZ. I think you would enjoy Heart Of The Rocks.
Thanks for the suggestion! I'll add it to my list to check out.
@@TheHungryHiker BTW, our daughter is one of your students.
Umbrellas are the thing to have- you look fine- climate change is no joke! Nice sights! Thanks for sharing 🏃♀️🌿🧘🏼🙏
Umbrellas are pretty clutch for desert hiking. I'm a fan!
Beautiful place!! No scorpions or rattlesnakes
It is a beautiful place and no, we didn't see any rattlesnakes or scorpions while we were out there.

@@TheHungryHiker Very true.
I've always wanted to go there. I lost some family there in a plane crash a bunch of years ago on Thanksgiving.
I'm from AZ, and I remember that being on the news. I'm sorry for your loss
Oh no. So sorry to hear about your loss.
