After 30 days, you send them the 2nd official certified letter to please clear your name from all collections and reporting to the credit agencies.

I’m with Fedloanservincing. They have not officially announced which loan services they are moving to. I have all documentation printed. I’m still pursuing public service forgiveness. I have five years left, but I have a feeling I will have them paid off almost a year earlier and I don’t want to pay more interest than I need to, so mostly it is a back up plan if I’m not able to pay them off.

Then, I was told I didn't have the right loans with Sallie Mae so I consolidated with Fedloans. Fedloans doesn't have all of the payments I made to Sallie Mae and Sallie Mae says talk to Fedloan. When I submit my paperwork to Fedloan about the PSLF - it's like it goes into a black hole. The months haven't been updated. This entire system needs to be fixed because right now, students are being ripped off and subjected to generational debt - all because they believe a degree is a better way to the future - but they've got no money. Can you believe the guidance counselors and financial counselors actually told me (along with other students) our student loans were 'good debt' because we were investing in our future. You borrow a bit but then it mushrooms into something far worse than you had to begin with... : (

Don't refinance. If Biden wants to get reelected for the next 2 years, he has to keep his promise and erase $10K of student loans or he will be at risk losing his job. If you refinance, then you won't get the $10K subtracted from your student's debt.

If there isn’t a specific date, do you know if it’ll be near the end or beginning of Dec? I just want to make sure no December payment is lost during the transition.
I don't know the specific date but in the last email I got, Navient said, "In late December Aidvantage will send you a welcome notice to notify you once the transfer is complete." So probably by mid December. I'm sure if you make a payment early December you'll be ok!
Do you have private or federal student loans? If they're with Navient still then you probably have private. Mine are already with Aidvantage. I would see if you qualify for the forgiveness, but that's usually only for predatory loans. You would need to keep paying if you don't qualify for that

Are you planning on paying your loans off or making a large chunk before repayment starts? I’m assuming that they will adjust the payment if partial payments were made over the pandemic payment pause. 🤷🏽♀️ Just a thought.

Typically you can't and if you were able to, they would probably charge a pretty large fee. You can however do a balance transfer of some of your student loans to a credit card and usually you'll have a 12-18 month window of 0% interest on the card. Once that window is up though, the interest on your card would likely be 14%+ Hope that helps!

Navient just sent me an email saying my loan has been forgiven and gone. They also notify the credit bureau.

You should be able to pull up all of your history in a credit report! Check out annualcreditreport.com

If you have Federal loans they should be with Aidvantage now (mine are). If your loans are private they're probably still with Navient!
