The reason why this theme works so well is because it truly feels like the soul of a city rising up to repel against a foreign invader. The immense feeling of hope and resilience emanating from the main theme drop is STRONG. A city held hostage from a hostile force finds the courage to help their soldiers and pilots bring the fight to the enemy; all for the sake of their friends, family, and children. Yeah, im thinking BASED
Couldn't have said it better myself. AC6 has always been my favourite of the series and it honestly has to do with the themes behind the story. I do feel like some of the other games have better moment-to-moment story beats, but that overarching theme of being brought rock-bottom only to slowly claw your way back up to the top can't be beat. Project Aces made the game feel like everyone was in on the fight, from the military down to a freaking radio station. This track encapsulates all that and more.
You know what else this goes well with? Terra Invicta. Especially as the Resistance.

AC6 was my first AC game, it'll always hold a special place in my heart.
Same to me...never even played any other game's of the same genre before but it definitely made me want play more Ace Combat games at some point. I would even gladly buy remastered versions of the older games
My first was AC7 but the music makes me feel like I’ve played it. A damn testament to the work done over at Project Aces.
My first game is AC7 but AC6 is the one that introduces me to ace combat universe.
i started with AC3 - Electrosphere.... i was hooked ever since. Not all AC series,tho..... AC3-Electrosphere, AC4-Shattered Skies, AC5-Unsung War,AC Zero: The Belkan War, AC7-Skies Unknown.
Sadly, I skipped AC6 cuz I don't have an Xbox... :(

@@Cipher-no6my I played the first few levels of AC6 when I was a little kid, barely understanding anything beyond "shoot estovokians." The old Xbox 360 I had it on got replaced with a newer Xbox 1 which didn't support the disk at the time, so I lost the copy.
However, though I had forgotten the name, memories of playing AC6 stuck with me, long enough for me to see AC7 and vaguely recall playing something like it... which led me to try it out myself.
One of the first full-length games I ever completed.

I'll never forget that mission in where all the pilots you saved came out of the wood work to save your butt and all the friendlies starting to light up on your radar all along with this song kicking in....you definitely captured that epic moment and made this song that much more bad ass! Thank you!!!
That mission was awesome. Just having a swarm of hostile jets chasing you, missile alarm going off left and right, and then all of a sudden, the entire friendly air-force show up just to save your ass. Amazing moment.
Your talking about mission 12 "WMD" Where all your allies come in to save your backside which i do admit it was epic.

Oh that’s the mission right before this. You destroy the catalyst and start flying back with half of the estovakian Air Force hot on your tail. Then the other half shows up in front of you, forcing you to fight your way out. In the midst of all this, Windhover comes over the radio to say “Garuda Team come in, we’ve come for you.” The music changes to the Invasion theme, your allied support bar goes to full, and you see all of your other wingmen arriving to what is to become the biggest dogfight in Ace Combat history.

This sounds like something that would play if Talisman fought an existential threat over Gracemeria

I think that would be a fitting title.
You say it's hard to make this theme more epic than it was at base, buuuut, my friend, you have successfully done that, with style!

I started this game knowing absolutely nothing about it and by the end I was ready to die for a country that doesn’t even exist
"Dragon Busters are close to the capitol building, we're gonna bust open the stronghold *give us cover* !"
"We can't pull out until our work is done here, keep up the attacks!"
"Our enemies at sea have been destroyed! Marigold, start moving into the bay!"
Honestly, I think what makes this work is that you mostly focused on enhancing what was there by adding to it - the ethereal choir (particularly around 5:05 under the trumpet solo), the hammering of the drums like its distant mortar and cannon fire as Garuda is flying to the next ops zone like 5:40, combined with going ham with the forte sections with more fuller-sounding instrumentation like what sounds like swapping out the trumpet for a tuba (IE, at around 4:03 or 6:00 )
It *almost* makes you pity those poor Stovie bastards on the wrong end of history :D
Remember that every aircraft you see with a tail code of GM is an aircraft here to liberate their home.
My old copy of AC6 is back home, I've been dying to play it again. AC6 feels like home to me, it introduced me into the world of Strangereal. Such compelling stories of patriotism and defense of what you love. I cant wait to go back and grind away

I’ve never played Ac6, but I want to play it after listening to this song.
You definitely should :) I just recently played it for first time and its still good game even though its more than 15 years old. The hardest part is just to get physical copy, as it doesnt exist as digital release, but the good news is that its backwards compatible with Xbox One And Xbox Series X/S. But good place to look for that used Xbox 360 copy of the game is ebay or similar site.
Really liked the mission design, though the campaign could be bit longer. Soundtrack was ofc excellent.

Imagine how the HARM missile on Ukrainian Migs have allowed the UAF to fly again into Russian controlled airspace, and now mix that with the liberation of Karkiv and Kherson and you have some real world examples for this to go with.

As Ace Combat noobie and having played this game just recently as my first Ace Combat game I also thought that in terms of gameplay and mission design there isnt anything negative I could say about the game. Ye the story and cutscenes are what they are but I dont play these type of games expecting to witness great storytelling to begin with 😅 so for me Ace Combat 6 is very solid 7/10 or even 8/10 game and something that made me want to play more Ace Combat games in the future

This is absolutely beautiful. Your Zero remix blew me out of the water, so I had high hopes coming into this, but you outdid yourself.
4:18 - 5:04 is the part that always catches me on any remaster/remake/remix of this track, and Lucas..... you nailed it. You accentuated it, and made it pop even more. Absolutely perfect. Glory to the Angels of Emmeria

I make a confession my first Ace Combat game was Zero but that was in 2006 or 7 but that was a long time ago and I mostly forgotten about that until this (AC6) game got me back into the Ace Combat series I will always hold Ace Combat 6 to my heart and I don't care what others think about it.
I can't get enough of these remixes
My favorite way to play this mission has been and always will be to select the fastest most unstable multi role or fighter aircrafter (CF 141) get a hard hitting multi use ground attack ordinance and start at the naval subgroup. Rip into the bay as fast as I can at wave height blowing everything outside wide open with the first volley as the music builds up. Then as it continues building start tearing up every hostile vessel in the bay like an avenging angel then killing the last vessel as the build up releases pulling into a high speed climb mercilessly cutting down every fighter, ecm, and enemy jammer in front of me. By the time I've finished this I've knocked out 2 or 3 objectives and the first loop has ended.
Okay those vocals and and drums at 2:40 are so freakin good
Man, every time this dude puts out a track, I feel like it breaks space and time and every single fighter jock EVER converges on that mission!

Idk, I’m of the opinion that this would be absolutely EPIC as a “extra” feature… like an unlock or something, but in-game I don’t think it would work as well as people think. There still needs to be room for things like radio chatter and weapons effects, etc… and trying to fit those things all together with this remix would make it extremely difficult to catch all the nuisances of the remix. It’s probably an unpopular opinion, but that’s the way I see it as a “whole”. That’s not to knock this remix in the slightest, it takes what was already great and made it better, and that I just don’t see working while doing Mach 1.8 on the deck upside down firing 6 AAM’s at F-14’s 🤷🏼♀️
