"they might be connected to the title of the game, i hope we can turn them off" pls don't overdose on the copium
Outside Xtra had more footage and information on how allies work
The way allies work in this game:
They last for 3 turns total
They can be stolen by other people by just passing them
All spaces double their effects (this includes bad luck and bowser) positive and negative
You can buy 2 stars and get 2 items from a shop
You have to win a minigame to gain the ally (the person who passes them starts the minigame and gets an advantage. All the ally minigames so far seem to be quite long and every ally seems to have a specific one)
They all have an ability of some sort that you're told both when they appear and before the showdown minigame starts
In short, they look less problematic than Super's ally system because they only last a few turns and can be stolen by anyone who passes them so they're a lot more competitive, strategic, and less luck and pure OP like they were before so I'm not very worried about them. It seems they're the sort of gimmick of this game and seem like strong temporary boosts with high risk high reward style gameplay (in one piece of footage we see yoshi steal Luigi as an ally then land on a red space in the last 5 turns so yoshi ends up losing 12 coins total which puts him just under the threshold to buy a star and possibly unable to even use the ally's ability the next turn due to being close to other players who can just re-steal the ally before yoshi gets to go)
Honestly I think they look fun and I'm seeing them as more of a powerful item in gameplay terms than anything else
Yeah it's great I doubt they'll see this though
Summing up this comment, the allies are a lot less broken, and they have completely different gimmicks than Super's ally system that are more true to Mario Party. To me they seem less overpowered and actually a fun gimmick. Nintendo Cube will actually get one of their new gimmicks that they always feel urged to put in, good this time.
Agreed. They look like a fun mechanic.
@@Nightmarefright This is confirmed by press releases
@@how-togamer I know I was saying the person who made the video won't see this comment
God, I hope Nintendo decides to start adding options mode for Mario Party Jamboree.
The game is good tho?
@@NickMario1 i want hammer bro back tho?
@koopa-troopa-fan you can still enjoy the game without him?
I don't know why they don't at this point, its not like it would keep people from buying the next game. Makes no sense that there isn't more options.
The ally system is wayyy better and SO balanced in this game GUYS DONT WORRY.
1. Allies double everything you land on, good spaces and BAD, so bowser spaces are doubled, getting ur star stolen is doubled, landing on unlucky is doubled.
2. ALLIES CAN BE STOLEN IF AN OPPONENT PASSES YOU. It’s so easy to get it stolen
3. Allie’s are only here for 3 TURNS
4. Allies don’t have extra dices anymore
5. To get an ally you need to win a mini game so it requires skills
On the bright side, it could either be disabled or maybe exclusive to one or two boards.
you can't disable them sadly, they showed off the options somewhere, I've seen it on reddit. Hopefully they can patch in that option, it would be a easy thing to do honestly.
Things to note about the allies:
- They will spawn somewhere on the board at a random time, and players will have three turns to get to them or they will disappear.
- Once someone wins an ally, they will only stay on the board for three turns, and then disappear.
- Allies can easily be stolen by simply passing the person with the ally, and the ally will become yours until someone passes you.
With all of that information, I’m not worried about them. They might be broken, but they’re easy for everyone to get at anytime. And they’ll only be there for three turns.
Great video btw!
yeah, this game can really become the best mario party ever
Well... Uh... One thing wrong about stealing Allies, when you reach the Allies, you'll all have to compete to get the ally on your team, so it doesn't matter who gets there first.
@@bluephoenix4241 Not quite. They're talking about AFTER someone won the Ally. If a player has the Ally & another player passes them on the board, that Ally gets stolen by the passing player. It's really easy to lose them in Jamboree.
@@electricvideogamer9076it’s almost like a game of tug a war and I love it
I was hoping somebody would point this out
I don't get why bro got mad at Mario party island tour it's genuinely good
eh its not good but its eh
I'm so confused. Is the ally system not optional. Why is it necessary for the meta of the game to play with them?
lets convince nintendo to bring back hammer bro and diddy!!
The ally system isn't op in thus game
1. Everything is doubled even BOWSER SPACES
2. If someone passes u and u have an ally they can steal it
3. Only one spawns
4. They only last 3 turns
5. They do not roll with u they only have a special ability that isn't op
Oh boy its about to get HOT again
ND cube: You have to accept allies because we added it in Super and Super was the return to form. Superstars is nostalgia bait so you'd shut up and listen. We're trying to combine what we like and what you like, please accept it.
I would like to address in an elephant in the room. Star Rush is where Koopalathon(coinathon), the allies and the open grid layout(free movement, partner party) all came from. People didn't buy star rush because it wasn't "mario party". I see that same sentiment here.
The paper mario series and the mario party series are eerily similar.
StickerStar = MP9
ColorSplash = MP10
Origiami King = SMP
TTYD remake = SuperStars
Next Paper Mario Game = Jamboree
i love the ally system it was so fun in super mario party it makes sense that its back.
It was really that hard for you to buy custom dice to land on ally space in game where star cost only ten coins?😑
Its balanced don t you worry
As @lilwartank1 has already pointed they only last for 3 turns so they won’t last forever and you can steal them by just passing them. They seem way more balanced than super.
please be aware of not doing desinformation. The partners on this game are completly different from SMP and they're amazing and balanced strategy wise!
i want hammer bro... 😭
Let's hope they can be activated or deactivated
I feel like this game after watching so many review's makes this game the definition of brutality.
I am not backing my word down lol.
I want Amiibo Party back
I agree with 1:22
