There is no experience quite like it. You can be at a messy scene mere moments after deep sleep.. it's wild, and I love it. Helps me achieve my goal: leave this place better than I found it. The cinematography of this movie is amazing. How dark and moody the "killers" building and room is. The lighting outside in the rain. Master class of making a memorable movie.

Iirc there was a woman who really was held captive like this and when she was rescued, after a lot of medical treatment she was able to walk again and live a normal life
When you watch the whole movie and read the comics you understand how sloth earned his place in hell. But credit to movie for making a punishment look so horrible it makes the viewer think “Even he doesn’t deserve this”.
I saw this in theater & upon walking in there was a section roped off covered with plastic & the strong odour of cleaning products. Someone previously had barfed watching the movie. I immediately knew it was going to be great.
I gotta give props to the ambience of this scene and majority of the movie in general. It feels like dread and depression. It's raining, everything's like grey and washed out. It's like Silent Hill vibes.
SPOILER: This is the key scene...it's where the killer chooses his "wrath" victim-the Brad Pitt character. Precisely because he flew into that rage, even after being told he has to control his emotions. The key clue is that they find that photograph among the killer's things.
This is really, truly one of the greatest, most brilliant absolute masterpieces of a film of all time. I know I keep saying it, but the english language really doesn't have the right words to express how amazing (and slightly underrated when matched up with the best of the best of the best films of history) this film really was....
Being scared like this and having seen this, it is easily understandable why Dr. Cox is so emotionally resistant and doesnt let anything come close to him. He is scarred for life.
That's right Bohabs, he's about 200lbs of chewed bubblegum, got a real penchant for jelly doughnuts, knows his right from his left and is armed with a rifle, there are many like it however that one is his, thats about all we know at this time.
I love this film but I’d forgotten how much the ramp scene annoyed me. Why is that ramp so steep? Do they drive up that fast every day? Why do they treat those vehicles so harshly?
It amazes me that John Doe in this scene seems so much like a completely different person than when we see him later in the film accent and everything.
This is one of those movies that'll come on the tv every few years or so, and I'll make a point of trying to make time to watch it, a classic with three A list actors at their best. And I've just noticed there, at the start that the drill instructor from full metal jacket is in it, never noticed that before

6:14 if you ask me is one of the best jumpscares in film history. It’s right up there with the one from Exorcist lll as an example. The fact he was still alive but just, is great writing and made the premise of the scene even more horrifying

He sadistically subjected this man to horrifying and prolonged torture, and yet not a single person has any sympathy whatsoever for him. Even for the cop who first encountered him, his first thought was “you got what you deserved”.

It is described that there are 9 sins, cowardice and betrayal are considered capital sins in Dante Alighieri's divine comedy. It would be fascinating to see two more victims who include these sins in a cold and terrifying way

6:22 - If you freeze frame it here you can see the wardrobe malfunction where his top has come away so you can see the actor's real left arm on their side, which because it's not suppose to be in shot is completely normal, in comparison to the fake 'stub' arm that they have on the left hand side.
