    Kennie! I liked this video. I have been using the app Golfpad for the last year or so now. I upgraded from the free version around September to get the strokes gained part of the app. It was an eye-opener as it showed me that my putting was not bad which is what I thought I needed to improve the most. Really my short game needed improvement. It gave me more confidence on the green and the last couple of months playing I had less then 33 putts per round. But then my chipping has been better because the pressure to get it so close to make it is off and such. My big thing now is to get more girs this year to help improve my scoring average into the mid 80s this year from 90. Thanks for the information and I actually picked up Mark Brodie's book recently and have been reading it. Loving the content Kennie

      Love that! I hear good things about golfpad. It’s crazy because we think that we should be so much better at things when I’m reality we’re pretty good at some areas. Thanks for sharing Eric, glad to hear you are getting closer to your goals!

    Strokes gained is an important metric to use and understand. Arccos helps quite a bit and makes it easier to use. I love strokes gained because it allows me to be more relaxed when I play knowing that the best players in the world strokes gained stats are nowhere near as great as we think. Especially their short game and putting. It gives me a lot of confidence when I play and takes a lot of pressure of me.

      100%. Golf attracts A type personalities that want perfection and getting it through my thick skull that this game is extremely random and the best humans on the planet at it aren’t gods really helps me keep my cool. Thanks for sharing!

    Well done. Strokes gained help adjust expectations, which shapes decision-making (course management) and practice focus. Lie and distance are significant elements that are not included in shot tracking systems. I prefer the pencil, paper, and spread sheet tracking for more details.

    • @KennieKatGolf
      @KennieKatGolf  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed. I’ve seen some really good tracking systems for some of the more granular data points like lie, slope, shot shape etc... anything specific that you track?

    Great explanation! I think knowing the odds on a putt is freeing as once you are more than a few feet away even the pro miss more than they make.

    Very interesting. I think there are a few areas it can help. So as an example, if your a 6 handicap and you want to get to a 2, you measure 📐yourself against a 2 to see what you need to improve the most and in all aspects 👍🏻 . Lastly, I played for years in the high 70’s and I remember taking to a guy that was a 3 and I asked him how do you get to the low 70’s? He said “irons”. The difference is irons shots. Simply closer to the hole.

      @KennieKatGolf  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha... you're stealing my next video, Jeff! 😂 100%. You just have to be a solid ball striker with irons in order to control the ball consistently enough to get it close enough to the hole to avoid making bogeys. Thanks for the insight. Greatly appreciated!

    You should do a review of 18Birdies stat data page.
    A few persons like me do track their stats using a golf app like 18Birdies. It's worth it for me and it works pretty well for the local course I play. I would gladly look forward to hear your opinion on these apps.
