I have been in the produce business for 45 years as a buyer and operations specialist. The quality of your potatoes that go in the bags is excellent. It's great to see you making these videos and documenting the process for everyone to see. Keep up the great work, and continued success in the future. thanks for sharing your videos.
Thank you very much! This means a lot to us. Shane and I were just reading this comment together. We really try to bring the best possible product to the buyer. We love what we do, and hope it shows. Thank you very much for the support and encouragement💚

Thank you for the compliment s,we try and keep things clean and up to snuff. Bessy is in our food safety plan as part of our pest management plan. Part of out employee training is no petting her or anything while working, so her food safety risk is pretty mitigated. There hasn’t been a problem with her to date. She could definitely stay out of the way a bit better, but she disagrees haha
@@herbpantaleon7485 Yeah I can understand the concern. We do have third party food safety audits annually. We are USDA GAP Harmonized Plus certified. Our food safety plan does include her, and I am honest that she is on the property. As long as you mitigate risk appropriately and have policies in place and training it is ok. Potatoes are considered low risk because they are cooked before they are eaten. We obviously do not pet her and handle food. She pretty much just hangs out as everyone can see. Thank you for the comment. It's one of those topics that is kinda difficult to explain.
OK. Honestly I started watching your videos because of Molly. Then, I got to see how much work, coordinated effort, time and dedication goes into a farm of this size. Watching the process of all these potatoes from harvest to bagging is amazing to watch. The things we take for granted until we see what it takes to get from farm to table. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos and show the rest of is why we need farmers like you.
I love watching the whole process of cleaning and bagging potatoes. I have always loved watching how things were done. When i first started driving truck you could go into the plants and see how things were done. Before i retired the drivers were not allowed to use the restroom at any of the plants. Thanks for taking us along.
I just found your videos a couple of days ago and am enjoying them greatly. I have been to your state several time on snowmobiling trips and have brought several 50 bags of potatoes home each time. We were in the Caribou area. I raise my own potatoes now and have wondered how you keep them firm all year. The first video i watched explained that for me. I have an old time root cellar on my farm and i repaired it a few years ago and use it but the potatoes always know when spring ls coming, Thanks for great videos. Im a farmer at heart. Grew up on a farm and still love it.
Awesome! Thank you so much for leaving this comment. I just recently went to Caribou for the first time. Really awesome people up there. Where is home for you?
Parkersburg, West Virginia. We quit coming up there to snowmobile because fuel to get there hot expensive. Cost about 600 dollars for just a small trailer with two snowmobiles. Do now we go to the UP Of Michigan. My wife and I do want to come back to Maine for a summer camper trip.
Gosh I just love watching all the automation. It’s amazing to me that after being stored for so long and then going through the process of being cleaned and sorted like that that the potato’s aren’t more bruised and damaged. They look perfect. I didn’t realize potatoes were so hearty.
I’m ihere watching this wonderful potato begging dance going on and you never miss a step, neither one of you around the dog. I sit here in amazement the trust between the dog and you guys . It’s like a ballet ! Loved the whole post.
Thank you! Haha I think our feet are programmed around her and our other dogs. Haha we have 4 of those big beasts. I actually fell this evening over one. Haha he was totally fine and so was I. But Shane and I laughed pretty hard. 🐕🐕🐕🐕
Great camera work inside your machines and showing the entire process of cleaning, grading , sorting , and finally finished bags ready for customers. Good stuff Molly!
So many moving parts. Guess it's a good day when there are no breakdowns. Looks like you all have to be a little robotic!💪💪🥔🥔. What variety or varieties are they ? Reminds me of katahdin.
Hey Molly, growing up in NY, I used to see that picture on the bag of the "Chef's Specials" is every Pizzeria's go-to art for their pizza boxes.....Memories for sure...
@@BellsFarming What are your top 3 favorite ways to eat potatoes? Baked Potato skins with Cheddar? Scalloped? Au Gratin? Which is it? Or do you not want to see another potato when work is over....LOL
Sometimes you take for granted that getting food at the grocery store is easy. Seeing this makes me appreciate all the hard work you and your team does. 🙌
In my 51 years of trucking, I hauled a lot of potatoes. Your packing house is just about the cleanest, most well lit facility I ever saw. Most are rather dingy, poorly lit, and the loading and storage areas, well, lets just say lot of people wouldnt eat their spuds if they saw some of the things I saw. Colorado seemed to be the worst, especially around Monte Vista and Center.
Molly your videos are great . You show farming as it is and how many things a farmer needs to know and do . No gym membership needed when you work on a farm . There is always something you need to move stack and lift and your arms show , you have some pretty good guns . Love the variety , and I want to see the building get built . 💪
Back in 78 just before i went into the military i worked on a potato and vegetable farm. It was potato harvesting time and i was the only one on the harvester as my boss drove the tractor. It had been a wet year and there were lots of rotten potatos and it was so hard hard trying to grab and throw them off. And then i helped bagging them and we used this stand up sewing machine unlike the one you have. Kudos to you and your co workers for working hard which is rare these days for the younger people. Keep up with the good work. As a consumer, i appreciate it. I also grew up on a dairy farm and we had 2 long rows of potatoes that we picked by hand .

Oh cool! We aren’t too much bigger than your old farm. We grow around 150 of potatoes. Total acres farmed is around 500. Potatoes, sweet corn, grain corn and green beans. Thank you for watching. This new grader is super cool. I spent many days on the old style grading table! Haha

Tks for sharing. It always amazing to see all the work that goes into potatoes packaging. I can see that just one person isn't there. How it affects the process.
50 pound bags, 5 bags per layer, 8 layers on a pallet. That's over a ton per pallet and a lot of lifting. Great way to keep in shape. Oh, and doggo is an excellent supervisor! Really like these vid and family farming.
I use to work on a potato farm here in the UK 🇬🇧 and the farmer didn't like people who swore or smoked and I was fantastic at both 😂 we didn't get a long at all 😮,,another great video molly, thank you 👍

Thanks for the video. Yours is one of several “farming” channels I follow. Though I had no interest in staying on the farm I do have an interest in farming. Today was very informative and I was kinda amazed at the way you both worked around the fuzzy tripping hazard.
Hey there Molly. I worked for a local dairy for years so I know a little about getting up early. I worked at the milk plant loading semis by hand , managed storage at the warehouse , mixed feed an delivered grain for cows at two different farms , delivered milk via semi food grade tanker from both farms to the processing plant , lastly drove semi an reefer trailers delivered finished product throughout NM , AZ , and TX. Have a great weekend !
Great upload, thank you....I live in Lincolnshire in the UK. I was comparing sack sizes they are 25kgs here, or four stone sacks in old weight. I usually buy unwashed Marfona potatoes (A good all rounder) and they are £13.00 ($16.53) per 25 kilo sack
We will occasionally sell potatoes unwashed. They definitely keep longer that way. But people usually don’t want to bother with the mess. Thank you for watching :)

I have never been up north. Next year we are going to try and make it to the annual potato meeting. Thank you for watching!
Really great work you all do there. Everyone needs to see more farmers doing their work and appreciate how important it really is. 🥔🍠
Thank you very much!
Very nice potatoes packaging.
Tks for sharing. It always amazing to see all the work that goes into potatoes packaging. I can see that just one person isn't there. How it affects the process.
Yeah, we really were missing like 3 that day. But we always make it work!
@BellsFarming just shows how alittle extra hard work can make it. And oh? Hope the Ducks and chickens are all safe and warm.
@@BellsFarming wow!! 3?

Thank you very much greg! I appreciate the support 😊
50 pound bags, 5 bags per layer, 8 layers on a pallet. That's over a ton per pallet and a lot of lifting. Great way to keep in shape. Oh, and doggo is an excellent supervisor! Really like these vid and family farming.
Thank you very much! I love the work out!

Hey Jim! Thank you very much for your support! Yum, that potato sounds good! Maybe I’ll make some loaded skins this weekend!
WOW ! HARD WORK IS HOW YOU GOT THAT GREATBODY ! WOW !
So fascinating to watch the whole process; so many different products! I always find your videos so informative and captivating……and your editing skills are really getting great! Best to you, Shane and everyone else!
Thank you very much! I’ll pass along the well wishes 💚
Thanks for the video. Yours is one of several “farming” channels I follow. Though I had no interest in staying on the farm I do have an interest in farming. Today was very informative and I was kinda amazed at the way you both worked around the fuzzy tripping hazard.
Hahah she is always at foot! Thank for watching!💚
She is always there. I think my feet have eyes on them to avoid her at this point. Haha
Another great video Molly ! That sorting machine is quite impressive would like to see that in person operating ! Thanks again Molly for sharing this.
Thank you very much for watching!
I like your style! Nice to meet fellow hard working people! Thank you for watching 💚
At times that time-lapse was like watching a Clay-Mation video!😊
Hahah
Thx for the camera angles on the bucket loader!
I love watching those shots of the forklift !
To quote Kramer from the Seinfeld show,,, "Wow, that's a lot of potatoes." I really enjoy your channel. It is so nice to see how well your channel is growing. Best of wishes.
Thanks James! Yeah that’s a lot of potatoes! Hahah I appreciate the support to the channel. I’m glad you find it interesting and hopefully a little entertaining:)
