Coming from Australia I can’t imagine camping like that in the snow. Looks like you had a great time. With all the stuff happening on the farm getting out into the quiet is just like breathing out. Soo relaxing. My wife and I have a small camper trailer with a diesel heater for those nights when it gets to 8 C !! So enjoying the farm videos. In retirement now I have set up a hydroponic Blueberry Farm which is pretty busy at times. Our winter here now so it’s quite as they are all dormant. Cheers

nice rifle leaning against the tree, (home/ tent) protection is a must when you're camping. I live in Wisconsin in Black Bear territory so I tent camp with 2 treeing Walker Coonhound and bull pump shotgun.

You must really be used to the cold. If the temp here goes below 10°C, I freeze! The snow sounds quite crunchy. I've only ever experienced a light dusting of snow. Inland on the mountains of the W.Cape it often snows in winter, and people go mad over it. The Free State gets quite a bit, being inland at at a highe altitude. 18-25°C is fine for me!

It has only been a few months since I was here. It’s not that remote of an area. There are housed down the road. A hunter was probabaly cold and used and took out propane heater.
If you have to break into someone's camp or in this case a tent. The thing to do is survive and then replace repair and graciously thank God and the owners that it was there. NOT STEAL FROM THEM!
Shelters for fun are the best. A great way for a couple to appreciate each other. Glad to see you off the ground for bedding as the ground can be so miserably cold.
Must be nice to have the ability to own suppressors. We don't have that luxury in the Commiewealth of Mass... Pretty cool campsite guys... I miss the days of camping out on an island during 4th of July weekends, out on Mattmiscontis Lake. With friends up in Lincoln...
I usually spend hours going thru my vehicle before I ever drive thru mass, and even then I don’t like to incase I missed something. Suppressors are great for everyone though, neighbors, new shooters , recoil management and so on. The price tag and the 6 month waiting aren’t as fun tho. Wondered if anyone was going to catch that.

When, if ever, have they been used in the commission of a felony? We have lost a couple of ranges here on the Cape over the years, that "noise" has supposedly been an issue. We have too many Wash-Ashores that have moved here, and then want to make it like the cities that they moved here to escape from. Even the range I belong to now, has to deal with complaints from people that knowingly bought a new house adjacent to a gun club.🤦🤦 Maura Healey is the worst thing for this Commonwealth's current and future firearms owners. Bad enough when she was the AG, worse now that she's Governor.
You guys are very resourceful great job on your camping setup. and filming your away time from work. We enjoy camping as well, so relaxing getting away from the everyday hum.
Just saw this video. Looks like a lot of fun. Simple is better and building it yourself makes it more special. When you were discussing stuff that was stolen , it reminded me of why we stopped allowing people to hunt on our farm, or even allowing people to come on it. Something would always go missing. All of our portable tree deer stands were taken, including deer and turkey decoys, even ground camaflouge stands. We didn't have cameras up, at that time to see who the thieves were, but it takes an individual of low moral character to steal from you, after being allowed into your personal property. Great idea bringing the guns. Society has become so whacky and out of balance, u really never know where your "safe place" is . I want to thank you for always posting something that is fresh and interesting. I always learn something, haha even a knowitall like me. You take care girl.😅

About those pancakes...my ret mil. chef buddy told me about this recipe. 2cups self rising flour, 2 cups milk, 2 eggs, 2 tbs melted butter/margarine, 2 ts sugar. Oh, and don't forget to blend some love into it!😂 I love spuds!❤

I really enjoy watching your channel ! We have a dairy, cash crop and maple syrup farm in Quebec. Last summer my son and I were talking about different types of farming and we found your channel. As far as the camping goes my employees and I all get out our maple woods before dark. Just to many coyotes,wolves and fishers . We always are finding places where Bambi got it. We even have seen coyotes watching us in the middle of the day.

As a hunter myself it's a privilege to be able to hunt on other peoples properly if l see something that don't like right l let the owner know 99 percent of the hunters l know would not steal. What l have found with over 45 years of hunting it's not the hunters that cause the problems it's youngsters partying or camping. I can't count the number of times when l am out I find a site where bottles, cans and garbage are there that I clean up so we hunters don't get the blame. Video cameras sound like a great idea.
Hey there! We had a blast! Shane said there used to be brook trout in the streams. He did not see any this trip. I would have to agree with you about 99% of the hunters are awesome and alway look out for the property. One time we had a camper up there in a snow stone and some guys on snow machines came to make sure we were supposed to be there. Hahah oh a few occasions I have had people see the logo on my truck and tell me “oh I’m glad to see that it’s you” and thank us for letting them walk and use the property. I think I was probably a little upset when I noticed things missing. Most likely we will continue to allow hunters to use the property. Thank you for taking the time to leave this comment!
that is so cute your fort Hahahaha I went to Russia one year i was in Kamchatka. i was helping build a church and peoples homes. But i went camping myself in the wilds. there they have Siberian tigers lynx wolves bears. But where i built my shelter.. i did have a two person tent.. but in my possible's haha i take tarps never know when they might be needed. I found a place between two huge boulders so over the top i laid logs tied them together and put ones on the back side of my shelter upright against my roof and two boulders. In front i dug a trench and put other logs upright in trench. i trimmed them with my hatched so i could get a tight as fit as i could.. and that was front and back and then put dirt in the trench and packed dirt in to make them tight in ground. and then tied uprights to roof to make it tight. about 4 feet from entrance i dugs a hole about 16 inches deep and about the size of a large basket ball. I got out my pot i had with and filled it full of water, and mixed water with dirt until i had good sticky mud. and that is what i sealed the back uprights and front with.. all the gaps were covered with mud. Top i took out one of the tarps put it over roof and pulled it down over sides and anchored it with rope / chord to upright stakes i made and pounded in ground. And then i covered top with small rocks dirt, and other debris some branches anything that had some weight to hold tarp down. Didn't want it flapping in the wind if it came up. In the front for a door i used small branches about 1 inch to 2 inches in diameter, and made a door. about 30upright about 5 feet tall and two across all the branches one about 6 inches from top and one about the same on bottom and lashed everything real real tight. And then i covered front and back of door with mud too... seal the door so to speak. Hinges were chord tied to uprights top middle bottom. When pulled closed it kept out most of the wind and cold....so the only gap i had was around door opening. Made dinner in my hole in ground that is where i put my fire. Set a tri-pod of small trees together over fire pit to boil water ,cook food, inside shelter i Set my my pad on ground between rocks and my sleeping bag and i was snug as a bug in a rug. Stayed in there for two weeks solo camping and exploring eastern Russia. Fished the little streams swam in streams, rivers Awesome time. i am so glad Molly you and Shane had an awesome time too.. memories like that can never be beat that is for sure. it is what makes life worth living.

I been using tents for fifty years,,and I learned the first year the tent goes with me when I leave the woods ,,or else it gets destroyed by snow , wind , storms ,,and people.

Bummer that your campsite wasn't quite remote enough to be safe from vandals, but you and your man sure made best of it. A positive attitude makes all the difference.
You guys are lucky...I am in a town next to Auburn and walked in on two meth addicts in our cabin in the woods a few years back. Took a year to get rid of them and we ended up burning the cabin down they destroyed it so bad.
Its quite sad that even having a camp in a very secluded area, that there are the few individuals who are so disrespectful that they feel the need to steal others camping gear or personal belongings. My daughter's teamate has a place in the middle of the wood between Milo and Brownville. Their off grid cabin has been broken into numerous times. The locks have been broken off a few times as well. They feel is been mostly hunters trespassing. 😞 ON a positive side, THAT is a totally cool shelter!! And Happy Anniversary!
Happy Anniversary. Looks like a cool campsite. Down here in south Florida camping, usually in the everglades the mosquitoes will tear your ass up no matter what time of year you go. Having snow on the ground and plenty of firewood is the way to do it. See ya next video.

Coldest night I have ever spent camping was in the Shenandoah Mountains. Plenty of warm quilts and blankets one of the best nights sleep I ever had.

I really enjoy watching your channel ! We have a dairy, cash crop and maple syrup farm in Quebec. Last summer my son and I were talking about different types of farming and we found your channel. As far as the camping goes my employees and I all get out our maple woods before dark. Just to many coyotes,wolves and fishers . We always are finding places where Bambi got it. We even have seen coyotes watching us in the middle of the day.

Happy Anniversary you two looks like you had a good adventure I wonder if there is fish in that stream? Sorry some one took your camping supplies. As a hunter myself it's a privilege to be able to hunt on other peoples properly if l see something that don't like right l let the owner know 99 percent of the hunters l know would not steal. What l have found with over 45 years of hunting it's not the hunters that cause the problems it's youngsters partying or camping. I can't count the number of times when l am out I find a site where bottles, cans and garbage are there that I clean up so we hunters don't get the blame. Video cameras sound like a great idea.

I would have to agree with you about 99% of the hunters are awesome and alway look out for the property. One time we had a camper up there in a snow stone and some guys on snow machines came to make sure we were supposed to be there. Hahah oh a few occasions I have had people see the logo on my truck and tell me “oh I’m glad to see that it’s you” and thank us for letting them walk and use the property. I think I was probably a little upset when I noticed things missing. Most likely we will continue to allow hunters to use the property. Thank you for taking the time to leave this comment!
Hotel California SWEET POTATOES
that is so cute your fort Hahahaha I went to Russia one year i was in Kamchatka. i was helping build a church and peoples homes. But i went camping myself in the wilds. there they have Siberian tigers lynx wolves bears. But where i built my shelter.. i did have a two person tent.. but in my possible's haha i take tarps never know when they might be needed. I found a place between two huge boulders so over the top i laid logs tied them together and put ones on the back side of my shelter upright against my roof and two boulders. In front i dug a trench and put other logs upright in trench. i trimmed them with my hatched so i could get a tight as fit as i could.. and that was front and back and then put dirt in the trench and packed dirt in to make them tight in ground. and then tied uprights to roof to make it tight. about 4 feet from entrance i dugs a hole about 16 inches deep and about the size of a large basket ball. I got out my pot i had with and filled it full of water, and mixed water with dirt until i had good sticky mud. and that is what i sealed the back uprights and front with.. all the gaps were covered with mud. Top i took out one of the tarps put it over roof and pulled it down over sides and anchored it with rope / chord to upright stakes i made and pounded in ground. And then i covered top with small rocks dirt, and other debris some branches anything that had some weight to hold tarp down. Didn't want it flapping in the wind if it came up. In the front for a door i used small branches about 1 inch to 2 inches in diameter, and made a door. about 30upright about 5 feet tall and two across all the branches one about 6 inches from top and one about the same on bottom and lashed everything real real tight. And then i covered front and back of door with mud too... seal the door so to speak. Hinges were chord tied to uprights top middle bottom. When pulled closed it kept out most of the wind and cold....so the only gap i had was around door opening. Made dinner in my hole in ground that is where i put my fire. Set a tri-pod of small trees together over fire pit to boil water ,cook food, inside shelter i Set my my pad on ground between rocks and my sleeping bag and i was snug as a bug in a rug. Stayed in there for two weeks solo camping and exploring eastern Russia. Fished the little streams swam in streams, rivers Awesome time. i am so glad Molly you and Shane had an awesome time too.. memories like that can never be beat that is for sure. it is what makes life worth living.

No salvage there. We wanted to keep the shelter looking natural. Next shelter will probably have a green tarp incorporated
I been using tents for fifty years,,and I learned the first year the tent goes with me when I leave the woods ,,or else it gets destroyed by snow , wind , storms ,,and people.

You guys are lucky...I am in a town next to Auburn and walked in on two meth addicts in our cabin in the woods a few years back. Took a year to get rid of them and we ended up burning the cabin down they destroyed it so bad.
Its quite sad that even having a camp in a very secluded area, that there are the few individuals who are so disrespectful that they feel the need to steal others camping gear or personal belongings. My daughter's teamate has a place in the middle of the wood between Milo and Brownville. Their off grid cabin has been broken into numerous times. The locks have been broken off a few times as well. They feel is been mostly hunters trespassing. 😞 ON a positive side, THAT is a totally cool shelter!! And Happy Anniversary!

If you all are prepared for the outdoor camping,it's really fun, but if you're not prepared, you're going to have a bad night of camping.. There is also those truck tent that you mount in the back of your truck bed and I don't know if you all would like that option or not??😊😊😊
We have looked at a few different tents. I have an FJ cruiser and we wanted to put a roof top tent on that. But I really like being down by the fire. :) thank you so much for coming along with us!
