You're going to love this pot. 1. I have boiled potatoes while steaming asparagus to go with the steak. 2. I have steamed some apples then covered them in brown sugar and cinnamon. 3. I put it on it's side with the lid locked on and baked cookies and mini pies. Btw. The cardboard donut needs more cinnamon
That’s awesome, Andy! 👍 Thanks for dropping a comment. I haven’t tried baking in a bushpot yet-very cool! And BTW, I had to use an awful lot of cinnamon and sugar to get that cardboard donut down…and a tall glass of milk!
I painted the outside of mine with high temp automotive black header paint and baked it on. Water boils much faster being black. I love being able to steam eggs and crawdads!
Absolutely fantastic pot. The other Antarcti pot and nesting tea kettle are pretty rock solid as well. Fire Maple has some great gear and their customer service is pretty responsive as well. 👍👍🍺
Just ordered one !!!!...... the steamer tray will hold my egg poaching cups !!!..... and added plus for me !!....plus baking and other mods that can be done eliminates a few other items I normally have to carry
That locking lid would make it great for holding jars of spices, especially with the sieve working as a tray to isolate items. No worries about things flopping around, etc. I like it!
They seem to have taken on zebra (who didn't make a billy can but a food can which we adopted cos it makes a good billy) and as far as I can tell have succeeded in making a very good billy can. Might get one myself. Cheers for showing. I have a fire maple kettle which I love (replaced a snowpeak one - billy style - which is also excellent) so why not? As to the doughnut: If it didn't come with coffee and ice cream it ain't much of a doughnut! Ps: More crap for my collection!
@@blackhawkbushcraft You're welcome. Depends on which one you get I'd say. Mine's a 1.2lt jobby, I think (not the twin handle one) and it actually pours (which surprised the f+×k outa me). Handle holds in place but a mite wobbly, still, you get used to it. Fits my folda cup, sugar, tea, milk powder, etc and either a gas canister or a gas stove (not both but what do you want from a kettle? OK, a blonde..sadly it doesn't come with one). I like it. Useful when out with the bros. Have fun out there😉
@@davidleonard1813 thanks for the comment. This is what has me so fascinated: the baking concept. I’ve ordered some more stuff and want to really try out the oven aspect. I am a huge Dutch oven cooker, but haven’t ever tried baking in a bush pot. Seems pretty freaking cool!
I’ll stick with Pathfinder. I have never had any issues with their gear. It’s solid and guaranteed for life. There have been some issues with Fire Maple gear. Sticking with Dave and SRO.

Thanks for the info. It was very helpful.
Cardboard donut, you are supposed to soak with paraffin use as a cooking fuel.
@ Nah! That’s wishful thinking. I soaked mine in cinnamon butter and caramel and it went down like a champ! 👍

Thanks for the comment. You’re another who threw out some kudos on the kettle. And that’s great to hear that they have great customer service.
I've had one for a while and it's bombproof, can't fault it.
I saw your vid where you baked bannock in it. Pretty flippin’ cool! 👍 I need to look at one of those Rough Timba baking inserts.
Looks like a pretty good pot. Thank you for the quick review. Stay safe and stay warm
Thank you for watching and for the comment! 👍
Great. Now I get to order more stuff. Looks fantastic. Thanks for the review, awesome
Haha! 👍😂 Glad I could help.

That will be a replacement for my zebra love ur channel
Thank you so much, mate. 👍
Definitely thinking about getting one
@@Wolverinemark it’s a pretty sweet pot and very durable. I’ve been impressed thus far.
Try a stainless asparagus steamer? Get them in charity shops ?
Looks solid !
Feels pretty bomb proof! 👍
When I was a kid I had a Cookie Monster hand puppet that had a slot in the back of the mouth so you could “feed” it cardboard cookies.
Haha! 😂 I totally had one if those Cookie Monster hand puppets! 👍😆
I actually have that pot. I love it. The kettle kicks ass too.
Awesome! That’s great to hear. Thanks for the comment. 👍
I have their stainless steel kettle in the 1.5l size and it's awesome.
See what you’ve done? Now you have me looking at their kettles! 😄
Cardboard donuts are delicious with tree moss frosting. 😊
Now you’re talkin’! 😄
Killing me with doughnut 😂🤣😂 also looks like a really nice pot 👍
Let me just say it wasn’t even close to a Krispy Kreme.

BTW, 1.2L is 40.5768 fl. Oz. Or slightly more than a quart plus a cup.

Just an explanation for those who use freedom units.

Get it black!
You know it! I think I’m just about to give in to the stinky black cookware. 🔥😁
Thats the whole purpose of a pot bag......no soot in the pack@blackhawkbushcraft
@ but then it makes my lot bag dirty. 😂 Losing battle!
Add a fryer basket 🙌🏾
Oh yeah!!!😁👍
Needs a bail handle on the steamer.
Agree! 👍 How cool would that be?
How fast can it boil filled with urine, try it on your next test.
Challenge accepted! 😂
If it was 2lt cut down a cake cooler, you could use it as an oven. I do that with a Zebra Billy.

Well at least if you eat the cardboard donut you would be getting extra fiber in your diet.
Haha! 😄👍 That is true!
Yeah, it’s an tactical fiber supplement.
to small for me. 2.L. minimum is what I need

What issues with Fire Maple gear? Anecdotal only or can you point me to a widespread, legitimate concern?
Naa, I’ll stick with Pathfinder. I don’t have any Dave Canterbury issues. Nor Firemaple for that matter.

Absolutely junk you pick this over pathfinder....the first to break is the lock lid all the handles loosen up just junk good luck
