    Sim city here’s a tip. Build a map with a 12-20 level mountain at the top corner. Add waterfalls then hydro dams and you won’t have to pay for expensive power plants and no pollution 👍

    Since 2012 my windows XP 32bit gaming pc stays offline. Never deal with Norton or useless automatic updates. If I need updates or drivers I use flash usb drives.

      @@arizonapalmsyes it is actually, but you need to tweak a little the drivers to make Win XP to recognize your card, its not that hard thou!😅 i think the gtx 960 was the very last gpu supported in windows xp

    I actually did this back in the day - I switched from PC to an iMac in 2009 for music recording and because I hated windows vista. I dual booted with windows xp for gaming. It was definitely a smooth experience. The main downside seems to be you’re stuck with the 16:9(or 10?) ratio for everything. Any way to force a 4:3 ratio? Oh, and does it run Crysis!!??

    Great video. It looks like you are sitting in front of a streched image ( no black bar ) but the capture is in proportion. Can you confirm that the aspect ration is preserved?

    • @arizonapalms
      @arizonapalms  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey good question! The graphics control panel allows you to either have pixel-to-pixel scaling (1:1), fit scale (preserves aspect ratio), fill scale. Most WinXP games can be modded to run at the full resolution, but if not i think the fit scale looks the best. My capture card only does 1080p so every different game had to be scaled to proportion of the original resolution, so I'm not sure how the dvi out would look.

    • @arizonapalms
      @arizonapalms  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Doom 3? It could probably do it at a lower resolution, same with F.E.A.R. I'll have to add this to the list to test out. I believe the mid-2010 iMac can do it, have not tested with any past that but it might be possible!

    I am going to let you in in a little secret everyone else knows: Intel 2nd Gen Core 7 2700K (3.5GHz before over clock) with a GTX 980 Ti and that is only if you are talking "supported hardware." Your I-Mac had a bad reputation back in the day for quickly thermal throttling both the CPU and GPU. A lot of people did what you were doing back in the day only sucess came in the form of a Power Mac tower. I think sometimes we get so proud of meager ackomplishments that we enter into a false reality in effort to support a dubious claim such as this click-bait title.

    • @arizonapalms
      @arizonapalms  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You're right about the Intel i7 2700K and 980 Ti being a fantastic combo for Windows XP gaming. The iMac in the video was more of a budget-friendly choice for those looking to relive that early 2000's gaming nostalgia without breaking the bank. Ultimately, it comes down to personal preferences and budgets. Your suggested build is indeed a powerhouse, but for those of us who enjoy a bit of nostalgia on a budget, the iMac still offers a surprisingly enjoyable Windows XP gaming experience.

      @shaun4bigblocks993 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@arizonapalms I agree with what you said about this being a great budget build, what threw me off was the word "budget" not being in the title. I am a pretty hardcore retro guy, like I have over 40 computers going back to 8086 and 8088s and at least four XP rigs running 32 bit and 64 bit flavors so when I saw that title and then watched the video I was like WTF?? It is a kewl build and I got the same IMac as you in my collection but you know how crazy XP builds can get, especially running patches on unsupported later software. XP was probably the best all around OS MS ever created but my nostalgia is highest with 486s but you know it is an age thing and what systems were the "coming of age" that we all got into.
