    I just want to add, rhabdomyolysis is a kidney condition causes by damged muscle tissue, usually as a result of a crush injury. I can also be caused by significant damage to muscle. It causes tiny little shreds of muscle to enter the blood stream and enter the kidneys, essentially shutting them down and can be considered life threatening. It has absolutely nothing to do with poor hydration. That child was injured seriously in order to develop that condition. It infurates me that he has the gall to make statements like this.

    • @lindadeeds5326
      @lindadeeds5326 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      Well, it’s the concentration that causes the problem, so both the amount of broken muscle cells and the amount of hydration are important. There are always muscle cells breaking down, but that doesn’t usually cause problems, as the concentration in the blood is very low. If a bunch of muscle cells are all broken at once, it becomes difficult for the body to dilute them out fast enough.

    • @lilybug246
      @lilybug246 ปีที่แล้ว +23

      It has to be severe muscle damage to cause rhabdomyolysis. In addition to what you said, it creates clotting throughout the body because those large particles can’t get through tiny vessels. All of the clotting factors can be used up on these clots leading to disseminated intravascular clotting (DIC) and leading to bleeding/hemorrhaging which is often fatal.

    • @myothernameisnana7188
      @myothernameisnana7188 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      It can also be caused by non-movement, such as someone who has fallen and cannot get up and lays in one position for hours.

      Thanks for this comment and the clarification of responders to it. Rhabdomyolysis is most certainly not just caused by dehydration. Also you don't "Discipline" babies to young to reason through things. You can show them, and tell them no, but until they can speak freely and reason about why it's wrong, "Discipline" is just abuse. It sounds like abuse anyways given that Rhabdomyolysis was a result. Hope this asshole gets what's coming to him.

      In his defense, there are so many awful doctors/surgeons, it’s not even funny. I’ve had to deal with more than you can possibly imagine because I was born with a life-threatening birth defect, and had a lifetime of health problems. I am currently disabled and mostly bedridden with 24/7 chronic pain - it has been as such for 20 years. I am not being facetious at all - it is EXTREMELY rare to find a doctor that is not only good at their job, but actually gives a damn about their patient too. @Oona CZT Exactly. I went to a Christian school for a few years. I did enjoy church history. The Bible, to me, must be read and put in context to the time it was written. That is a man who simply believes he’s ALWAYS right, everyone else is wrong AND out to get him, he has ZERO concept of the term ‘accountability’, and no matter how many top-notch lawyers point out the 100 mistakes he made here and talked himself right out of any chance of getting out on bond; in his mind he was perfect and the court is punishing him before trial. If there was ever a potato showing the intelligence of potatoes, HE IS 100% IT!! In the words of KS (R.I.P.) - “you can’t make this shit up!”
    And on the off chance this moron gets to read these comments…. regardless of what you FEEL, you put your 23 month old child in the hospital for ANY reason… you deserve everything the law can throw at you, PLUS whatever they can makeup/invent to make your stay even longer. NO 2 year old requires a “tool” or weapon or ANY DAMN THING in your hand to redirect whatever they’re doing. Hell, if they child is brandishing a knife you wouldn’t need more than your hands. At the VERY worst, it’s a couple of light spanks on his diapered bum, and even that is highly questionable. And if your Bible is teaching you it’s okay to do what you did, then you have NO UNDERSTANDING of the Bible or a single word in it! FFS, put a 23 month old in the hospital…. WTF is wrong with you⁉️ Piss me right TF off! Scumbag. 🤦🏼‍♂️🤷‍♂️
    Sorry Mike, I kind of ranted out there… having been beaten for the first 14 years of my life by my sick AF alcoholic father; 40 years later these sick f*^ks STILL boil my blood!

      Why was the name Yahuah taken out of the scriptures over 7000x?
      It’s simple- so that you wouldn’t know it.
      For “everyone who calls on the Name of יהוה shall be saved.”
      Romiyim (Romans)‬ 10:13‬‬
      ‘And it shall be that everyone who calls on the Name of יהוה shall be saved.’
      Ma`asei (Acts)‬ 2:21‬‬
      Pour out Your wrath on the nations Who have not known You, And on reigns that have not called on Your Name.
      Tehillim (Psalms)‬ 79:6‬‬
      Help us, O Elohim of our deliverance, For the sake of the esteem of Your Name. And deliver us, and cover over our sins, For Your Name’s sake!
      Tehillim (Psalms)‬ 79:9‬‬
      I can keep posting scripture about how Important Yahuah and Yahusha Ha Mashiac name is. you see those who don’t call a this name is cursed, those who call there is salvation and deliverance and blessings.
      Name in Hebrew is
      shêm, shame; a primitive word [perhaps rather from H7760 through the idea of definite and conspicuous position; compare H8064]; an appellation, as a mark or memorial of individuality; by implication honor, authority, character:-+ base, (in-) fame(-ous), named(-d), renown, report.
      a name is a Mark, authority, and character of a person. The reason this is important because Yahuahs name encompasses his whole character through the scriptures. And a different name encompasses another character. Another Mark if you will.
      lord, god and jesus are not innocent translations.
      in TS 2009 ISR explanatory notes it explains
      making these changes transgresses the command not to bring Yahuahs name to naught, and not to add to the Word, and not to have another mighty one against Yahuahs face.
      -the name lord can be traced to the Roman house-diety , and further back to the name of an Etruscan sovereign, Larth. In antiquity sovereigns were
      -the name god developed from a Germanic god wodenaz-gudenaz-guden-god.
      -the name jesus can be traced to the diety of healing in Greek culture. iasous a female healing diety.
      look at the scripture below the Greeks likened there deity’s to the Hebrews when they saw the power at work.
      And when the crowds saw what Sha’ul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in Lukaonian, “The mighty ones have become like men and come down to us!” And they called Barnaḇa Zeus, and Sha’ul Hermes, since he was the chief speaker. And the priest of Zeus, being in front of their city, brought oxen and wreaths to the gates, and wished to offer with the crowds. And when the emissaries Barnaḇa and Sha’ul heard this, they tore their garments and ran in among the crowd, crying out

I was a victim of horrific childhood abuse of different kinds so I have very little patience with using pain as a teaching tool. Society has gone over-board however, on raising entitled children. I was raised differently and for conversation sake I will assume you were to. We should not have taken God out of schools. And teachers have no business teaching our children about the ridiculous woke-lunacy with regard to gender equality. You could make the argument that kids were in a much better place when corporal punishment was the only questionable issue in how to teach our children right from wrong. I would say it is possible to raise well rounded, respectful children without ever raising a hand to them. I have proof in my four boys. Again, I do respect your view. @@TRUMP-ki9vn You are so right about the need for meaningful dialogue seemingly a thing of the past. I suspect we are close in age. My parents believed in highly selective corporal punishment. In fact I remember the only 2 spankings I ever received. I raised my kids the same way. I delivered only 3 such punishments, and they tore through my sole. Yet like the 2 of such punishments (and they were both pull your pants down and get a couple of smacks, bare hand to bottom), I deserved them as the things I did put my father in a great deal of stress). My conclusion now looking back at the 2 I received, and 3 I delivered (to separate children); is they were about stress from fear that what I had done put my life in danger, and my father was reacting to his fear of loss. My experience as the deliverer were more from anger from disrespect. My children were so much more disrespectful than me or my siblings ever were. There were no switched, belts, or other tools involved in any of the exchanges.
      I’m very patient, and my children at separate times pushed me to my limits. Interestingly, my wife at the time did alot more spanking than I did and my girls carried resentment toward her well into their late 20’s. With the benefit of wisdom, i think corporal punishment of children produced mixed results. My daughters do not spank their children at all. I think we as a society are outgrowing spanking of children, but without proper education of alternative parenting strategies.
      It seems like the guy in this case probably thinks taking a switch (Swiffer handle) is an appropriate way to discipline his 2 year old. It chilling to think, but there are many in our society who still believe in such practices. So the cycle of violence continues. I actually agree more with you, and my prior comments were as much of a reaction to what I perceived as unfair treatment in the court. Some of Mike’s comments got under my skin as well. Mr. Ireton received a 40 months to 10 years sentence. Hopefully he receives some mental health treatment but knowing how prison works he’s likely to go farther down the religious extremism rabbit hole. I feel so sorry for his child and the child’s mother as they will spend the rest of their lives running from this nut job.

    Well, a creative beginning…he made an admission right off the top to a degree of child abuse. OMG he had an itchy infection on a body part rubbing against itself. Yuck. TMI. Judge is directing him to help himself, but is not going well to this point….getting worse….omg, child is less than 2 yrs old!!

      He hould be facing a bullet given how badly he hurt that child.. the kid had Rhabdomyolysis, meaning he beat him bad enough that the muscle was traumatized so badly it broke down and flooded his kidneys with excess protein, leading to kidney failure, very common in crush injuries... like when a car is dropped on someone.. that is how badly this man beat that child.

    Being a parent to a child doesn't give you carte blanche on whatever harshness of punishment you deem necessary. If that punishment is damaging to the child's well-being in any way (physically, emotionally, etc) you have overstepped from appropriate punishment into abuse, and you should be prosecuted and the child protected from you.
    It's extremely sick that he used religion, fallaciously i might ad to justify his actions. Absolutely disgusting!

    Thinking he can use the excuse of “my Bible told me to” would mean he thinks he can get away with even worse than beating a child to the extent of prolonged hospitalisation. I’d leave him locked up until he at least thinks otherwise.

    It would have to have been significant physical abuse to cause rhabdo. If the child has an underlying medical history, this could have been a coincidence. I am not defending the guy, but my understanding is that pediatric rhabdo from abuse would be indicative of long term abuse and not a singular event.

    • @maggmaster

      You would have to split muscle fibers. The bruising would be incredible and the force would be intense. I worked as an EMT for 5 years and I only ever saw Rhabdo in cross fitters and people with pre existing Kidney issues.
