This is the best Dreams FPS tutorial. Your idea to attach the arms to the head and just have the weapon be hitscan is brilliant. Before I saw this, I spent way too much trying to get my emitter and reticle to line up lol
As someone who has zero experience in this engine, it was extremely hard to follow along. I have hit so many road blocks in the first 10 minutes, explaining things like scoping in and scoping out, or how you copied and mirrored the arm with no issues would be helpful. I found how to do many things after an hour of just trying to get through the first 10 minutes, but having to spend an hour only getting through that section of the video due to none of the controls or quick functions being explained was extremely frustrating. I understand if this video isn't for people who are brand new to dreams, but having tutorials that act like people are is invaluable. Instead of just saying "Scope out the arm" explain the button combination and what you're doing, for the people who know what that means they'll do it in seconds and skip the explanation, but people like I and many others we would gladly listen and learn.
A yputuber that doesn't worry about demonetization, that's new. :) What this games needs is tutorials and templates like yours so people can create. Good job!
Good luck Salome, don't give up!! I cannot wait to play your dream fps. Don't get discouraged because I know that one day, you will be able to look back on this day, and think wow, damn, holy ,***macaroni! You will be amazed by the results, no matter what you sculpt and create new, or rearrange and re-use all textures / character models, from the community. This is the entire point of the cloud and will take no less away from your game that I look forward to playing one day in the feature. I have set a calendar note to followup with you in a year and a half from now to reach out, contact you, and find out/see how far you have come since his day ( don't fret, any published fps shooter will undoubtedly impress me strongly.
Great explanations. Looking forward to what this game brings out of creative people. Subbed. I'm sure your channel will blow up soon. You have a very good way of communicating game mechanics
Thank you so much, always happy to find another TH-camr with tutorials. Your videos help out with certain problems I haven't been able to find answers for. Thanks again, I hope to see you grow big one day.
Quick tip, in a timeline instead of using a counter to send a signal, use a NOT Gate. Since it has nothing connected to its input it will be automatically active. Great tutorial!
Haha that's great to hear! It took me a while to polish them and get rid of most bugs, but now they're done it's really easy to rework them into something else. I'm now making a small playable level that showcases it, to gain a bit more attention, because I really believe a lot of dreamers can benefit from a solid shooter base. I of course follow you in Dreams, so if you ever end up making an fpv game, I'll see it for sure! In the meantime I'm also looking forward to more of those animations! I'm so happy that voice acting in Dreams doesn't sound like it was recorded in a CoD lobby, like in LBP.
What did you think of Rothniel's shooter mechanics? Yeah the voice acting is crystal clear plus there's always importing if you want to use your PC or include people who don't own Dreams which is amazing. I wouldn't mind making an FPS game it's just that the only game I'm making at the moment between animation work is a 3rd person rpg game and it's a mammoth could take me till the end of the year haha
Tiny tip For the head locking arm if you want to make an object you can use and not use (make the weapon invisible and vice versa) duplicate the arms and make them invisible un invisible. Hope this helps somebody!

@@idlehour Don't worry! The templates were made to be used and you're free to do whatever you want with them. I am also not a native English speaker, so I fully understand the struggle!
@@intrattackout :) thank you. Again sorry for so many comments i hate to bother/ bug you. Had my head so into work IDK how i never realized the power in Dreams, and these guides help a ton, it can be overwhelming. Paz.
I think I figured it out. You have to go into the red controller logic microchip and delete the Keyframe called “head and neck visible” - it should be right after an active NOT gate. If you delete this Keyframe together with the NOT gate, and scope into the head or neck, they should automatically become invisible! Hope this helped!
Hey when you say that you Uploaded the templates of this 1st person shooter to dreams, does that mean we can put this satisfying FPS you made into our own dream???
Yes! I've since updated the template with many, many, many more features. I've also made different enemy templates and more. Players can use these to create their own shooters!

@@intrattackout hey I just got dreams and I am currently using your advanced fps template but I have a problem with the melee animation. I changed the original key frame with my own and now everytime I use Melee the fingers glitch out weirdly in all directions can you please help me fix this??
A bit of a silly question but I’ve never played this game but plan on making a horror game when it releases, is it possible to add detail to the person characters arms/legs/body
For sure! The basic ''puppet'' is basically just a template, a blank canvas that you can work from. You can make them look like anything you want. Dragons, cyborgs, you name it!
They should just make a engine full on no limits like this, to out sell unity. Just wish game engines where made like this for people who want it easy. I got playmaker and the documentation is outdated, and it a no code system to help you make a game.
