Sounds good Ian.31° here in NZ & hot nights 🌙. I got the fan next to my bed 🛌 going all night. Can here the the tar bubbling under wheels of bike.Wgen it gets over 30-31° I usually don't go out or go out real early home by lunchtime before gets to hot.
Similar to here in Perth; had the aircon on last two nights. 34C today and 38 forecast for Wednesday. Summer's arrived, so out early in the day for a cooler ride. 👍
Bad enough here in Hawkes Bay NZ between 31-35°.Perth be a scorcher especially at night.I went to Queensland & had a fan above the bed on full every night over summer. We get a different heat & Ozone is thin over Eastern NZ & if you're fair get sun burnt in 5-10mins. In Queensland it was more humid & hotter but took longer to burn.I can imagine Perth be real dry heat there Queensland is in the tropics.
@@ruahinesrider Yes, you're right about that, RR. I'm fair, so it's a challenge. I lived on Queensland's Sunshine Coast for 8 years and had 10 years in Philippines, so I'm used to the humidity, though nightly aircon, both there and here, really helps!
Thankyou Ian for another brilliant video and taking us up the tower, the sound quality is superb really brings out the induction and exhaust aswell as great camera work and a great view ahead, hope you well looking forward to the next ride.
Thanks Andy….it was the diminutive size of the Mini which attracted me to it. It was also Argos selling the OA4 for £199 which made me buy that too. 🙄😂
Sounds absolutely fine to me Ian with a good rumble from your engine in the background. Been to Jubilee Tower many times but never in the winter I'll leave that to the more adventurous like your good self.
Roads were quite greasy Ian….you know that lightness you get when you go into a bend 😳, just makes you more aware….a perfect example was just before I said “you have to be a bit careful” 😂. Thanks for your feedback on the audio.
Hi Ian thanks for the ride, grounded at moment from 2 wheels due to my wife’s bad health, so a trip out with a fellow bay dweller is good, yes the sound content was good so it’s a way forward, for me it’s a move on, I have an akaso just to dip my toe in the water so to speak so I think a new DJI is on the cards for me with the mini mic, thanks again take care Ted
Morning Ted, sorry to hear about your wife, it’s all about priorities. I had an Akaso for a short time, didn’t get on with it so sold it on. I have never looked back since discovering DJI 😉. Cheers
Thanks Kev. Scorpio’s gearbox is getting better and better too, clutchless up shifts are a joy, did a few on this, and there will be some more on the next. Cheers
Great sound and picture👍I'm very impressed with your DJI products and when you consider the small sizes, I think the output is amazing. I remember a trip to the cinema to watch TT ace Joey Dunlop in "V4 Victory" and the camera strapped to the tank looked like a small wardrobe. Joey could only just reach around it and he was sat very upright but still managed a 110mph lap, tremendous!!
Thanks Paul. Video technology has come so far in so few years, your average person can produce some pretty outstanding content now. You only need to look through my back catalogue to see just how much things have improved over the last 3/4 years. The cost has also come down, with top notch gear now, costing less than the more budget lines from a few years ago. Anyone new to the vlogging game, has it pretty damned easy to be honest…..lucky buggers 😂. Mr Dunlop was something else though, wasn’t he. I too have seen that video. 👍
Morning Ian, the audio sounds fine , a good balance between your voice and the bike 👍, and a nice ride up to the tower, ( I always think of Jimmy Hendrix 's song , The Watchtower) when I'm up there) 😆I've been up there quite a few times, taking turns to take my missus and one of my sons and my daughter up on the bike on weekends throughout the year , it's beautiful through the Trough of Bowland isn't it! 🙌👌, That's a good price for the mic , just what I've been looking for for my camera, the one that's inbuilt is crap! Cheers, Mel
Thanks Mel. The mic is a game changer for me, though as usual, I will fettle a bit more, probably just try -12 next time out. I need to do more in “The Trough”…..on the return from this, we go back via Dolphinholme, along roads I haven’t been on before, very nice. Cheers
Sounds good to me Ian, no issues at all. Enjoyed the ride; perfect roads for Scorpio; she flew along there at a rate of knots, no problems at all. You certainly got a crackin bike there Ian. Hope Ann’s tickerty boo; mind how you go fella.
Thanks for the feedback Neil, I am really pleased with the new mic, and Scorpio of course. Cracking bike, though not as smooth at lower speeds as Clementine, he can still “bimble” when asked, but is much happier when opened up. Ann says she is fine thank you, hope both of you are keeping well.
Money well spent Ian. Sounds the business for both voice and bike sound. Well balanced to me, Well done. until the next time, Ride safe. Mike Sunny Wales
Thanks Peter…..if DJI had kept their promise by delivering next day, the first ride with it would have been on Clementine, alas it was too late 🙄😂 I do think it picks up the engine/exhaust note better than when using the wired mic. Next time, I will try a slightly different recording level.
Looking and sounding good buddy, I think you have made a good investment it’s something I have been thinking about myself, it definitely seems good value and no need to worry about rain anymore 😂all the best buddy 👍
Thanks Mike, I just replied to your comment on FB. Yes, I meant to say in the video, that I wouldn’t need to worry when getting caught out in the rain. The camera being totally sealed, is brilliant. Cheers
Everything is spot on Ian, good view of the road, good 🎤 sound and you can still hear the bike okay 👍. Think I might start a new nickname for you, Jekyll and hide depending on which bike you're on 😂. One minute you're cruising down the lanes doing 35-50 on the classic quite content, and next minute you're zooming about doing 55+ overtaking anything that happens to be in your way 😅
Nicely done Ian. You've talked me into ordering a Osmo Action 5 and the Mic Mini. I also ordered a Osmo Mobile 6 with the light. Let DJI know that they owe ya! 👍
@ Yes they should send you some gear! I’ll take advice from you over many of the larger channels. I like channels that are about the motorcycling community. I especially like how you and other creators interact with each other.
@pinkiewerewolf nice of you to say. I just don’t understand why some of the big channels think they are so elitist. I too have gone off a few of them, especially when they don’t think in layman’s terms. Their reviews of bikes, are so wooden and clinical, no show of emotion. Motorcycling is all about the emotion, I think they have lost that in their search for numbers. I also think it’s great how us smaller channels support each other too. Cheers
Morning Ian, The audio sounds crisp and clear, and to be honest it captures the engine and exhaust of the bike just right, got to hand it to DJI? it's another winner, and being able to buy just the transmitted as a stand-alone option is great for what we do, being a poor pensioner I'm still running GoPro 7 with a wired mike, nice ride, but a bit cold by the looks of things, its throwing it down here as usual, ............................colin 😀
Hi Ian your new Mic Mini sounds great. I recently bought two Action 5 Pro’s and two Mic 2’’s Just back from filming a new series using the new kit and it all worked brilliantly, the best videos I’ve made so far. I set my mics to -12. In all day filming I changed the camera batteries at lunch time and changed over the helmet mic’s. I’ve now just purchased a Mic Mini and think it’s simply brilliant. It fits inside the helmet so much better than the Mic 2. But the best part is the battery life. I did a test comparing the Mic 2 and Mic Mini and the Mini lasted over 4 hours more. This means that I should be able to put a fully charged switched on Mini into helmet in the morning and it’ll last all day without turning it off. Looking forward to actually using mine now. PS my new series starts 7th January
Thanks Ian, look forward to watching the new series. I am going to try -12 next time out. I was going to try noise cancellation, but I will try -12 first. It’s just to try a reduce the background rumble…..fine tuning so to speak. As for the battery life, it’s crazy. Cheers
@ I tried noise cancelling on my Mic 2 but noticed a slight background noise I didn’t like. I use noise reduction in LumaFusion on my iPad now, it allows me much finer control. I think the Mic Mini is a game changer for us bikers. Ride safe 👍
@tigerness5555 I think what you heard, is similar to what I heard on someone else’s video, hence my reluctance to use noise cancellation. Baring in mind, I added the text in editing, while I was listening through headphones, which are a little bit bass heavy. Having watched this video on a telly with soundbar and subwoofer, I am happy enough with it (but always room for tweaking) 😎 Cheers
Hi Ian The sound through the Dji Mic is coming through very clear. I purchased the magnetic strips from Amazon . To increase the magnetism i stuck 2 together.
I did a little video on this about 4 days ago, I think it fits a lot better than the mic 2 i have with how small it is. It's definitely a game changer 😊 👍
Evening Ian, another enjoyable video, the sound quality is very clear, picks up Scorpio lovely 👍, my Guerrilla is supposed to be coming into the docks tomorrow, so should have it within 2 weeks 😀, hoping for a bit of reasonable weather so i can get a few miles on it, was thinking about getting a fly screen for it, what do you think about a screen?. Look forward to the next video 👍
Hi Malcolm, thanks for the feedback….I really hope you get some decent weather to enjoy your new Guerrilla. I have mixed feelings about screens. I have found that anything higher than the clocks, causes horrible buffering, but that’s just me. Many people find they are beneficial.
@ianhughesroyalenfield thanks Ian, my mate and myself are planning a couple of days away next year, he's just got a new BMW F900, thought we might try round Norfolk/ Lincolnshire to start with. I'll try the screen, don't really want anymore buffering, I get a bit of wind noise in my helmet as it is 🤔
@malcolmtaylor3231 in the next video (return from Jubilee Tower), I go on the motorway. At 70mph, it’s perfectly acceptable naked, but then again I prefer naked bikes.
Morning Ian, your audio sounds pretty good to me, there is a bit of rumble as you said but you could probably dial that out with EQ. A couple of months ago I tried the AnkerWork M650 wireless mics as an alternative to the expensive DJI Mic 2, they were on offer for £119. Unfortunately they were far too sensitive to use on a bike, they clipped badly at anything over 30mph even set at -12dB so I sent them back. I did record some rides with them but I've been so busy with the Cornwall trip I haven't had time to edit them. As soon as the DJI Mic Minis came out I thought they would be the ones to get so thanks for this, it confirms what I thought. I'm going to wait until I can afford the whole kit because I want to use one in the helmet and one at the back of the bike. Cheers, Mick
Morning Mick. Now then, if you saved up a bit more, bought an OA5 Pro, you could use two mics at the same time, without the need of a receiver, so no worries about being caught in the rain. The OA5 Pro, does the syncing trickery for you, so no need to sync in editing…….it’s all so very scary 😂 Cheers
Can't fault this latest set-up Ian. It doesn't matter how happy we are with our set-up, we always strive for improvements. I've been thinking for a while about moving up to an Action 4, so once this cash-draining anti-climax of a Christmas season is out of the way, I'll do something about it. Personally I couldn't care less about the fact that DJI is Chinese - it's bloody good kit! Question though - d'you reckon one mic-mini transmitter would feed two cameras?? Thanks for this one anyway Ian, particularly interesting. Cheers
Thanks Martin. No, I don’t think one mic Mini will link to two camera’s. It will only link to one at a time. If you were wanting to go down that route, you would need two camera’s and two mics. If you bought the OA5, two mics can link via Bluetooth at the same time, without a receiver, but that doesn’t answer your question 😂. If you don’t mind me asking, what is your thought behind the question ?
Hi Ian, just trying to simplify my set-up. I currently have an original Osmo Action, along with my OA 3, so I intend retiring the OA and buying an OA 4, particularly with the price dropping. I'll just stick with my MOMO wireless for the OA 3 and get a mic mini for the OA 4. Confused? you should be 'cos it's making my brain hurt!! 😅
@martintraffordmoorlandbike7121 hmm, have you made any progress with Davinci Resolve ? That’s where I work this magic. On the “me facing” camera, there isn’t a mic linked. The voice you hear while you are looking at me, is recorded on the Helmet camera. I wish I could show you, to show how “easy” (when you know how), it is ! If I get the chance at some point, I could try and video the process, though I do know whether it would flicker too much. Have you managed to add content into Davinci ? Just so I have a start point.
250 all in for a 4k camera and wireless mic is incredible. I eventually chose -12 no noise cancelling, mainly because the VFR is pretty loud already lol.
It amazes me, just how simple, and reasonably priced, excellent quality motovlogging set up is now. I started in 2018, and anything a fraction of this quality, was silly money by comparison. Like you, I hope others find this video of some use. I will try sticking with -10, and try a low noise cancellation, just to see if we can eliminate some of the rumble (wind), but to be honest, having proof watched this on our big telly with subwoofer, I am mightily impressed. With my old wired set up, I recorded at -6 then increased volume to +20 (and beyond), but with this, I actually reduced the volume to -3 as the equaliser was still going well into the red. Dropping to -3 saw us just going into it occasionally. Thanks for your help.
Did you like the audio in the video ? The in camera volume was set at -10, though I might try at -12 next time out. I found I had to reduce audio volume in editing to -3, as it was still hitting the red on the equaliser (Davinci Resolve 19). Helmet make and type alters everything too, so just play with the settings to get what is right for you. Mainly wanting exhaust sound, isn’t really going to happen when the mic is in the helmet, as you will get all the other ambient sounds too ! On my next video, (out Monday), I travel at 70mph, so you can see what it’s like on there (at -10) if you like.
@NurseAdventures after you connect the mic Mini to the camera (in my case Osmo Action 4), on the right side of the camera screen there are 3 symbols. The top is the battery, the middle is your quick settings….tap on that. A little box pops up, top line has 3 symbols, tap on the middle one. Another box appears. The left one is for recording volume adjustment (Transmitter Gain) , tap on that. There is now a sliding scale, which you move with your finger, to your required setting…..over to the left is the minus. This video was at -10.
😂 you know me James, like a red rag to a bull, if I see it, I have to get it 😂 as for the mic, it’s bloody brilliant. 👍 As I mentioned, there are loads of tutorials on TH-cam, who can explain settings and connections far better than me. Once set up, it’s a doddle to use. If you want to know more, just message me 😉. Cheers

Thanks Glynn, pleased you enjoyed it. The Mic Mini is a real step up in my humble opinion.
Bike sounds great Ian
Thank you, much appreciated.
Hi Ian, the sound was good well done with your new camera
Thanks Paul, appreciated 👍
Well played Ian dji mic and the action 4 iv got the mic 2 on my setup with the action 4 cam your sound is great

@theadventuresofbellatheenf4627 thanks Andy, I have been saying that for years 😂, just need to convince the others now 🫣😂
Spot on sound! I’d say that is a win!
Thanks Steven.
@TheNorfolkThunderbolt Hi Steven I think Ian must have sold 10 for DJI already 😃
The sound quality seemed fine Ian. Think you’re onto a winner. 👍
Thanks Nick. I think you are right 👍
Sounds very good to me Ian. Money well spent in my opinion.
Thanks Dale, much appreciated.

Morning Ted, sorry to hear about your wife, it’s all about priorities. I had an Akaso for a short time, didn’t get on with it so sold it on. I have never looked back since discovering DJI 😉. Cheers
Quality of video and sound are pretty dam good to be honest Ian ,Scorpio is smoothing out and punching along nicely. 👍

Thanks Adrian, nor me, but really wanted to go wireless, just so much easier. Plus, no need to worry if it starts raining while out.
Sound and vision's good, Ian. You're obviously enjoying Scorpio - and why not? 👍👍
Thanks Chris, yes…brilliant bike.
I can even hear that washboard 😊
😂
Audio nice and clear…thank you 😀👍
Brilliant, thank you.

Is it to produce footage from another angle, like me adding my “me facing” footage ?
That's about the size of it Ian, although in my case it's to mount the second camera on Daisy's sidecar with views of Chloe in the chair.
Whats your settings?? I mainly want exhaust sounds
@ yes, i like the whole video :) how do you adjust the camera volume?
@NurseAdventures after you connect the mic Mini to the camera (in my case Osmo Action 4), on the right side of the camera screen there are 3 symbols. The top is the battery, the middle is your quick settings….tap on that. A little box pops up, top line has 3 symbols, tap on the middle one. Another box appears. The left one is for recording volume adjustment (Transmitter Gain) , tap on that. There is now a sliding scale, which you move with your finger, to your required setting…..over to the left is the minus. This video was at -10.
@ thank you so much for the help!
@NurseAdventures no problem.
Let him in front go and talk about the mic you have me interested 😊
😂 you know me James, like a red rag to a bull, if I see it, I have to get it 😂 as for the mic, it’s bloody brilliant. 👍 As I mentioned, there are loads of tutorials on TH-cam, who can explain settings and connections far better than me. Once set up, it’s a doddle to use. If you want to know more, just message me 😉. Cheers
All sounds good to me another £49 this vlogging lark is bankrupting me 😊😅😂
To be honest James, it could just be the best £49 you could spend. Especially considering the ease of connecting to the OA4.
@ianhughesroyalenfield sold
I don't think you were hearing clipping behind that lorry. I think it was picking up debris strikes on the helmet and bike.
Hmm, you could be right, there was a lot of crap coming off it 🤬 Cheers
