I love Sicily! I wish Americans would have a more Italian style. Also, thank you for reminding people to dress modestly in churches!
Sticking out like a sore thumb is a good way to let pickpockets and worse hone in on you as a target. I am more and more aware of this as I get older and realize what people think of me, or think they can do to me, has nothing to do with me. You can make yourself a stereotype, and you are not always sure what that stereotype might be. Trying to not stand out is common sense if you want to relax and enjoy the journey.
We were in Sicily last year and the people were so well dressed in all the cities.. beautiful clothes
This is helpful! I plan on retiring there to be closer to my roots and my family. California's style is so very different. It's extremely casual. You can go to the grocery store, restaurants or even a movie theater looking like you're heading to the beach. I'm very excited to make my ancestors home my second home.
Amo la Sicila!! Sempre nel mio cuore ♥️♥️
I like the sound of your Dad! Sounds like my kind of bloke.
Fantastic suggestions!
please do a video of Sicilian street style! Grazie!
Absolutely! I'll definitely consider doing a video on Sicilian street style. Thank you for the suggestion! Stay tuned for future videos. Grazie!
really good video. really good info. thank you.
Keep doing the good work nico 👏 🇮🇹💙
What is the Italian view on quality shorts when you eat out and the likes? (The more dressy kind that is sold by labels like Morris and Polo Ralph Lauren.)
Any Sicilian clothing brands you could reccomend? It would be nice to learn some local products.
Ciao! I am heading to Sicily for the first 2 weeks in November. I'm so excited!! Arriving in Catani, then on to Agrigento, Trapani, Lipari. Please, what do I wear at that time of the year? Do I need a full trench coat? Will it be too cool to wear a skirt? Can I wear linen still? I am coming from New York. Grazie mille for your help! M
Ciao! November in Sicily can be quite pleasant, but it's important to note that in recent years, the climate has been quite unpredictable. While you might not need a full trench coat, it's a good idea to bring a light jacket or sweater for the evenings. During the day, you can still wear skirts and linen, but it's always wise to layer with a light scarf or shawl for added comfort. It's best to check the weather forecast a few days before your trip to get a better idea of what to expect. Have a fantastic time in Sicily ;)
Is there a reason you use the smallest finger to count out "the first reason" rather than your pointing finger?
And do you have a video about what all the hand and arm gestures mean? (Or why Italians use them.)
Ciao! In Italian culture, we count starting from the thumb as number one and follow with the other fingers. As for using the smallest finger to represent "the first reason," it's just a personal habit and doesn't have a specific cultural significance.
As for the hand and arm gestures, they are an integral part of Italian communication and are used to convey various meanings and emotions. I don't have a specific video on hand gestures yet, but it's a great idea, and I will definitely consider creating one in the future. Stay tuned!
Thank you for your interest and for your questions
How do Sicilian men avoid dying of heath if they wear...anything other than shorts and t-shirt?
Great video and good advice. Wherever I go I try to dress modestly and dress like the locals so I don't stand out. Just makes life easier. But it constantly surprises me how many Americans insist on dressing like shit in the most god awful outfits they can throw together, and it's somehow a point of pride for them. I really don't get it.
I am a fat English man with a big belly and a red face. I want to wear my football shirts every day, and dont iron my underpants. Will this be successful in Palermo?
Me and my husband will move to Sicily as soon as we can, we don’t know how to speak Italian and we only wear black colour clothes,, 😀😀😀😀😀😀😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
Moving to Sicily will be a wonderful adventure for you both. Learning Italian will be a breeze once you're immersed in the local culture, and I'm sure you'll pick it up in no time. As for wearing black, feel free to express yourselves however you like😃 Best of luck with your move, and I'm here if you need any further assistance
Hahahah
Get on with it...blah,blah,blah
