I was in Palermo in April. The local bus system is great! I used it a lot. Just keep 5 or 6 tickets in your wallet all the time so you don’t get stuck looking for somewhere to buy one. Some buses even have security guards on board. The Prestia e Commande bus is easy and convenient too. Took trains to Agrigento and Cefalu. We took the InterBus bus to Siracusa….excellent. No problem getting around Sicily at all! Don’t believe the guidebooks that say it’s difficult, it’s not at all. Loved it.❤
Ciao! Unfortunately, the shared taxi doesn't go all the way to Mondello. It follows the same route as the Prestia e Comandè shuttle bus. You can check the stops for both the shared taxi and the shuttle here: www.prestiaecomande.it/orari-e-linee/. To get to Mondello, you'll need to get into the city first, then take bus 806, or you can explore other routes from the city depending on where you get off using this site: www.moovitapp.com/palermo-2804/poi/en. The only way to go directly from the airport to Mondello is by taking a regular taxi.
Informative video with a good Sicilian vibe. Also, when talking about various options pls mention prices too - e.g. taxi from airport will cost xx, but you can be charged xx++. Same goes for other options you mentioned.
Hey! We are traveling to Sicily in September. We are landing in Catania and spending a couple of days there before heading to Palermo. I see there are busses going from Catania to Palermo directly. Are those reliable? Thank you for all the information on this channel :)
Ciao! The buses from Catania to Palermo are reliable, but you might also want to consider taking the train. It's more comfortable and faster. You can check the Trenitalia website for schedules and tickets
Great info, grazie! Quick question: We will have a rental car and visit Palermo for the day. Is there a place to park near the city center or should we park away from the city enter by the airport or somewhere else and get a bus?? thanks in advance!
Grazie, Nico! These videos you have shared are so helpful! Even seeing the picture of the airport bus & their sign helps so much! I will be in Puglia next May and am going to fly over to Palermo for five nights to enjoy the city - probably take a train over to Cefalu one morning. My B&B hotel is between the Cathedral & the No Mafia Memorial. Okay location for an older female solo traveler?
Grazie mille! I'm glad you found the videos helpful! Your B&B hotel location sounds excellent. Via Vittorio Emanuele is a vibrant and central street, which makes it convenient for exploring the city. Being close to the central station is an added advantage for your trip to Cefalù. You should feel quite comfortable there, just always be mindful of your surroundings as you would in any city. Enjoy your stay in Palermo and have a wonderful trip to Cefalù! Safe travels! A presto
Ciao! It really depends on your destination. If you're heading to Cefalù, there's a direct train you can catch. Just check out trenitalia.com for the schedule. For Polizzi Generosa, there's only one direct bus service. You can find more info on that at saistrasporti.it. As for Erice, you'll first need to get to Trapani with a Segesta bus, and then from there, catch another bus up to Erice. Generally, the smaller and less touristy the town, the fewer and less frequent transport options you'll find
Ciao! Traveling by bus or train is viable when moving between the larger cities like Palermo, Siracusa, and Catania. The public transportation infrastructure is decent for these major routes. However, it's when you wish to venture to the smaller towns that you might encounter challenges with limited schedules and connections. So, if your main destinations are these major cities, you should be just fine! Safe travels!
Hi! Quick question: how relax is it to use the (shared) taxi without the car seat for toddler? I want to go from the airport to Palermo with taxi because we will arrive late in the evening. What do you think?
Ciao Giang! Some parents do it without any issues and find that taxi drivers drive more carefully when there's a little one on board. But, of course, it's important to remember that it's ultimately your call and you'll have to weigh the risks involved
Ciao Sabrina, it really depends on what your college sons are looking for during their stay. Cefalù and Mondello offer beautiful beaches, but the nightlife might be less exciting for young adults. On the other hand, Palermo has a more vibrant nightlife scene that may be more appealing to them. Since you'll be there for 5 days, you might consider staying in Palermo and taking advantage of the direct bus to Mondello beach, which takes about 25 minutes. This way, you can experience both the lively atmosphere of Palermo and the relaxing beaches in Mondello
would i get in trouble bringing ritaline in sicily this with a dutch explanation why i need it. I was a bit scared to do this when i was going to greece so i left it at home, but i know in Italy they don't even speak english so...
Don't worry, there are bus services available to the city center even in the late evening. You will be able to reach your destination comfortably. Enjoy your trip to Palermo in June!
Very useful video. Please try to look straight into the camera, you have your head tilted back most of the time and it is unpleasant for the viewer. Thank you for the good info.

Visiting Palermo in early September with my dad. Your channel is great man!
grazie mille! ❤
Thank you!!! 🙏I'll take airport bus for sure
thank you for sharing , will take the bus .
Thank you so much for sharing this info! I am staying in Mondello-would the shared taxi from the airport take me that far? I’m arriving around 10 pm

The train is also very practical to move around the city as a sort of metro - it's super reliable.
What would you recommend is the best way to travel to a smaller town, Polizzi Generosa? Or Erice? Would public transport not be good?

How do I get from Trapani to Palermo city?
You can take a bus from Trapani to Palermo city using the Segesta Company. Safe travels!
where would i rent a motorcycle or motorscooter or travel outside the city instead of a car?
There are numerous scooter rental options available in Palermo. Among the popular choices is a rental service named Mondello Rent.
I am going to arrive in Palermo in June I will arrive around 9pm I hope some train will go
