It is just not possible to wear a jacket like that without getting drenched in sweat in a tropical country. It's not what Italian's wear, it's how they wear it and how they inhabit the clothing they wear. There is a confidence instilled in them from a young age that enables them to wear the clothing well. Having spent a long time in Italy, and having lived with an Italian family is it fair to say that Italian style is not really about clothing but a way of life wherein everything is beautiful - your manners, your appearance, your food, your friendships, etc. Something us non-Italian's can appreciate and admire as a spectator.

As someone who has lived in Italy for years I can say that it's just not nearly as hot or humid as most places in the states. You only see Italians dress like the images above in Milan (Milan Italians are vastly different from all the other Italians across italy). Italians are not different from anywhere in the sense that a college aged person is gonna look like every other college aged person across the globe, this works for every demographic. The biggest thing is that men's clothing is more affordable and accessible in Italy

I disagree, I recently lived in the Prati district of Rome from early March to the end of May and many of the men there (especially those older than 30) dressed similarly to those images. I got skeptical looks from the Romans for wearing anything less than a collared short sleeved shirt while walking around the city.

I think their relaxed attitude plays a lot as does the general culture of clothes .
Most Englishmen in suits look like they have come from court or an interview
Most Frenchmen in suits look like they got lost going to their uncles wedding
But nearly every Italian guy I saw looked like he just got up and still looked amazing

Very good video. My partner is Italian so go to Italy very often to see her family and eat 😅 great food. I saw some comments that stated that this is mainly in Milan. This is not true. I often go to Puglia which is in the south (near the heel 😂). Most men, especially over 30 dress very nicely. I bought some nice clothes on my last trip. Including a wool sports jacket (with no liner) and some shirts. All made in Italy (near Bari). I do feel there is a lot of choice and those Italian brands are more accessible and better quality then some more well known expensive international brands. I look up to my father in law as he is all class😊.

    1. Caring about what others think
    2. Not believing in yourself
    3. Not experimenting different ideas / solutions for problems (life&business)
    4. Not prioritizing your health
    5. Wasting your precious time

I learned a lot just by talking to the tailors and artisans.

Im in Italy for the first time right now - we researched how they dress and the big thing was “always fancy, never wear shorts.” We got to Rome and EVERYONE was wearing shorts and tshirts. There are definitely nicely dressed guys and women, better on average than sloppy Americans, but my very brief experience is that Italians are not wearing suits constantly, but look great in casual wear / dress nicer at night. Half what I packed for trip is untouched… nice linens tho :)

It is true that most might think that a jacket is just too hot in summer, but if you get the right kind of fabric and construction it can almost be just as comfortable as when not wearing it. I live in a tropical country and I’m fine wearing a sports coat most of the time. Maybe something that also makes Europeans look “stylish” to Americans (sorry for generalizing) is the sense of dressing for the occasion. I for example personally would never think of going out to the shop in my home/gym clothes and even worse for a coffee or lunch. I think that “stylish” people usually have the following traits:
    1. Dressing for the occasion (clothes for different purpose). It should look intentional.
    2. Feeling at easy in what you wear (no fussiness)
    3. That the clothes looks “lived in”. Sounds strange but somehow it, in my opinion, it looks better when things aren’t too perfect (maybe relates to the fussiness). It should look like you are wearing your clothes not the other way around.

In the summer you’d want to wear trousers, patch pocket blazers, polo shirts, t shirts, or button up shirts made out of sea island cotton, linen, mulberry silk, lotus silk, bamboo fabric, lightweight wools, hemp, or blends of those materials in summer colors as well as standard colors that can be mixed together easily like blues, khakis, browns, whites, and grey. Open weave or lightly knitted sweaters can also be layered when it’s a little colder in the mornings or evenings. Woven leather shoes can also help keep your feet cool, along with fabric and leather shoes like derby’s or loafers, even boat shoes. Everything should be slim cut but with just enough let out in just the right areas to breathe and move properly.

Breathable does not work as well as sweat wicking does so a light weight mernio wool or really any 100% wool should work vastly better then breathable light fabics that just trap sweat and rain making you even hotter... Which I learned this from special forces who fought un in the artic mountains in winter... Which the hardest part is not the cold it's the sweat which will kill you if you let it freeze... So, they have a system to wick the sweat from the skin to the outer layer wear it doesn't matter... The same thing in hot whether.

Performance Wool trousers are another solid choice next to the lightweight pair. I also have a pair of plaid trousers but not sure if they were designed for hot weather. They are made with Viscose so I imagine that they could also be worn. My Chinos and Wool trousers can definitely be worn year round. Keep up the good work Antonio!

Nice video, I was really interested in the collar design and nice look of the Collar and Co shirts until I browsed their site. As usual, impossible to find my size, large-tall LT. A standard large just won't stay tucked in for me. I am 6'1 and 215 lbs. Even at big and tall shops I can find XLT and XXLT etc all day long, but never any LT's.

You have to do a study on the style of Ferrari’s Head Designer. Flavio Manzoni has impeccable style when he’s dressed.
Stephen Winklemenn of Lamborghini dresses very sharply as well.

If you are very lean and your measure of hot weather is nothing above 29°C yes it makes sense.
If you have the body of a Viking stereotype or faces weathers with temperatures above 29°C any discussion on style becomes irrelevant.
There is no way a I can wear a jacket with thermometers surpassing 33°C.

I tried Collars & Co., which are a 100% Polyester, which do not breath. A stylish gentleman should never wear polyester. He should only wear natural fabrics; cotton, linen, silk and wool. He should also never wear short sleeves shirts. If it’s hot you can roll up your sleeves.
A stylish man should wear leather shoes. No sneakers. A great summer shoe is the Belgian Loafer, especially with the no sock look.
I’m not a big fan of shorts, unless you are at a beach resort. They are never appraise in the city. No away from cargo shorts.

Hey Antonio, I just finished watching your video, I'll have to disagree about wearing fragrance during hot weather. Because, I live in the 3rd Driest country on planet earth, Jordan.
I promise you my friend, there's nothing worse than the smell of fragrance mixed with body sweat in the summer! & that is inevitable!!
My best tip is to shower daily & use baby powder in the vital areas to soak up the sweat.
Thanks for taking the to read my comment till the end, like I watch your videos till the very end 😉
