dude i come from the great wall video and dont ever say that nobody watches these. remember these moments as you grow, enjoy your journeys, you will be big!
Oii literally me. Also been binging the china series and love the candor. You make lush videos and amazing to see someone commit to travelling. Fully experiencing a place like a local as opposed to hotels resorts, holidays etc. We watch n we love ;')
Just found you yesterday and now I’m binge watching the lot…I love travel vloggers…well I love seeing where they go, but you seem proper decent, humble, thankful and kind to the kids. Subbed keep up the good work
She said at 13:00 minute mark "Do you know your way?" "What if you get lost?"...She was basically double checking whether you knew the way back to Ha Noi
It’s my first time watching this guy and I subscribed as soon as he ripped it and said " Right... Yeah...go Vietnam" after not understanding a word those kids said 😂
The algorithm has favored you friend, you appeared on my home page one day and have stayed there. I've now clicked and yunno, pretty good adventure. Subbed.
amazing content here, but that beautiful scenery at around 15:00 - I can't help but notice the hills denuded of trees. Can you imagine this view maybe 100 years ago? - what would it have looked like? I'll bet that village was there then, but those hills would've possibly have been dense forest. It is still beautiful, but you can see it's blighted. So sad.
Such a great channel, Mike. I feel like I'm up there riding the Vietnamese country roads with you. Years ago I rented a bike and toured around Vietnam as well. I loved taking the dirt roads into nowhere to see where adventure leads. This takes me back, so many good memories. Also your open and loving energy is amazing man! Keep it up 👍
Brother You have a lot of control over smoking this tobacco, even Vietnamese locals smoke it, sometimes many of them pass out for a few minutes, the tobacco you smoke has a very high nicotine content
Brudddddahhh, it's Tonks, saw you pop up in my suggested! for dirt roads, and especially bouncy, use more back break than front break (front wheel will lock up very easily on dirt roads when breaking) to slow down, also use less throttle as the engine will do some breaking for you. Good to see you randomly pop up on here haha! take care, and all the best
I was about to mention this but also keep your weight more over the rear wheel. What he said about engine braking is so true, it's incredible how much traction a ROLLING TYRE has. Be safe brother 🙏 @@mikeokay
chocolat is the french word for chocolate. it is beautiful to see that there are still so many tribal people around the world in the 21st century. thank you mike.
I was going to say who wouldn't guess that ?...but then again French people don't understand when you ask for the wifi password because they pronounce it wefe hahahah idiots
Just found about you two weeks ago and you seriously became my second favourite favourite TH-camr in such a short time behind bald and bankrupt you even give off a similar warm hearted vibe keep going it’s great content ✌️ greetings from germany
I spent a lot of time in many parts of Asia, always working in hotels or teaching English, such great experiences and your vids remind me of the times, cheers!
refreshing to see someone so respectful to another countries culture and people. A lot of videos like this on yt have such a passive aggressive tone to them, at the end of the day we're all just people
Met and shared time n conversation with some of the most genuine and loveliest people I’ve ever met in Vietnam . . The only sketchy moments I had were with western people . . Stunning country in ever way . . Did the ha giang loop with my then GF on a 150 cc scooter n was truly blown away by the landscape and people . . Thank you for taking me back dude
Woah feels so good to see those landscapes again. I've been roaming solo in Son La Province at the around the time of this video, we might have crossed path haha Kuddos for exploring the unchartered countryside, this is where adventure really is
Now that marijuana is legal and the prices are cheaper than cigarettes now, And the quality is the best in the world, I couldn't imagine living anywhere where it's still illegal. The feeling of being illegal I cried I was so happy I was able to be legal. The weed helps you forget that it's been 115 for 60 days in a row. Phoenix 🐦🔥
I lived in ho chi minh city for over 3 years. Love that country so much. Love Banh Mi! Oh and the kids in the beginning of the video were asking you what you were doing....I was surprised i remembered so much Vietnamese after 20 years
Great series of videos fella. I've been living in Hanoi for 19 years and love this country so much. I'm still yet to head out to Den Bien Phu on a bike trip, although I intend to do it over a few more days than you. By the way, it was your hitchhiking video to Beijing that brought me here.
Mike, I just started watching your videos a short time ago. But I absolutely love the way you do your trips. You just let things happen man and I absolutely believe the world is meant to be lived in that way. I would love some info on how exactly you do your trips in terms of like where you stay ( when not camping) and how much aside of the trip itself is planned ahead and how far ahead. Be safe out the my friend. From Southern California with Love and wherever I end up working cause I am all over the U.S. Look forward to seeing more.
Hey! Thanks for the comment. During my trips, my accommodation is almost never booked in advance. I travel until the sun goes down, then try to find somewhere then. In Asia you’re always within somewhere to stay! The only time I’ll book accommodation is when entering and leaving a new country. Thanks so watching!
@mikeokay that is super freaking cool, and what a great way to really immerse yourself in your surroundings. Having no choice but to search on foot in person essentially while in the area you're planning on being in sounds about as immersive as it gets being as you have to ask people and try and communicate and what not. And thanks for responding that is super freaking cool of you. I look forward to seeing more as it comes!
excellent bro, keep up the fantastic work. just recently came across your content and appreciate how you share the journey. Cheers bro, ripped a billy with you
Funny you mention the bread. My favorite sandwich is a Mexican torta (I specifically love tortas de carnitas), which is made on bread inspired by French-Spanish interaction during the Spanish occupation of Mexico.
I grew up with a Vietnamese family and my mother never understood a thing any of them said. My dad and I were better at picking up the accent. I would love to go visit Vietnam now that it is thriving. Beautiful country, wonderful food and such kind people.
My ex is Asian and she said there is a great respect for your elders and everyone older is either auntie, or uncle. I love that. Americans don't respect their elders, but look at them as excess waste, in a way. It's sad.
oh bro i also wanted to travel australia and thailand but looking how nice ever family is id be staying and talking them the whole day xD respect that u can leave
Man I want to do this so bad .. any tips ? I want to fly into the north side and drive down the coast toward ho Chi Minh City and fly back once I get there. Where do you rent a bike once you’re in Vietnam and how do you find places/hostiles to stay ? This video was awesome btw I’d love to smoke with granny
So I was watching a Deadliest Journey: Nepal episode and the nomad tribes were on there and a comment saying about how they may be disappeared by 10yrs time was replied by saying your TH-cam name and you had recently stayed with them recently. I searched you and that’s all she wrote!

Great book.
Who writes this book?
Jack Kerouac. I also read it in my 20s, but I did live the life of the book, now I'm 57, still On the Road!@@angelocalabrese3463
