- In this video, I continue our culinary adventure by trying out some Peruvian dishes, giving my honest review of the food i had through the day, scoring it on its affordability, taste and then finally giving our stand out dish.

Peruvian cuisine is not hidden, it's everywhere and well deserved! It the most prominent foreign cuisine in Chile for example too. Damn, I could even bath in a sea of Salsa Huancaina, this is dope! Greetings from a Chilean in Viña del Mar.

yes, we have many ingredients, but you have to know how to mix them, how much to mix and when to mix. The women of this country with their ingenuity have created the current cuisine that we have. Each mother in this country is like a mini chef, and each one with a different way of preparing the same dish, that is why what you eat in Lima is not the same as Arequipa, it is not the same as Cusco, it is not the same as in the jungle, or it is not the same in the north of our country. all thanks to the women.
My personal recommendation is to try everything separately at first and then start mixing.

Otro punto es que siendo de un país ajeno, que ni siquiera está cerca geográficamente, demuestra que la comida es lo suficientemente buena como para ser reconocida y llegar hasta muchos rincones del mundo...
Y por último, por que esto se trata de países... La gastronomía de este video se presenta como GASTRONOMÍA PERUANA, no solo gastronomía y ya.

Te invito a que visites Perú 🇵🇪 a probar la verdadera sazón peruana con insumos frescos y nativos de las zonas.Veo el tono de la chicha y no está concentrada, veo que está diluida. La verdadera chicha es súper concentrada y tiene un color más intenso junto con otro sabor. Como los demás platos que degustastes😊. No te vas a arrepentir.

Tenemos infinidad de platos: tenemos desde region costa, region sierra, selva y de nuestro mar peruano.. son miles de plato ricos que tienes que probar... haber di pruebas la pachamanca que se cocina debajo de la tierra es muy espectacular que lo hacian nuestros ancestros los incas de Machupichu del peru.. Your pronunciation of Peruvian dishes is great, I was surprised, By the way, the lamb from the last restaurant probably had MUÑA as an ingredient, which is a kind of Andean mint, which is used in the preparation of Pachamanca. Greetings from Peru!

For Pachamama we use "chincho" a kind of aromátic herb from"sierra" of Perú , And also "huacatay"

I used to live in Southwark and Sabor Peruano was my to-go place for comfort food!
I am Spanish from Peruvian parents and it was so nice to have food from the motherland without the pretentiousness of the more expensive restaurants in town.
The manager and staff were always so nice and accommodating.
Gotta go back for another visit soon!

As a peruvian myself, im glad you went to more homie restaurants, I feel like they are more traditional than the more modern hipster restaurants like the 2nd one you went to.
Also thats yellow sauce you had with the fired yuca is call huncaina sauce and it was the same sauce as in the potato in the first restaurant. It's made of cheese and evaporated milk mostly (no mayonnaise 🙂)

@Cheat Day Around The World they sell it in sachets, you can go to a market to get the ´´huancaína A la Cena´´ and some other sauces like TARI and UCHUCUTA (if you like spicy ones)

Hay una variante en donde se fríe un poco el ají, un poco de cebolla, y un diente de ajo... Esa a mi parecer en la más rica.

Good video! Peru, has the best food! There is a lot of variety for all tastes, with lots of native ingredients, ancient and modern cuisine. It is the birthplace of the potatoes, of which there are over 3,000 varieties in Peru. Also, the Native American Indian, cuisine, with the added influences of immigrants from Asia, Europe, and Africa, has added to the dimension of its gastronomy. The reason why I adore Peruvian food is because since our country has so many different cultures integrated into one (Spanish, Chinese, Italian, Japanese, and even Venezuelan in the recent years) that we have really good food variety.
Chifa (The mix with Chinese and Peruvian food) for example is one of my favourites. I advice you to try it out next time!
If you ever manage to find the lucuma fruit, the best way I could describe the flavor and texture when it's ready to eat is "a caramel custard flavored sweet potato". It's really good but you gotta eat it when it's just right, otherwise it's hard and chalky.

Chaufa was born in the center of Lima, when merchant chinese inmigrants at the end of the day cooked fried rice with leftovers from the stuff they used to sell and then they used to call everyone saying "CHI FAN" (饎飯) something like "come and eat our rice!", since language was a problem they only say "CHI FAN CHI FAN" so people misheard and named the food as CHIFA.
CHIFA is the name of restaurants serving chinese-peruvian food, specially chaufa which is one of the most popular dishes in our cuisine, wherever you go, there's ALWAYS a Chifa.
It's made of fried rice seasoned with green onions, ginger, salt, soy sauce, chinese cinnamon, some sesame oil and some "secret" depending of the cheff; you also add some eggs and chicken/pork meat in little pieces, that's the most classic chaufa everyone loves to eat here.

Peruvian Food is the best , there is a reason why Perú wins the best Culinary Destination of South America in the awards , year after year . They are regularly up there with China and Japan , Italy competing in World awards. The variety of food you can find in Perú is insane. If you think it tastes great with the sauces, spices at a London based Peruvian restaurant just imagine how good the food is in Lima, Cusco or any other city in Peru.
