Hello! I'm a male First Grade teacher in Tennessee. I enjoyed watching the video. Right now, we have a virtual teacher that teaches from her classroom and we have about 19 a piece. Half of the students come Monday and Tuesday, Wednesday gas(sanitize) the building, then the other half of the students come Thursday and Friday. The days the kids are not at school, they will complete some online tasks or packets.

I wish we would be doing something like that but our district...but alas we are full class face to face 5 days a week :-/

Even though DESE has said 3ft is okay, our superintendent has mandated we keep it to 6ft. So every classroom will be measured and outfitted for however many desks fit at that distance. I have tables in my room so I’m guessing they’ll be removed and the excess desks from upper grades would be put in The K classrooms.. . I have no idea🤷🏽‍♀️😭 Once the rooms are measured and outfitted, we’ll know how many kids we can have.

That’s got to be impossible! How many students will be in your room?

Kindergarten All-Stars I have no idea yet. Parents will choose either remote or traditional. If more parents than available seats opt for in person then there will be a lottery for in person. My classroom is pretty big so I’m guessing probably 15 but other rooms in the district would probably have like 8-12. Sigh...
