Fellow Albertan here - I must admit I laughed when the label came into view. I am glad I found your channel and look forward to watching your other videos.
Hey Cindy! I'm glad you liked my Coulee Powder Co.! I'm still trying to figure out where Nowhere, Alberta is! Then we would be able to finally go to the middle of nowhere and it would not be the middle of a farmers field! I'm glad you found my channel, and keep your eyes peeled as I'm sure there will be a ton more references as time goes on! Thanks for watching :)
The used oak barrels are amazing, I live near a distillery and they sell off their used barrels locally and for around $90 Canadian they are brilliant props! I have been tempted to build a blunderbuss prop, as it's one of those I don't see often! The only thing is, when it comes to handled props I prefer to build them out of wood or 3d print them as my other materials just don't hold up as well! Thanks for watching :)
Full sized barrels are their own worst enemy, as the size of them quickly becomes an issue of support and a ton materials. Then to make them out of wood is an art form to itself. I’m also spoiled as I have a distillery nearby that sells all their full sized oak barrels every year for $90. Hard to build them for that much. I will put on my thinking cap to see if I can figure out a alternative! Thanks for watching Misty!
Thank you for posting this barrel video. I plan to build one for a pirate theme. This is perfect! Kudos! Update: This afternoon I downloaded your templates, cut foam, scored it for wood grain and glued it up. Barrel came out great and fits my pirate scene perfectly. Did it in about 4 1/2 hours. Tomorrow I paint it. Thanks again.
These barrels have to be one of the easiest straight forward EVA foam projects with a great result. I found them very relaxing to build and the end result is great. Some people have sent me pictures of their finished barrels and I am always impressed with the creativity of my viewers! Regardless, I am so happy you enjoyed the video and followed through and built a barrel for yourself! Thanks for watching @lightman500
Thank you BeefChicken! Also thanks for your Patreon Support! I realized after I did the video that I had not thanked you on the video, but your name IS on the end scroll :) Thanks for watching bro!
Thanks a bunch Boabop Arts! This was an enjoyable prop to build and it actually is a pretty quick build as well! I may go and design a pirate RUM label for one more cask as it just seems like the piratey thing to do! I try to document every step, but man sometimes I get carried away and have to backtrack to make sure everyone else can follow my process! lol. Thanks for watching :)
Looks great. If you take some sandpaper and thin the back of your labels it makes it a bit easier to wrap around the shape better. I started making one of those a few years ago but never finished. Might have to try again. Thanks for sharing.
I might have to try that North Court, I understand why in most pictures of these barrels the label is on the top! lol.I'm just vain and wanted to see the label in a display without having to put the barrel on its side. This one, outside of making all the wood grain lines is a really quick build. Though I am lucky that the EVA foam mats had such a great color from sun bleaching so I didn't require paint. Thanks for watching!
You missed an opportunity to recommend putting on a Staves album while carving staves. Their Dead & Born & Grown album has contributed a few songs to my playlist, so I think I’m recommending that one. Oh hey, nice strop, I Have the same one too I think We have the same dad There I made a haiku for you.
I looked them up, not a bad artist, would be perfect for listening to on lazy Saturday night where we would normally have listened to Finklemans 45's. That strop dad gave us has got so much use, specially as I do so much work with foam, keeping a blade sharp is imperative and man that thing is never far from my workspace.
Beautiful job, Samhain!! This way I can actually replace the poor, neglected, rusty barrel outside my house.🥴 Hey! Guess where I’m going next month. I’m taking my mom to an Elvis Festival on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls. She chose that over my idea of going to a haunter convention.😂
Thanks Fraidy, I really enjoyed making this one. So much I made it twice! I was really happy how the labels for the kegs turned out as I did have some real fun making them. As for coming to Canada for an Elvis festival, you just have to have the right point of view to make it more Halloweeny. Remember everyone who is dressed as Elvis is Cosplaying as a dead person! In our circle we just call them zombies. Thanks for watching and support!
You might very well love my prop coming this week and next then!! I am working on an explosive idea! lol. Thanks for your support Joey & Allanah! :) Let me know what theme you are doing and I might be able to throw together a barrel label that matches it perfectly!
@@SamhainPropworks oh wow. You are without a doubt, one of the best content creators for prop building on TH-cam. We haven't solidified a theme beyond "haunted gold mine" yet, but am very much looking forward to what you have for the next video.
I'm so happy you find the videos useful! Sometimes the hard part is finding new projects to do while keeping them accessible. The wooden wheel and ship wheel from last year are awesome, but the gear needed to make them is definitely a deeper point of entry. So if you are ever looking for a specific prop throw the idea my way and you might be surprised for it to become a video soon after!
HAH! Thanks for catching that, I was like "I should know this shape" and since nothing I do is scripted you get the true data stream right from my brain. Thanks for watching Stan!
@@SamhainPropworks no worries, when I first watched it I immediately was like it’s a dodecagon!! then I ignored it but when I went and watched the new dynamite video (which is awesome by the way) it came to mind again and this time the gremlins in my brain were like screw it, I will totally comment. Great video as always😃

Great job! Love em. Just what I need to make for my Elvish LOTR bedroom. Because you know how Wood Elves love their wine....lol THanks
This is so cool! Thanks for posting!
Glad you enjoyed the build! It’s a fun and easy prop with a great outcome! Thanks for watching!
Am getting 3 used barrels. They are 50 quid each though. Have you ever built a musket rifle, I cant find a toy one anywhere, pistols yes but not rifle.

Thanks Danny glad you enjoyed the video! It was a fun build and I am glad you enjoyed it!
downloaded and subscribed thank you!
Love it. Thanks. Perhaps you can make some full size wooden barrels.

Love it! Another thing to add to my collection. I've made the shield and the torches. 💚😊
EVA foam is such versatile stuff! I have a few projects in the next bit using it, but might not be in the medieval theme! Thanks for watching Helle!
