What a great project! Might consider making them a little shorter for the solo cup, so the cup sits proud of the top. With the lip of the solo cup flush with the top edge of the foam, you'll have to put your mouth on the foam to take a drink. Or you could use a bendy straw with your viking cup. ;)
Thanks Steven for the insperation, good fun little project to do during lockdown...after workshop remodel I lost my way making as all props went into the office...great job cant wait to see the paint job :D
Super glue is instant but if your contact cement isn't holding you have one of two issues. 1 there is to much glue being applied. you only need a thin coating any additional adhesive will will prevent it from drying properly. or 2 the contact cement is old and needs to be replaced. after the glue is dry about 3-4 minutes ( I sometimes us a hairdryer to speed up this process) they should stick together fine
Heyy, I live in the UK and want to make one using the red cups but I don't know the size needed. Could anyone tell what Oz cup is being used in regards for the templates? THanks
So what would I do to calculate the thickness of the foam when making the walls if I’m making my own custom size? Like if I wanna make a mug and have half inch foam and I have a piece of paper that is the exact size of the object but it’s not the same size as the foam would make it if that makes any sense lol.
I'd try and duplicate your wood texture from your Harley Hammer build, raise some of the sections with added foam, for a less clean, more natural look for a druid PC, maybe a sprig of new growth coming off the side
i’m a little confused, the templates don’t have any size reference. no ruler mark, no dimensions. nor is it announced. i’ll just measure a can i guess, kinda makes the template pointless. cool project though
It’s not confusing just follow the directions on my website and open the PDF templates in adobe acrobat or adobe reader and click “poster” in the page size area that scales it properly over several sheets regardless of your paper size. I have followers all over the world with different paper sizes

This is a really sweet idea for masking drinks at LARP events, if you want to have a beer or cola in the evening!
This is a super fun, quick project! =D
Super fun idea! Can totally see them at like dnd partys
DeathBright Hell yeah that’s the main reason I was thinking too. Awesome D&D props!!
Hi friends! =D
Really amazing work! Thank you for taking the time to make this tutorial!
Thanks! And you’re welcome 👍
What a great idea! I think all my D&D playing boys need one. They would make great gifts.
Thanks! Maybe the group loots them off of a band of orcs in the game, but then you actually pull out real cups for the party!
That's awesome. I would suggest putting a little hole in the bottom, that should help with the suction
tad6969 Thanks and yeah I forgot to do that. Figure it will help with condensation too

Awesome work as always! I love the simplicity and how customizable it can be. Thanks for the free templates and another great tutorial.
Great idea, I could totally see other types and themes like sci-fi or mystical
MMMChazburgrz99 Thanks!

This is a sweet idea. Can't wait to make a few.
Sean Russell Thank You!
Wonderful work as always my friend! Thank you!
THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED!!!
Ashen One Enjoy!
I love it! Can't wait to make mine!
this is really cool! But, What do you paint them with that is safe? I know you're not drinking right out of the foam but still...?
I like this a lot. How is it with condensation?
Foam is waterproof so it's fine I did drill a 1\4" hole in the bottom of each to help with suction and any additional moisture
for the glues to work how much time should pass to get them to stick ? mine are just gumming up and not holding.

@@SKSProps thanks i picked up new glue fingers crossed or my cosplaying foam days may be over before they started...lol.
Very new to working with foam so this may be a dumb question! --- Can you use 8mm instead of 10mm for the cup?
You can definitely try it out
I just used 10mm so that it would be a little more sturdy when a cup or can is full
What kind of paint should we use? It would have to be non water base right or is there a sealer we can use?
Blick needs to get its arse in UK

Red solo cups are 16oz

Make a “foam ruler” cut a 1” wide piece and use that to gauge your overall thickness
@@SKSProps awesome thank you so much!!

Jason Arons definitely something to try in the future 👍
the template prints out half the size how do we print this????
I’m having the same issue
Open pdf in adobe acrobat click “poster” for the size that will print PDFs at full size between multiple sheets
@@SKSProps What if we don't have Acrobat?
this is too cool
Thanks!
You should make a fire nation soldier helmet
Thislooks cool
Really cool but no paint?
Check out my Instagram I painted one of the can koozies
*downloads for my dystopian LARP*
Awesome!
awesome but you should paint it.
