there's one thing missing from the section on fairies. the term fairy queen is Shakespearean in pop culture particularly the play called a Midsummer Night's Dream where there was a fairy queen named Titania. and Legend of Zelda isn't the only franchise to pull from that play there's an anime/manga called Fairy Tale where one of the main characters has the title of Fairy Queen she's called Erza Scarlet.

The fierce deity is interesting considering that the mask was more or less created once Link got rid of the optional masks symbolizing the people he helped. It’s almost like the mask is the people’s perception of Link. Assuming of course it is not like Majoras mask which contains some sort of spirit.

Link’s design took inspiration from Peter Pan so the small fairies definitely were inspired by Tinkerbell

Majora's mask was inspired by the Marajoara tribe, that lived in today's Marajo Island in Brazil.

Everything is inspired by mythology and folklore in Zelda.
You should have made a “10 top things in Zelda NOT inspired by mythology or folklore”. Now that would have been hard.

The poes were based on japanese spirits of vengeance who were killed in atrocious ways, likely during wartime or genocides. Look at the locations of poes in twilight princess, ocarina of time and botw and youll find they environmental storytelling hints at executions, mass killings and calculated torture of their enemies.
In fact dead hand seems to be a direct result of desecration considering his arena is a literal pile of human remains. One has to assume that the soul (proven to exist after death considering reincarnation) wouldn't settle and would manifest itself as revenge. Fire is used by poes to cleanse wrongdoings as perceived by a spirit killed unmercifully
