Really enjoyed this video thanks. As a road-only rider, who has just once or twice had to ride his V-Strom on a dirt track for a few hundred yards, I enjoyed 'first time' Bruno's riding. I also liked the fact that you were really open and real about building skills without being a clever-cloggs because you are more experienced. Most of all, I couldn't believe that none of you got really mad when you had a spill. Will check out your other videos, too, thank you.
I could not believe you where riding your bikes off road. I have ridden dirt bikes most of my life and at just over 200 pounds they are no problem. I rode my friends old xt600 a week ago and now i see that it may be harder but more fun with no limit on where you and your friends can go. its now on my bucket list.
Greetings from Cyprus. One thing I've noticed, is that i get dizzy after watching your videos. You guys really know how to have fun. Henrik and the mighty DR rule!
You guys are really funny. And I too think the narrative is VG! I've watched a few of your videos so far. There's just so much to like about the way you guys hang together and have fun. The videos are well put together. Have a good summer guys!
Can't wait. Haven't seen Bruno since that day since he doesn't live that close to us. Just sent him an e-mail to let him know that it only took me 18 months to do the video I promised. I'll ask him about pics etc..
It was great meeting you today and sorry to hear this pit is now closed. Looking forward to watching more of your videos. Keep the shiny side up! Well most of the time anyways...
I love your videos. I learned A LOT from them. Your narration is entertaining and informative... no matter how long the video it never feels too long :) Thanks and keep them coming!
Have enjoyed your videos - good humor, informative narration, challenging riding areas (some water crossings needed paddles or pontoons!). Like many others, I have joined the DS community this year. Started with a KLX 300 and added a DRZ 400 for street legal. So much more fun trying this with a lighter bike. Great sand box to play in!
Hi John. Glad you enjoyed the video. Bruno has come a long way since he borrowed Jason's bike. The two of them did a big ride all across South America since then. Cheers.
Subscribe and like both hit. It's refreshing to see people having fun with their bikes, being humble and dealing with situations in a light and funny way. And btw, those beamers look great.
Another nice video - entertaining and educational. It also warms my handgrips to hear that you guys "average" about 45. I could pull your average up by a couple of years if I lived in Canada. Mostly, it's always a treat to see someone else who refuses to act his age. When my wife complains once again that I'm just a big kid, I'll point to the Awesome Players and say, "yeh, but they started it!" By the way, can't wait to see the new guy's KLR. Hope he has crash bars. Cheers.
Great stuff as always! I too am looking forward to summer, but will settle for spring : ) I started my bike up in the garage last night just to hear it run! Didn't feel like taking it out in the snow and single-digit temps though.
Think I said this in another video but I appreciate your candid videos. I'm 62 and wanting to get an f 700 or 800 (if I can find a good used one) just for gravel roads and camping off the beaten path. Traded in my Super Ten for a Versys 1000 early this year....should have gotten the 650! Good video!
Thanks for the comment. The F bikes are great for hitting the gravel. Rode some guys on Super 10s and they went everywhere. They were working pretty hard though. Since then one bought a big KTM and the other an Africa Twin. Both are happy and still doing lots of dirt.
@@AwesomePlayers since I watched this, I made a spread sheet on a bunch of dual sports bikes. The F bikes are in the running! Weight is a big consideration. Got my local BMW dealer looking out for a good used 700- 800. Keep the dirt side down!
The DR with stock gearing will cruise at a 100km/hr all day. A little buzzy but tolerable. Then when you hit the dirt it will be a lot lighter than a big BMW. You have to pick your compromise. I chose to suffer in the woods and have a nicer road experience. Not always convinced I made the right choice.
Hey man, I ride an f 650 gs Single (which is the same as the g650gs). I would definitely recommend this bike. It by no means the most powerful bike, but it will easily do 85-90 mph. Handles great. Even with knobby tires you can scrape your foot pegs in the corners if you want. Its very competent offroad, and i'm not talking about dirt and gravel roads. I mean mud, sand and rocks, it'll do it all. Great bike.
Glad you like the vid. The rear lights on the BMWs are LED. The flash at very high frequency that the human eye can't see. The camera catches the flashing because of the shutter speed.
The 606 is OK on pavement after it wears in a bit. Still loud and you won't want to push it in the rain for sure unless you can slide a bike a lot better than I can. BTW love the look of the square headlight KLRs. Had two of them and I find the new ones too street bikey.
The KLR is good machine. Used ones are a great value. I've owned 2, Joe had one as did Henrik. Reliable, easy to maintain. Power is modest and the suspension is low end. Gets the job done on the highway, decent on the trail. Lighter than the silly BMWs we ride. Just don't make the big mistake many (myself included) have made of spending tons of money on it trying to perfect it. Skidplate, handguards, heavier springs. Then ride it and enjoy.
Sweet videos man! I just got a Yamaha Super Tenere about a month ago. traded in my Kawasaki Concours 14 and sold off my Suzuki DRZ00S. So far have just done mild gravel roads two-up with my wife and love it! I don't plan on going into the deep stuff anymore, but it sure is fun to get a bit dirty. :) I am in Washington state and only live about 30 minutes from national forest. Tons of roads once the snow melts ...
In my teens, we used to have a place just like that just a couple of kms away from our homes in Cascais (Portugal). I grew up there, riding yamahas Dt50, 125 etc. that was until 20 some years ago they closed the "circuit" and build on the all place....I shall not repeat what I (and all of us -now in our 40's) said at the time (and keep saying till now....I miss that place.
Vasco Pais Brandão Always sad when a riding area gets closed. Usually when we can find out why it is because someone was making way too much noise or they were leaving trash behind.
In this case it was more of a real estate "thing". It was on "Quinta da Marinha", on of the most expensive terrain in all of Portugal....still, it was amazing. Well...maybe the noise was a little to much (I remember my straight pipes 2 stroke Dt...). Later on, on dr350, it was amazing. Anyways, it's becoming harder and harder rider to find a place like this near by. Ps: any guy who's in between 35 and 50, Portuguese, living in Cascais and rides a motorcycle will remember that place for sure. It was "the place to go"!
i had a blast on my DR 650. Out in AZ there are lots of Forest service Roads that are perfect for a low to mid weight dual sport motorcycle. I finally had to sell it before I really hurt myself.
Some folks are very protective because they know if a hundred guys with loud pipes show up it will result in trail closures. Best to meet the locals and once they see you are a cool they will open up.
Nice bikes with a solid motor. The Sertao models have a 21" front for dirt but are taller. I like that you can get ABS as I really think it is a good idea on the street. Buy it and when you give 'er send us a video.
Hey GloCarreg I use a GoPro mounted on the bike or helmet but most of the shots where I am following the action were with a Sony HDR-CX110. I pretty cheap handheld with a decent zoom that records on SD cards.

I don't have a lot of experience on the 650s but I think r10jf977 is right on the money. You can always get a low seat and lower the suspension if you have to.
Nicely done! I wondered what happened to Jason after he made contact with his windscreen. That seemed to be the most dramatic event that was never recorded from the apormc,
Another awesome video! Another foot of snow on the way this week in the state of Maine, looks like I'll be waiting a little longer to pick up my new 800 that's been patiently waiting for me at the dealer. When are you planning your first trip to the U.S. this year? I definitely want to meet you guys, and maybe even do a little riding together too. You should come to Maine, so many great places to ride. Thanks for the vids, and keep up the good work!
If you ever head our way let us know. Even for me it as at least an hour to a sandpit. Must be something within 90 kms of your place. Check out the ODSC (Ontario Dual Sport Club) and ask there perhaps. Also look at Rally Connex they put on rides for dualsports in Ontario.
Great video... I'm not actually from Canada, i'm from Portugal but i'm trying get enough money to go work and living there. Montreal is the destination. I hope not take long, have family there to. I thought people only speach french in Montreal. Well just to say i really enjoy to see you playing, special on F800GS, I'm trying to get one to, despite my 1,68m, wich is about 5.5 feet. Well, kept the good work Players, cause you are Awesome.
Excellent video guys,,, I have been a cruiser person for years ... Dual sport has always been on my mind. I recently went on a trip to Romania where I got the chance to ride an F650gs through the mountains. I was hooked to dual sport motorcycles. Yesterday I put a down payment on a brand new 2013 F800 GS which was the last 2013 model bike they had at the dealership shipped and displayed in 2014. I got it for a pretty good deal. Today I was offered a used 2012 F800 GS with many Add ons and accessories for a cheaper price (basically the bike is fully ready for off-road use). The bike has over 20KM on it and scratches here and there. I am a 100 percent sure I will be dropping the bike (new or used), as I start to learn how to ride off-road. I just can't make up my mind.. My heart says go for a brand new bike and make it your own.. what did u guys do ? Did u buy new bikes when u first started ? Or used ones ? Your advice would be greatly appreciated.. many thanks.. Omar
Omar Tahboub Hi Omar. I (Riley) bought my 800 new as there were no used ones. If you feel like you need warranty get new. Here the warranty is 3 years no mileage limit. If I was buying now I would ideally get something used that had maybe a year of warranty left or I would buy a cheaper 2009 or so with some miles and save a whole bunch of money. A lot of time if you add up the accessories on the used bikes they are great deals. Don't forget to consider that any accessories you don't want you can sell and recoup extra there as well. Lets us know what you decide and welcome to the dual sport fraternity!
Hi there. Montreal is a very nice city. There is a sizeable english population in Montreal. The F800 at 5'5" will be a bit tall but if you go with the low seat and and the lowered suspension it will certainly help. Drop us a line when you get here.

If it is sandy I like to run 22 in front and maybe 18 in back. You have to watch for rocks! I do find that more and more I just leave it at 24 front and rear.
Love these videos, I don't have a dual sport, just a sport, but it is something I want to get into when I have the funds. Have you ever watched the Endless Summer, because your narration style and voice is very similar, and really gives these videos that something extra.
Yo mates, comin home from work and watching a new awesome players video can make ones day. I mean is there a better start in the evening than seeing a close up of Hungarian nostrils? Sure not. Great video Riley, keep em comin'. Regards from Austria, Steve
Hey Rilley, Keep those vids coming. That's what got me trough this never ending winter... Also, very exited to be in your team at La Classique RidAventure :) Hope to see all the boys there. Bring some Stikers.... If you got any left :)
How long are your legs? I wear a 32" jean and now that I am used to the bike I have raised the suspension with stiffer springs and added at least an inch in seat foam. If you keep the stock suspension height and get the low seat you should be fine. You can even lower the suspension another inch or so.
Hey bubba1053. Henrik, Joe and I all had KLRs. I even bought a second one! Good bike. Too tall for Henrik. Joe and I wanted more power and better highway manners. Still miss it when the going gets really tough or I drop my bike. Never really minded dropping the KLR! I tell people to buy a KLR all the time as it is still an Awesome deal especially used ones.
I've asked around a bit but nobody knows (or is willing to tell) of any open access sand pits in my neck of the woods (Cambridge, On., shame because it looks like a great way to learn without getting hurt too bad. Perhaps I will venture out your way some time for a meet up... ;)
Really enjoyed this video thanks.

As long as you are having fun you are riding the right bike.

Love these videos, I don't have a dual sport, just a sport, but it is something I want to get into when I have the funds. Have you ever watched the Endless Summer, because your narration style and voice is very similar, and really gives these videos that something extra.
Thanks for a great video , as usual it is brilliant. Chris g650gs
Yay for Bruno! Amusing video as always. :-)
Yo mates, comin home from work and watching a new awesome players video can make ones day. I mean is there a better start in the evening than seeing a close up of Hungarian nostrils? Sure not. Great video Riley, keep em comin'.
Regards from Austria,
Steve

very enjoyable video
Yasin Alizai Thanks for watching! New video will be up this weekend.
I use a RAM arm on a Manfrotto Nano clamp. Works great.
Hey MuckMe02, I hear ya, we are going to the Moto Show tomorrow. That usually gets the spring fever going pretty good.
I loved the "I dont know much hungarian, but I guess that wasnt good morning"
Very entertaining!
Great video Motoriley, you deserve many more subs!
I like to run 22 in front and around the same out back. I can lower in the rear if a feel like it. Have to slow done for rocks though.
Great video my KLR is ready to go Judy's GS should be in soon
I've asked around a bit but nobody knows (or is willing to tell) of any open access sand pits in my neck of the woods (Cambridge, On., shame because it looks like a great way to learn without getting hurt too bad. Perhaps I will venture out your way some time for a meet up... ;)
Alright cool! Thanks for the help.
