- Re-upload due to music copyright issue. Fun to see how little we knew, how young we looked and how happy we were! Riley, Jason and Henrik head out and discover an abandoned ski hill. Blindly following a little used and increasingly over grown trail they search for an exit that won't force them to backtrack. Despite a few crashes and many obstacles, blind luck sees them stumble out not far from where the adventure started. A leisurely trek home culminating in a short ferry ride ends another interesting Sunday morning ride for the ill-named Awesome Players.
Every time I see a DR 650 I think, “The Mighty DR” and it always has Henrick’s face on it. Crazy stuff!
I can still hear a DR starter from across a parking lot and know right away what it is.
@@AwesomePlayers the chicken starter even happens to DRs with low miles 😂
@@ridenm7748 I will never forget that sound!
I still haven't fixed mine. Decided to start making noise after I fixed the cam chain tensioner gasket. Not doing that until winter.
Does Henrik miss this even a little? As long as the opening theme never changes....I can handle just about any other kind of 'progress'.
I know we miss him.
@@AwesomePlayers Im new to your page here..but Im a long time motorcyclist and trailbike rider..and love your vids...Did Henrik give up riding?
@@mottthehoople693 He got into sailboats!
@@AwesomePlayers thank you for the reply...I was worried he died or something!!
I miss henrik too. Tell him to buy a tw200 and give it another go.
Awesome ride can't believe it's been 10 years
Who is that kid on the thumbnail....
Still a great video!!
Glad you think so!
Gosh, I remember this one. Been watching your videos for a long time!
Time has truly flown by. Hard to believe it has been almost 12 years of videos. I should be a much better rider based on that stat.
nah yer never lost just a new path, love the gs comment👌
Sometimes we have had to turn around but we have been pretty lucky over the years with finding a way out. I think if I were solo it would be a different story as I certainly wouldn't be as bold and 3 guys can pretty much carry a motorcycle if they have to.
Golden oldy. Good tuner for spring to come. Still lots of snow this way in Quebec city. Cheers.
Lots of snow on the trails near Montreal still. In town its mostly gone.
Another successful day & report!! Thumbs up!!
Thanks for the visit
I see you guys always riding the BMW...why not the mighty DR? I'm on the fence between a brand new DR or a 1999 BMW R1100GS with 68k km...I want to ride your type of adventure. I'm decent with a wrench but I don't want to get stuck with heavy maintenance costs. Please help!
All depends on condition. On the 1100/1150 engines 68,000 kms is nothing if taken care of. If the DR is in good shape it should be no problem as well. Main difference is the 1100 is a very big and heavy dual sport. The DR is a feather in comparison. The GS will be great on the highway and with a passenger and the DR won't. The Dr will be far superior in nasty off-road. Dual sport bikes are all compromises you have to decide what is important to you.
The boy who is driving the Dr650 lacks a lot of experience, he practically does not know how to handle the motorcycle in off-road places.
We were young then. 12 years have passed. We are 20% better now.
There's nothing better than old Movies....just like "the Goodfather", "Some like it hot" or even "the Awesome Players"
Thanks bud. Slightly depressing how young we looked though.
You guys made that rocky hill climb at 1hr 5m look easy. It took me three goes on my 650GS and dented my front rim in two spots. The downhill I remember was not much fun either.
Some days you have it and others you don't. I find it really easy to psych myself out sometimes.
Great to see the 800 's thanks for sharing
Still miss the 800 sometimes. Big bike fun is just a different kind of fun.
It's okay to get lost , cause you'll always find your way home. Without gas just means it'll take a little longer.. hehe
True. If nothing ever happened these rides would be pretty dull.
You nailed it when you said "it is nice to not be hammed in by the machine".
True. Hard to find the right balance between road and dirt.
The kind of trip that makes the beer so much better when you get home haha
Very true. Sometimes the allure of the terrace is strong.
Anyone who has/does own a DR will knowingly crack up along with the duo from 31:30 ...
I don't think the rear shock on that DR was really doing a good job wth only one guy on it.
@@AwesomePlayers That's why those in the know will laugh along with them ...
I bought an aftermarket shock within 5 rides on the DR lol
Hi Guys its been awhile since I have followed you all. Its AWESOME to see your videos again PLEASE keep them coming, They are really encouraging. Cheers from NZ down under
Thanks Iain. Some old re-uploads and some new content coming.
not a proper ride out if you don't start from the coffee shop. u need to re edit 😆
My bad. Luckily we have since made that a hard and fast rule. Cheers.
Just got a Tim Houghton open in Manchester always laugh to myself when we park up on a Sunday
steve
Maybe it's odd but I really appreciate that you made this without music except in the outro. I enjoy hearing the bikes.
That seems to be the majority view so music in general has been pretty limited in future videos.
The good old times.... : )
Back when we were young.....
Goes to show persistence pays off,I thought you were going to have to turn around. Good video 👍🏻👍🏻
We were pretty motivated not to go back and got lucky.
mighty klr is back
Mighty DR!
You never fail to make an entertaining motion picture, thanks Riley 🏍🇨🇦
Glad you enjoy it!
