That was just the most awesome review I have ever seen for a motorcycle. Accurate and totally fun. One more reason to get a GS 800 (which I just have to convince my wife of....can it handle two up riding?).
Two up!? definitely yes, my wife loves it - very comfortable. Don´t forget to get the topcase with the Cushion (it´s an extra). A friend of mine didn't get the cushion and almost got a divorce ....

I have a 650gs with the same (slightly lower powered) upright twin engine and I would agree with everything you said (except it's a little lower and I'm a little taller) but I love your review. Well done.

Awesome video, i'm going to buy a new 2014 adventure model begin next year and going to trade in my current Kawasaki 650r. I am planning on taking a long trip across Europe and later on England/Scotland. This is going to be the bike i'm going to ride for at least the next 10 years. This bike is everything i want and need in a motorcycle.
Informative and Entertaining! Great production! Debating on a F800GS now! I 've ridden an F650GS (same engine, different cam) and the only 'bad' I could find is it's a little buzzy over 75 mph and the windscreen doesn't do much except keep bugs off your belly button.
Congrats for the video, I really enjoyed. As a proud user of a GS800 I stand for all the things you said about the bike, just awesome! and can achieve perfectness with the aftermarket parts you mentioned like a taller fairing and auxiliar lights. I can add to those, protection bars, top/side cases and a good touring seat...you'd be good to go wherever you want to go from Alaska to Patagonia and everyplace in between!!! :) (BTW -Next trip - from Brazil to Atacama Desert,Chile!!)

I ride the BMW R1200 Gelande Strasse Adventure and drink tall Latte's from Starbucks so you are just a puny little bug but you made a really cool video and have a great sense of humor. Nice bike!
There is one more thing about F800GS: Great bike AFTER you learn how to ride it. It's completely different from everything else I used to ride and took me about 2 years to learn it well (by try and fail method), especially on technically demanding off-road tracks. But once you learn it, there is no better dual-sport bike.
Great review. You're a funny well informed dude. I am currently riding my mate's 2015 f800gs once in awhile checking it out. I thought I'd go the way of the v strom or Africa Twin. But the f800 is ticking all the boxes. I am 6 1 and 280 lbs and it handles perfectly. My feet Reach the ground flat. The power is more than enough and I want to commute and tour with it. Your review has helped. 1200 is to big for my needs Harley is not what I'm after. The f800gs is way to comfortable to pass up

Great vid. I agree regarding the front brake fluid reservoir. It is so out of place! Besides if you ditch it off road, i could see it snap right off! BOL at you banging your head reg. the reservoir. Classic. I have the f700gs
Great video! I love and hate my BMW. It is the most well balanced bike I have ever driven, and performs really well over all. The down side is ... I have had many, many issues, and in the USA, BMW has been totally unresponsive to my requests for warranty service - except for a dead battery. If I still lived in Europe, BMW would be at the top of my list for best all around bike.
Tank split apart, ABS failure, dead spot above idle causing stalling in traffic upon take off, TPMS off by 5 PSI, one battery failure, one dead grip heater ...
Jake Curl Good to know. The quality is not what it used to be. Aren't they made in Taiwan now? Something to keep in mind and I heard the dealers are not very supportive.
Mine was assembled in Berlin - obviously during Octoberfest! The engine is an 800cc Rotax built in Austria. All of the components are of excellent quality. The issue is two-fold: build quality is hit or miss; dealer set up and prep was a complete miss. Buy only from Max, GoAz, A&S, or Barnett if you live in the USA.
