Baltimore was known for it's old money, and has alot of old elegant homes. This house was one in her glory. Even though the floors seen alot of wear and tear they are well worth restoring . The transoms are gorgeous. You know they had money cause they are stain glass. Loved the peek inside. 😍😍 as always thanks for the trip

As a born and raised Baltimorean I developed a love of the city's brick and stone rowhomes at an early age. Bolton Hill has some of the most beautiful examples of Victorian era rowhomes in the city, though they do exist in other areas such as squares and main thoroughfares running through older parts of town.

@1:07, I shudder to think what someone with more money than taste and no appreciate for history, might do that beautiful, old house. In the UK, 'listed buidlings' status means that permission must be sought to make changes and will refused if they are 'not in keeping' with the overall aesthetic of the building.

The ravages of time. If you use your mind's eye, you can dial back the wear and tear to about 1910 and image it in perfect condition. The furnishings would have been something.

They didn't take good care of that property, that's for sure; it appears animals lived there all this time. Is that a poor area in the city of Baltimore? It has potential and could be turned back into a nice place.

EVERYTHING would have to be redone. Those vertical logs holding up the basement beams do not look very sturdy; they seem to just be resting on the concrete floor. Electrical, heating, gutting nearly everything except the woodwork and stained glass. That will take a TON of money and lots of expertise. The bathrooms are just awful but would look so lovely restored in Victorian style. Gorgeous woodwork in the floors.

..great bones and original finished details that remain. At any time in the last 60 years this dwelling could have lost its details by urban decor scavengers quick to make a buck, uninterested in the historical significance. These relics in the rough are getting more challenging to discover as each year passes, especially for those to have a passion for preservation with the intent of calling one home.
